| ONEPLUS 3T - Ads on lockscreen? Posted: 02 Sep 2018 03:34 PM PDT Just before I got to sleep I wanted to turn on my lockscreen. What I saw for a split of a second was some kind of ad before I turned it off. It was gone then. I think it was an ad and definitely not a still image because some stuff was moving, it had a black background and definitely read "Bitcoin". Super strange if you ask me. The phone heats too fast and is really slow running modern apps and battery life is not the greatest. | Posted: 02 Sep 2018 07:39 AM PDT Not very much about this at all on Google, and the few threads I did find were related to the OP3 and OP3T. It doesn't seem to affect how the phone actually works with two SIMs, but this is odd since most OP5's have two IMEIs and the GSMA guidelines have stated all dual SIM phones should have unique IMEIs for each SIM slot since 2016 and the OP5 was released in 2017. The sticker on the back lists only one IMEI and only one IMEI is printed on the box. Typing *#06# into the phone lists the same IMEI twice. Every other modern dual SIM phone I have has two IMEIs. The only other one that has the same IMEI twice is my Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 from back in 2015. Seems like a strange anomaly for a dual SIM phone made in 2017 to have only one IMEI. I found a thread from the O2 forums regarding a 3T with one IMEI, there a staff member said this is done on purpose "to prevent abuse of the O2 network", so perhaps this was done on O2's instruction but I have no idea. What's really strange is I can't find any other reports of OP5's in particular that only have one IMEI. It makes sense older models would have one IMEI since it used to be common practice before 2016 but it's odd for a phone released in 2017. Does anyone else have a guess about this, or does anyone else have a OP5, OP5T, or OP6 with only one IMEI? My best guess would be it was done under instruction from O2 for some reason given that's where my phone came from and their staff stated on the forums it's normal but I can't be sure it's directly linked to them. Posted: 02 Sep 2018 01:22 PM PDT Hey there, as the title suggests my OP6 can't connect to the internet or make calls. The WiFi appears to be connected (full signal etc) and the network seems to have full signal too, but I can't even contact my carrier, open any page or run a speedtest. I was on a Messenger call and it just dropped on me and ever since I've tried Airplane mode, restarts etc. and nothing is working. Any idea what I can do ? Do you think that's software related ? I'll wait it off until the morning to see if it fixes itself and then I'll do a full restore. I have contacted support but they are not available at this time. Edit: It fixed itself, but I would still like to know the root of this issue :) If anyone has any similar experience share it! [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 02 Sep 2018 08:37 AM PDT So yesterday I was playing around with my phone and I tapped my volume down knobs fast causing the "bell" icon of ring mode to change to a phone with sound waves coming out of it. Since then I haven't been able to change from ring mode to either "Do not disturb" or "Silent" modes. Moving the alert slider doesn't change the mode and no notification on the screen can be seen. It is as if I "locked" the mode by accident to ring only. I remember having a similar issue in the past and fixing it but I can't seem to find the solution this time. Open to suggestions. | Considering getting a OnePlus 5t/6 Posted: 01 Sep 2018 10:31 PM PDT I'm leaning towards the 5t due to it's lack of a notch, even though the notch on the 6 is AMOLED and easily disabled. Is there anything I'm missing out other than 60fps 4K recording, the SD845, and a few upgrades here and there? I'm not sure if there's an actual noticeable performance difference between the 835/845; I don't do anything really heavy other than some gaming. Also, should I get the 64 or 128 version? I don't really shoot video, but I have ~20GB in music and a lot of apps (mostly games, which would probably be another ~20 at max). If I opt for the 128GB version, the International version on Amazon is around $150 cheaper than the US version; is the only difference the accessories included in the box? Thanks!
