| Mi 8SE vs. Mi 8 lite vs. Redmi Note 5 Posted: 25 Sep 2018 07:42 PM PDT I walked into the Mi store (I live in China) ready to buy the 8SE and saw they've come out with the 8 lite so I'm not sure which I should get. Looking at the specs it seems the 8SE has better components but it's also significantly more expensive. Anyone have any experience with the 8 lite to say how it performs? Would the 8se be 600 RMB (~$100) better? It's about the same size as Redmi Note 5 and it seems everyone loves that phone so at this point which would be the better buy? | My phone is ever so slightly bent. (Redmi Note 5 "whyred") Posted: 25 Sep 2018 02:18 PM PDT So, two days ago I got a Redmi Note 5. It was discounted at a local electronics chain, and it was an impulse buy. Today was the first day the phone left my home. At launch I noticed that it is ever so slightly bent. I cannot fathom how it could've happened: the phone spent not even an hour in my pocket (front left, regular fit jeans, no pressure against my leg), and spent the majority of its existence on a desk. Here are some pictures. The bend's slight, but it is definitely there. If I place the phone on a flat surface (with the camera outside the surface) it rattles back and forth. There are only two options: either Xiaomi is using food industry-grade aluminum (3000, 4000), or the phone was already slightly bent out of the box. If the latter is the case, is it normal? Posted: 25 Sep 2018 07:36 PM PDT Basically the title, on my Pocophone F1 how can I get notifications to display on the lock screen if the notification is received while the phone is unlocked? If the notification is received while the phone is locked its received and displayed on the lock screen as you would expect it to, but if you receive a notification then lock the phone it doesn't display. All notification settings are switched on. In addition, my notification light doesn't blink despite the settings being on and the light functioning when tested. Any ideas on a fix? | Posted: 25 Sep 2018 09:53 PM PDT Everything works great using Havoc v2 official rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-4-prime/development/rom-havoc-os-t3829518 Use the treble TWRP to install 1. backup current rom then do the appropriate wipes 2. then install Havoc v2 rom and gapps, of your choice 3. then reboot into recovery, not system 4. go to Advanced wipe but instead if wiping anything choose button on bottom right that says 'Format Data' 5. now reboot into system 6. after doing all the set up you can go back into TWRP and install root, SuperSU or Magisk [link] [comments]  | ||

| Disable MIUI battery optimizations? Posted: 25 Sep 2018 11:10 AM PDT Coming from EMUI I know to hate the "battery optimizations" a ROM can do. I've now had a couple of times where WhatsApp, Tasker and Mi Fit (for MiBand) did not launch on boot and thus didn't notify of messages. Anyone else having problems like this? Is there a fix? I've already "disabled optimizations" and allowed everything for these apps. In two weeks I will finally get LOS and hopefully that will help :) [link] [comments]  |
