Does anyone know any alternatives to the default windows photo viewer? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 08:37 AM PST I'm having serious scaling issues with it, it scales stuff and it looks extremely blurry. I first thought it had something to do with the screenshot tool I was using but turned out not to be the case. I'm just looking for basic lightweight stuff, but any suggestions are welcome :) [link] [comments]
Windows freezing then rebooting after 10 min of activity Posted: 02 Dec 2018 05:33 PM PST So this all started about five days ago. Normally what will happen is that I leave my computer on for an hour playing background music and it will remain on until it puts itself to sleep or runs out of energy. Perhaps this is bad practice but I'm not sure if this is linked to my current problem. If I try to do the same thing now, the whole system will freeze (often will have annoying audio glitches) and then reboot, though sometimes I have to hit and hold power. I've been actually struggling with fixing this on my own for the past week; clearing out memory, making space in the SSD, running diagnostics (on memory and viruses all of which come out fine) none of which seem to solve the issue. I am now at the point of trying to do a pc refresh, keep files but reset everything else and the system says it can't even do that for some reason. Wtf do I do? I'm working with an Asus E403N which I've had for about 9 months [link] [comments]
Windows 7 webpage as screen saver? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 06:47 PM PST I've got a Windows 7 box that I'd like to have a screen saver on that's a website. I want to enable the locking feature, such that when it goes to the screen saver if you use a keyboard or mouse it will go to the Windows lock screen. The only issue is that the website requires a login, and it's not a standard HTTP login, it's one where you have to enter your name & password into a form on the page, then it goes to the actual page that I want. Is there software that will do this, or is this built in somewhere perhaps? [link] [comments]

Multimonitor Mouse help - Crossing a gap Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:56 PM PST So at work I have a laptop and dual monitors. I have them set up like -_- where the bottom of my monitors are about half way up my laptop. I have the monitors set up in the correct orientation in display settings so I can go from left monitor, across the laptop to the right monitor, but is there a way to go "over" the laptop so I dont have to drag stuff down over then up? Basically jumping the gap "above" the laptop? [link] [comments]
"Low Disk Space" message pops up multiple times everyday and I'm sick of it Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:37 PM PST As the title says, I continuously get a pop up message in the bottom right corner that says "Low disk space" but when I click on it, my local drive is almost empty. No storage system on my computer is even close to being filled. Does anyone know the solution to stop this pop up? Has anyone else faced this annoyance? Thank you in advance... it's hard to focus on anything with the bombardment of notifications this causes. [link] [comments]
How do I have a slideshow wallpaper be the same for my two monitors? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 12:45 PM PST Hello, I have a 2 monitor setup and I want this folder I have to occasionally shuffle between pictures for my wallpaper. It all looks well and dandy but when it switches to the next image, both monitors display a different picture from the folder, not the same one. If anyone has a solution this that would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]
OneDrive sync and folder problems. Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:05 PM PST About two months ago I got Office 365 Personal and started to use OneDrive to store my files (~600GB). During this time I've encountered a few problems with the Windows application:

Trying to play Tux Racer on Win10. It keeps freezing. Please help me? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:02 PM PST Hello all! It's been probably over 15 years since I last played Tux Racer, which is an open source game released in the year 2000 by Sunspire Studios for Linux and Windows. I miss my childhood! Lately I've been reinstalling old games on my Win10 laptop, namely Zoo Tycoon (2001, working perfectly) and Zoo Tycoon 2 (2006, also working perfectly), Extreme Tux Racer (2001, working but a bit buggy), and now this one. It took me months to find a place to download the original! Now I have it, and it starts up perfectly on Win10. I can create, delete, etc player accounts, and I can change settings and start races. However, the game keeps freezing, to the point where the only solution is to kill it using the Task Manager and then reopen. It always freezes at one of two points: either at the very start of a race, before the course finishes loading, or at the very end, when I try to click to the next race. When I go to kill it using the Task Manager, it only says "not responding". PLEASE help me out here! I'm at the point of making a partition with an old build of Linux, or with WinXP, to try to run it; but I'd much rather avoid that, if at all possible. TIA! [link] [comments]

How can I put windows 10 on my old laptop? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 08:59 AM PST It currently has windows 8.1 which sucks and slows it way down. It is a laptop with 4gb and a A8 AMD CPU from probably 2013/14. It no longer wants to update or anything because of the old OS. How can I remove windows 8.1 and install windows 10 using a usb stick for unactivated windows? (Like you would out on a brand new pc build). [link] [comments]

Questions about creating a system image for Windows 10. Posted: 02 Dec 2018 08:16 AM PST Hello everyone! I just recently purchased a secondary hard drive to backup my main hard drive out of fear of losing everything I created a system image in Windows 10 and put it on the second hard drive. The system image would be a complete back up of my main hard drive right? Like all of my files, programs, and settings or is it just to back up the OS itself? My second question is if the system image is a backup, what do I do to ensure that the secondary hard drive I put it on is safe? As in, if my computer crashes and I lose everything on my primary hard drive (which I recently have) will my second hard drive be effected as well. I keep them both plugged in at all times. Is this okay or do I need to put some sort of encryption on it? Any responses would be much appreciated! [link] [comments]
Error 1920 service office software protection platform osppsvc failed to start Posted: 02 Dec 2018 11:59 AM PST So I am trying to re-install Microsoft Office and at around 45% during the installation it crashes, giving me the error above. After hours of searching fixes on the internet, it seems that the problem is the "sppsvc.exe" file in C:/Windows/System32. It's there, but when I try to run it, it gives me another error, saying "Windows cannot find C:/Windows/System32/sppsvc.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." So although the executable is there, it cannot be used. I have tried multiple possible fixes, such as giving permissions to Network Service and other things, but nothing is working. Any ideas? Operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate x32. [link] [comments]
Expand filetree to current directory in explorer Posted: 02 Dec 2018 08:01 AM PST I don't want to the change settings so that explorer navigates to current directory in explorer all the time. I'd basically like to click a button that expands the filetree to the current working directory (preferebly a custom button/hotkey within explorer). [link] [comments]

Can you change the font colour of a single word in Windows Movie Maker? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 10:37 AM PST This may sound dumb but I've put together a video with some text and I want to change one of the words to red and the rest white. Is there a way to do this without all of the text changing colour? At the minute when I select only one word it changed the whole caption colour to red. Thanks [link] [comments]
I know it's WAY overdue, but how can I update from 8.1 to 10? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 10:24 AM PST I was in the midst of a critical project when the change occurred and wasn't willing to risk any potential problems with a switch. That project has finally been completed. So... is it possible to update to 10 still? [link] [comments]

Windows 10 Volume Normalization - What happened to it? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 10:13 AM PST Just trying Win10 again with a newer update after being on Linux a while and I don't see that feature anymore. I was hoping it'd add it for my VX1 amp/dac since it didn't have it before. I know it's possible since Linux could use Pulseaudio plugins to normalize audio even Windows didn't support. Is this gone for anyone else? It's hard to live without when you have screaming/whispering audio, especially at night or quiet time. [link] [comments]
