    Stay away from truecaller!

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 07:01 AM PDT

Guys be careful with Truecaller, i dont recommend this app to anyone who cares about privacy.

Once you register your number in the app you probably will never be able erase it from their system, its app has a bug that doesn't let you deactivate your account! I emailed them about this problem and asked them to manually remove my number from their system but they dont care at all, just robot like responses!

[DEV] Stapp - Block tracks, albums, and artists on Spotify

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 03:46 AM PDT

    DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY

    What is it for?

Stapp saves your ears by blocking tracks, albums, and artists you don't like on Spotify. Simply add them to a blacklist and Stapp will do its best to "stapp" these tracks from playing. No more Chris Brown or R.Kelly. No more Christmas songs at the beginning of November. Yay!

    How to use

Play track, album, or artist you want to block on Spotify first and use the Block button in Home screen to add it to blacklist.

    Features:

    • Block certain tracks, albums & artists.
    • Stapp also can block tracks & albums based on their name. For example: block all tracks/albums contain the word "Christmas" in the title.
    • Override blacklist rules with a whitelist. Tracks matched by these rules will be played no matter what.
    • Work in offline mode.
    • Work when playing on desktop & other devices.
    • Totally free.
    • No ads (for now).
    • More coming soon.

    FAQs

    - Can I use Stapp with non-premium Spotify account
Yes, but there are limitations. Stapp can only work when Spotify allows you to skip tracks. So it's better if you have a premium account because you can skip tracks anytime you want.

    - Do Stapp work when I use Spotify on desktop or other devices?
Yes. You just need to run Stapp on your phone in the background while connecting to the Internet.

    - Can I use in offline mode?
    Yes.

[DEV] SwiftTask - Your faster todo list, which just reached adulthood with your help!

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 11:27 AM PDT

First of all: Thank you for your feedback

Almost two months ago, I posted my feshly created app here and was asking you guys for feedback, ideas and features you were missing. Since then I worked hard on SwiftTask, pushing out weekly updates with more and more features. Now I feel like that it reached a stage, which you could call its adulthood.

From now on I'll be focusing on bigger, but less regularly updates. And I promise that I won't be "spamming" this sub anymore afterwards 😁

    Links

    Download on Google Play

Download on Amazon (Latest version should be online soon)

Download on Uptodown (Latest version should be online in a few days)

    THE APP

    One task. One line

You only need to type one line to add a task with all its characteristics like category, date and location. For example:

    groceries #household *10.09.

You don't even need to type these things out on every task. The app provides you recommendations based on your previous tasks and a beautiful date picker. All that by not using any annoying menus you have to click through and waste your time.

The best thing: These one liners allow you to add tasks via Android's notification center. Meaning that you don't have to close your current app.

If you don't like this approach, you can also add tasks via a standard menu. There you can also attach a note to it or set recurring dates for the task.

    (New) features

    • New, cleaner and better readable design

    • Colors will help you to differentiate between categories and automatically added icons let you recognize your tasks even faster. If you don't like a certain color or a icon doesn't fit - just change it.

    • Different sortings: Sort your tasks by category, date (calendar-like) or show a simple overview of them.

    • Pin tasks: If you don't want to miss your tasks at all costs, just pin them to the notification tray (and check them from there).

    • You don't want to clutter your notification tray? Use one of the two widgets.

    • Also supporting Android Shortcuts, Quicksetting tiles and Google Assistant.

    • Dark theme

    • Recurring tasks

    • Personalization of the task list: Display additional details like date and location next to your tasks. So you don't have to open the details dialog.

    • Oldschool input: If you don't like the text-input, add your tasks the old-fashioned way.

    • Free, ad-free and small (~3.5MB)

    • No special permissions needed

And there's more to come - let me know, if you are missing something.

    Best google fit alternative....

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 06:27 AM PDT

I was using google fit for a long time. But after the recent material design refresh, it has become quite unusable. There's no pedometer widget anymore, and the count is highly inaccurate. Even when i journey by bus, it counts it as workout and add to the step count! Recently i started using Samsung health. It's quite good and accurate. It has widget too (which is my priority), but it sips too much battery. I constantly get notifications about consuming battery... Which is annoying. So, is there any good alternative to google fit with widget and is accurate? Added sleep tracker like samsung helath would be nice!

Apps That are Better with Subscriptions

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 09:41 AM PDT

I am hoping this is a different kind of question than, I have X number of dollars in Play Store credit to spend, but curious what are your apps that are better with an added recurring subscription or IAP in Google Play? AutoApps is one good example as you get access to the entire library of apps, but looking for others!

I use pocket cast on Android that's got a feature to premium paid content in as OPML.

Is there a simple way to convert my RSS file into OPML to work on pocket cast?

Facebook Messenger: Games not available right now

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 11:37 AM PDT

Hey! I've been wondering about why the messenger games aren't available to me. I've been able to use them before on the same phone, but suddenly they aren't available. I'm using a galaxy s8+ if anyone is wondering. I've tried reinstalling the app but nothing works.

App data backup suggestions (root not working.)

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 03:03 AM PDT

I usually help people out on other subs but figured here was the best place for this.

Somehow I foolishly managed to deactivate a Tasker profile that manages my backup schedule and consequently my last Titanium was over a week ago. Unfortunately on this phone, there is only one rom available and it has transpired to be a little temperamental in that after a while, SuperSU tends to freak out.

Consequently, I have a couple of apps that I'd ideally like to back up the app data of but upon much searching, it would appear the opinion on Helium is still very split.

Do any techies out there have any suggestions for backing up app data bearing in mind that root apps are no longer working? Because this is a one time desire, rather than just suggestions of apps to try, I'd much prefer suggestions of apps that have a degree of success consistently.

Huge thanks in advance to anyone that can spare a few moments to help out.

    Initial D Speedometer

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 10:33 AM PDT

I'm trying to get an old friend of mine who can code help me with this, but am having trouble contacting him -

I thought it'd be fun to make an app for my phone that, when I'm driving, tracks my speed and plays (from random selection) running in the 90s, gas gas gas, or deja vu depending on either the rate of my acceleration or a set speed.

I watched this video (which I didnt really understand) but can see how it wouldn't potentially be that difficult to create. Just after it's set up, make a dependency that checks for when the speed is >= somewhere around 50 mph or so; or if between refreshes the difference in speed is around +20 mph.

I have been wanting to have this made for a while, and I hope you guys out there would find this fun as well

    Thanks!

Can sideloaded apps (i.e, F-Droid etc) be detected/tracked by Google?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 08:05 AM PDT

I've been using F-Droid, Github, Itch.io, random places, etc for my apps lately. Does Google still detect, and still add the apps to your Play Store's library? Searching for an answer on Google didn't get me much, except this line from androidcentral:

"It won't be associated with your Android Market account, but it shows in your app drawer just like all the rest"

Does that encompass the entirety of my Google Account?

Finally, if they are detected/tracked, how do I hide them from Google? Or at least from showing up in my library for all to see?

Samsung Email Apk on Pixel issue

    Posted: 29 Oct 2018 07:51 AM PDT

I am having an issue getting the Samsung Email app onto my Pixel 3.

When I install the latest apk from apk mirror for the email app it says "App not Installed".

Is the Samsung Email app not compatible with phones other than Samsung? Are there any Samsung Email Apks that are modded to work with other phones?

I am wanting an email app that is close to the IOS stock email app. Something very simple and let's me see the number of emails in each of my accounts inboxes at a glance. It seems like all of the third party Android mail apps are over engineered and have too many features, and some are fetching very slowly.
