I got the Oneplus 6T a day early Posted: 31 Oct 2018 11:25 AM PDT A kind T-Mobile store let me get the OnePlus 6T a day early! (https://photos.app.goo.gl/b2uScsXv79ZMxLwXA) The picture of the box was taken with the 6T. My initial impressions:
If you have any questions, feel free to ask below! I'll try to get to them as much as I can. [link] [comments]

OnePlus 6 Touch Latency: 101ms Posted: 31 Oct 2018 04:58 PM PDT According to lesnumeriques.com, the OnePlus 6T has a pretty bad touch latency of 101ms. For reference: OnePlus 3/3T: around 95ms OnePlus 5T: 85ms OnePlus 6: 95ms Pixel 2 XL: 78ms Pixel 3 XL: 50ms Mate 20 Pro: 74ms Xiaomi Mi 8: 72ms Oppo Find X: 91ms iPhone XS: 40ms Note 9: 51ms This disturbs me, to be honest. Why are manufacturers not testing for this? It's what makes a phone feel direct/instant/snappy. Has OnePlus acknowledged this yet? This is certainly fixable through software, as we have seen on some other devices (even older OP devices) that had high touch latency. Anyone here used the 6T yet and can shed some light on this? Any news regarding an Always On Display or notification indicator? Posted: 31 Oct 2018 07:28 AM PDT The OnePlus 6T removed the notification LED, something that I view as vital when choosing a new phone. Along with that, the 6T doesn't seem to currently support an Always On Display. Has OnePlus said anything about the possible implementation of either an Always On Display or some sort of notification indicator for the 6T in an upcoming software update? [link] [comments]
Oneplus made a discounted version of unbox therapy Posted: 31 Oct 2018 07:47 AM PDT They forgot Jack Yeah the one behind the camera but also the other jack as well https://youtu.be/ebNdkQbkRUw [link] [comments]
PSA: The OnePlus 6 can still be ordered as of today. Posted: 31 Oct 2018 06:40 AM PDT Interestingly, OnePlus has kept the 6 available, at least for now. Looks like all models are still in stock, though also at full price, but thought I'd mention it if anyone is still looking to get a 6 instead of the 6T. [link] [comments]

Impressions on one of the Pop-Up Stores Posted: 31 Oct 2018 09:49 AM PDT Hey everybody, Today I was lucky enough to visit one of the Pop-Up stores in Europe. I'm only talking about the one in Toulouse, France, so in your city things might have been different. Toulouse is a fairly small city in France that doesn't have many tech related conferences or events. "Big" tech stores are fairly decent and don't attract many people, so having a OnePlus Pop-Up Store was incredible. I arrived one hour and a half before the opening and boy let me tell you, the line was so small, only 14 people before me. A guy that works with OnePlus offered us coffee, water and some croissants and "chocolates" (pains au chocolat for those in the North). He was the nicest and lent us some 6T to try. He knew his stuff. When the store finally opened at noon I was a little disappointed. There was nothing about OnePlus. Workers were wearing the usual uniform and there were no ads or anything from OnePlus. There were no phones on display, so we waited in line again just to buy the phones. The 8Gb 128Gb was the only variant available as well. It was pretty disappointing. But hey, I was able to buy the Midnight Black OnePlus 6T and got some goodies. The 30 first buyers received a case, a backpack (or a sweatshirt) , some stickers, and a bag. I asked for the backpack and couldn't be happier. The OnePlus 6T is amazing, feels great in my hands. However, as a long-time lover of the problem and first-time owner, I have some mixed feelings. Personally I don't like the speakers and the new finger print reader under the screen is pretty slow. Facial recognition is amazing and extremely fast. The camera is great, but wish I knew that slow-motion needs great ambient light, otherwise the image is very dark. If you'd like to know something else, feel free to ask! [link] [comments]
OnePlus 6T - 2 step fingerprint start up - dealbreaker Posted: 31 Oct 2018 12:08 PM PDT Can the phone come alive from sleep with just single press on the fingerprint reader? I saw videos showing the power button already pressed before the fingerprint press. This 2 step startup is a dealbreaker. I have my OP5 on car dash and can single press the front fingerprint sensor to bring the phone alive. I wont have a rear fingerprint sensor for this reason. If OP6T is 2 step operation to start up, forget it, I'll pass. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Oct 2018 06:45 PM PDT So this is the one I'm looking at: https://www.oneplus.com/oneplus-6t-silicone-protective-case I've done some googling and couldn't find a definitive answer. Are these the type of cases that 'stick' in your pocket liner and make them hard to pull out of a pair of jeans? [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Oct 2018 12:19 PM PDT I bought the phone today at the pop up event in Milan! I've used it today all day and I'm pretty satisfied by it so far. Ask me anything! [link] [comments]
6T: mirror vs. midnight black scratch resistance? Posted: 31 Oct 2018 09:55 AM PDT Does anyone know of any reviews of the two that specifically compare the colours? I prefer the look of mirror black but I'm really concerned about scratch resistance. My gut tells me that midnight black "absorb" them better, but I really want to see some evidence. Got the T-Mobile version in hand! Posted: 31 Oct 2018 03:10 PM PDT So far, so great. After watching the live event I decided that the $900 I was spending on the Note 9 really wasn't worth it. Now that I picked up the phone I can say that I was 100% correct in picking up this phone. The first thing that blew me away was that the screen was about the same size as the Note 9, but the phone feels much smaller. The screen itself is fantastic. The color on this is really nice, especially with the phone in dark mode. The fingerprint scanner is decent. Could be faster, but it is fast enough. The software is quick. No lag to be detected. That's just my first 20 minutes with the phone. You can ask questions if you like. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Oct 2018 02:54 PM PDT XDA review said Verizon speedtest was much slower on OP6T (~19Mbps) vs. Pixel 3 (~55Mbps). Has anyone seen additional sources confirm this? I want to make sure OP6T isn't somehow throttled in Verizon before pulling the trigger tomorrow morning. [link] [comments]
What Version of the 6T is everyone going for? Posted: 31 Oct 2018 09:25 AM PDT I have pre ordered the big boy 8GB RAM & 256GB storage. I'm planning to keep the phone for a few years. How about everyone else? [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Oct 2018 04:56 PM PDT Does anyone know if Amazon USA will be selling the 6T on launch day like OnePlus and T-Mobile? [link] [comments]
Long-term advice for low battery life? [Oneplus 3T] Posted: 31 Oct 2018 07:51 AM PDT So I've been getting approximately ~3 hours SOT with my OP3T after having it for approximately ~2 years and I'm now resorting to charging it twice a day just to extend it over a 24-Hour period. I've replaced parts within the phone before (including damaged rear camera after a house party) and was considering a battery replacement? Or alternatively, an upgrade to another device. Is a battery replacement worth the (potential) 2 year extension to the phones life? [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Oct 2018 09:45 AM PDT Wondering if this will be a workaround to get the bootloader unlocked. On XDA, a user was told by tech support that it may work. [link] [comments]
Can i buy an unlocked 6T from a T-Mobile store? Posted: 31 Oct 2018 12:20 PM PDT I'm on Verizon, and won't be switching plans to T-Mobile. Does anyone know if i will be able to get a 6T from T-Mobile at retail price in-store tomorrow? Or will I need to buy it from the OP website to get an unlocked one? [link] [comments] |
