Petition to Oneplus: Please put a good vibration motor on upcoming devices.

    Posted: 28 Sep 2018 05:00 AM PDT

Had a Oneplus One, 3T and now the 6. They have all had terrible vibration motors. I sold my OP3t because i would never feel the vibration and kept missing calls/texts.

The oneplus 6 is a bit better but i still miss a lot of calls and texts because the vibration is so weak. Other than that it's a great phone.

Won't upgrade to a new OP device anymore unless the vibration is fixed.

    [OP6] Problems after last update

    Posted: 28 Sep 2018 11:58 AM PDT

I am having some really annoying problems with my OP6 after this last update. First thing is that my text messaging app has gotten super laggy. Especially when I send out a text the app freezes for 3-5 seconds.

Also my Snapchat crashes constantly, 9/10 times I open it it doesnt even get past the initial loading screen.

None of this was happening before the update so if anyone is experience the same or has any info, I would really appreciate any help.

    Who wipes cache after updating?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2018 11:55 AM PDT

I had some battery draining problems and saw a lot of people advising to wipe cache in recovery to help fix it. I just have this phone (op6) so thought it was a bit weird to be already doing that, but so far it seems to have fixed my issue that came up after updating to pie.

Do more people do this or is this an urban legend? Also, are there even any downsides to wiping cache? Could it have a negative effect?

    Oneplus 6 notch on youtube

    Posted: 28 Sep 2018 08:22 PM PDT

Hello so I recently bought a one plus 6 and upgraded to Android P. When playing a YouTube video and using the fill screen feature by zooming in,my notch display is not used and just shows a grey color on the two sides of the notch. I restarted the phone but the issue keeps coming back. Also i also went into settings to try and make YouTube a full screen app but couldn't find the app it there. It fully covers the screen around the notch sometimes but doesn't work after a while. Anyone else having this problem and know a fix?

When I slide the alert slider from do not disturb mode to Ring mode it stays the same (still in do not disturb), but when I slide it to mute it works.

Does anyone have any idea what causes it and/or how to deal with it ?

PSA To everyone without data after Pie update!

    Posted: 27 Sep 2018 09:45 PM PDT

I've noticed a lot of people posting about not having cellular data after the update. The majority of them are using straight talk.

Here is the solution: you have to go to straight talks website and use the APN settings ON THEIR WEBSITE.

Posting this to try and help anyone else that has this problem.

Link for the correct settings you need: https://apn-settings.com/us/straight-talk-apn-settings/

OnePlus 6 on Pie and Android Auto wireless? Anyone?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2018 10:37 AM PDT

Does anyone on here have a OP6 updated to Pie and a head unit in their car that supports Android Auto wireless? If so can you tell me if the OnePlus6 with Pie works wirelessly with Android Auto? so far only pixels seem to work wirelessly, but the only other phone with Pie so far was the essential phone and that wasn't working wirelessly, so i am looking to see if the OP6 supports it or not.

    thanks.

O2 in UK sells older models after new launch

    Posted: 27 Sep 2018 10:46 PM PDT

For those who may want to buy a 6, 5T or even 5 in the coming weeks/months after the 6T isnreleased, I've noticed these models are still available to buy and sim only on O2.

    https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/brand/oneplus?contractType=payasyougo#sort=content.sorting.featured&pag&page=1

I'll be getting the 6T but might be useful to know for those who want to get the 6 but are not quite ready to get it yet etc.

OP2 - Anyone else have sudden battery issues?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2018 10:03 AM PDT

Yesterday, i started experiencing an issue where random apps(like instagram - hardly ever use & GSam Battery Monitor - Is always on) started taking my battery from full charge to 15% in a matter of ~3 hours. Nothing has changed from my end as far as I know, its been normal use. Has anyone else been experiencing a similar issue? Would rather not buy a new phone right now.

Never EVER been so confused on buying a phone

    Posted: 28 Sep 2018 11:46 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Something is happening to me and never happened before. I had a Pixel 2 and got stolen, so I'm using a crappy phone for the moment waiting to buy my new phone. My options:

    - One Plus 6

    - Pixel 3

    - One Plus 6t

The problem I have is that the 6t is too far away (more than a months considering delivery time). The Pixel 3 I really want because of the instant updates and stock Android. BUT then the OP6 appeared and I've been reading and watching a lot of reviews and the Android experience Is consistently said that is even better than the Pixel phones.

The 6t also, for what I have read, will have few improvements over the 6 that I dont care: notch (I dont give a damn), fingerprint in screen (I use face unlock, so not a big deal for me), battery size (I've read that the battery in the 6 is already one of the best). So the important things like the processor and the RAM will be the same.

The ONLY 2 things that iare keeping me away are:

-Camera: I've heard that with the new updates the camera has gotten much better, in cases even better than the Samsung S9. But as a Pixel user as you can imagine I'm used to have amazing shots without any effort. I havent also found any camera review with the new software update.

    - Display: the ppi density is lower than the Pixel 2. But in real every day use I dont know if that is a big impact. I watch Netflix and Youtube a lot, so will the lower density affect my experience?

Sorry for the his BIG wall of text but this is the first time that I have such a big confusion to buy a phone. Any help and personal experience comments will be appreciate it.

    Cheers!

If OnePlus made a charger + headphone jack adapter would you get the 6T?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2018 06:10 AM PDT

I currently have the OP3 and probably will stick with it for a bit longer if we are going to get 9.0.

But, if Oneplus made an adapter that allowed you to use dash/quick charging and use "normal" headphones or even 2 USB C connections, would you buy it?

I would be tempted, but you can say it would just be an additional cost, thing to lose etc.

[Question] What are the advantages and disadvantages of rooting my OnePlus?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2018 08:56 AM PDT

I own a OnePlus 6 running the latest Pie update and was considering rooting, though I thought it would be better to ask how good or bad could it be.

What worries me the most is when updating to a new OS version. When root, do you have to wipe your device every single time and update is released? What's your experience with your rooted device.

    Thanks!
