PSA: Vampire Falls: Origins has a file that has been flagged by BitDefender Antivirus

    Posted: 23 Sep 2018 07:43 PM PDT

    Hi everyone,

Like a lot of people here, i downloaded Vampire Falls after a lot of hype from the community. I recently decided to run a scan via bitdefender on my phone (I have a Samsung Note 8) and i received a Potential Threat warning.

Basically there's a PUA warning and the file states its a Riskware.agent.gDIUT meaning that something that can be exploited by malicious users and cause serious damage.

This should be fixed and should be addressed to the developer ASAP.

I can never find games that stick

    Posted: 23 Sep 2018 01:21 PM PDT

Is there any sites or subreddits that recommend good android games? Whenever I search I just get frustrated by the amount of cheap clones and quick cash grab games.

The majority of games I find usually depend on micro transactions or waiting for boxes to open to level up, I hate this system but for some reason the only game I have ever had stick is clash royale. I have no idea why but I enjoy that game

    Gacha + simplicity?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2018 03:55 PM PDT

I actually don't mind gacha games. I don't love them, but every now and then I need my fix.

What I DO mind is gacha games with fifteen different types of currency. Gold, crystals, fuse items , recruitment tickets, rare summoner summer event tickets, the list goes on and on.

Does anyone have a gacha game that doesntt have 9 popups about 6 different events every time I launch the app?

Top 30 Games by Daily Active Users on USA Playstore for August

    Posted: 23 Sep 2018 07:32 PM PDT

Here are the top 30 games on the USA playstore by Daily Active Users for August. Figures are formatted in millions.

Before people start saying "Where's Fortnite?", its not on the Playstore, so be quiet.

    1. Candy Crush Saga - 1.41m
    2. Roblox - 1.35m
    3. Clash of Clans - 1.28m
    4. Pokemon GO - 1.16m
    5. Clash Royale - 0.92m
    6. Candy Crush Soda Saga - 0.90m
    7. Words with Friends 2 - 0.77m
    8. Toon Blast - 0.73m
    9. PUBG Mobile - 0.69m
    10. Subway Surfers - 0.63m
    11. 8 Ball Pool - 0.60m
    12. Solitaire - 0.56m
    13. Toy Blast - 0.51m
    14. Homescapes - 0.50m
    15. Minecraft - 0.47m
    16. Helix Jump - 0.46m
    17. Wordscapes - 0.39m
    18. Gardenscapes - 0.39m
    19. Cookie Jam - Match 3 Games & Free Puzzle Game - 0.35m
    20. Lucky Day - Win Real Money - 0.35m
    21. Golf Clash - 0.35m
    22. Spider Solitaire - 0.33m
    23. Word Link - 0.33m
    24. Hole.io - 0.32m
    25. Candy Crush Jelly Saga - 0.32m
    26. Slither.io - 0.32m
    27. Hello Stars - 0.31m
    28. Slotomania™ Slots - Vegas Casino Slot Games - 0.30m
    29. Township - 0.30m
    30. Granny - 0.29m

    Observations:

    • King has 3 games in the top 30 including the top spot. Candy Crush Saga, Candy Crush Soda Saga and Candy Crush Jelly Saga. They also have a host of other highly played games that didn't quite make the top 30. For those who don't know King is owned by Activision-Blizzard (Call of Duty, Overwatch, Hearthstone, etc). Blame your Mom!

    • Supercell have 2 games in the top 5. Clash of Clans and it's spin-off Clash Royale, the only 2 strategy games to make the list. Their 2 other games Boom Beach and Hay Day both narrowly missed out on making the top 30. Boom Beach would have been #32. Supercell is owned by Tencent, who brang PUBG to mobile and also own Riot (League of Legends), and Miniclip which has 8 Ball Pool on this list.

    • Peak Games managed to get the same game in twice with Toon Blast and Toy Blast. Playrix Games are also guilty of this with Homescapes and Gardenscapes, but they also got Township.

    • Two Solitaire games, made by the same company, MobilityWare.

    • Hole.io and Helix jump are both made by VOODOO.

    • Minecraft is the only premium game to make the list.

I realize some people might be shocked that X game didn't make the list, maybe I missed it, but it probably just didn't make the cut. Ask here and I can check for you, or you can check yourself at similarweb.com

Anyone here guilty of playing any of these games?

    Anyone playing West Legends?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2018 12:45 PM PDT

I'm having a blast with this game. Picked it up out of boredom and haven't stopped playing. I think it could use a little tweaking when it comes to balance, but I enjoy the characters and the short queue times as well as short match times. Hope it's around for a while.

    Anyone else playing this?

I play this game a long time ago and I remember there was no music during battle. I was wondering if after all this time the game has music or not.

Mobile Gaming Industry Really Needs Improvement!

    Posted: 23 Sep 2018 10:10 PM PDT

Sorry if some of you don't like my opinion but according to me, mobile gaming nowadays is good only for casual gameplay but for those who are looking for a great experience, it is really frustrating. I have to travel a lot nowadays due to work and so I always am looking for good games which I can play on my phone on the go. My personal preference is a action (or action rpg) game with storyline. But mobile gaming is so shitty nowadays - First of all, most games are shitty on their own (their controls don't work properly or their concept is uninteresting or their gameplay is fucked up, etc) or are shitty clones of good PC or console games. Most don't have any engaging storyline and generally consist of repetitive game play which gets boring easily. In case you find a good game with nice story and gameplay, you willl need to pay extra bucks to even play it properly - either you run out of "coins" or "diamonds". There are some that don't even allow you to go to the next level till you pay -either directly stopping you or asking money for item which is definitely required. This gets really problematic in multiplayer as shitty players but with lots of spare cash will definitely destroy your sorry ass with ultra weapons, armours, etc.

An example is Grim souls - it is a wonderful game where you have to survive by fighting and crafting in a medieval world ( with swords, warriors, dungeons, etc) outrun by zombie plague. If you need to travel between places, you spend energy - Without using it, you travel very slowly like taking 15 minutes for few seconds travel. This energy replenishes itself very slowly - 1 point in 5 mins. Thus, after few travels, you exhaust it pretty easily and now you are stuck with two options - wait hours to get it replenished or spend some bucks to get replenish it instantly (you can also view ads for little replenishment but they are not always present). That's not all - you have to compete with other players for resources while still fighting out zombies (some of which are weirdly fast) and so while you are going out with a crude club, the other rich player with beautifully crafted sword cuts you immediately. The game itself is amazing but all this really ruins everything we love about gaming...

What the hell happened to Alto's Adventure?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2018 09:47 PM PDT

I remember buying and enjoying the quiet and calm atmosphere of alto a few years ago. It's one of the few games that remain on my phone mainly due to how relaxing it is.

However; I opened it up today to an ugly sight, filled with paid unlocks, ads and on top of that, my progress had been reset. I'm absolutely livid. This fucking game wa gorgeous, it won awards and merited a sequel for fucks sake. And now it's got shitty paid characters? (several dollars each too) and ads! ADS in a game I paid full prove for. The fuck.

    Sword of Xolan
    Cat Bird

    Choose your own adventure games

    Posted: 23 Sep 2018 08:17 PM PDT

I'm looking for more Android games in this tiny genre, and in return, I'd like to recommend three games I played which scratched this itch:

    • Magium is the best example of these games I've played so far. It reads just like a good fantasy book, but with choices. The pacing is probably the best part of this game, everything's introduced at a good time. It's obviously not as good as a crpg like KOTOR, but it does its own thing very well. Funnily enough, the player's stats are actually canon in this game, and not a representation of game mechanics. You can have conversations with your party about levelling up your agility, and the mechanic has a bit of mystery to it too. 5 stars.

    • Medieval Fantasy RPG is as normal as the name suggests. The writing was very "3 stars". Still, that's better than nothing, and the world is well-built. There were a few places where I could have avoided losing health by doing something that made complete sense in retrospect, and those were cool when they happened. The system for unlocking new chapters is a very good balance between money for the creator and fun for us. 4 stars.

    • Choice of the Dragon is short and sweet. Playing as a powerful dragon is certainly a unique experience. In addition, this game's stat system is innovative: when you hatch a plot to defeat the humans, your cunning and finesse go up, but your honour and brutality go down. When you neglect your evil minions, your disdain increases but your vigilance decreases. Balancing these to finish the story as the dragon I wanted to be was fun. I'm eagerly awaiting the next part. 4 stars.

So, r/androidgaming, TELL ME WHAT TO PLAY NEXT!

Finally finished X-COM enemy within... Now what?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2018 06:16 PM PDT

I finally got around to playing through to the end... Loved every second of it, but now I'm done I feel like I have an empty X-COM shaped hole in me.

What else can I play that will fill that gap? I mean I can go back with 2nd wave settings, but I kinda want new content.
