It was never dropped, still has the OG screen protector on it and the only time it left the case was for cleaning. Last Wednesday the screen stopped responding to touches. After using the unbrick tool, I called OP and they told me to submit a ticket. On Thursday the RMA was approved, subject to inspection. I expected the worst. Monday - email saying they got my device. Dealing with the "Acer repair center" was a pleasant experience. YMMV [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 30 Aug 2018 12:31 PM PDT My wife and I are both using OnePlus One's and we're running the last release of Sultan's ROM (Sultan, if you're reading this, you are a legendary bad ass!). We're both on T-Mobile. I've noticed a problem where it seems like text messages don't always come in if we've passed back and forth between wifi and LTE. Like, if I'm on LTE, and come home and connect to wifi, and then leave, the mobile signal indicator remains generic looking, no LTE indication. Quite often there will be intermittent text messages that won't come in, or even phone calls that go strait to voice mail (which really annoys my wife when she's trying to get ahold of me). Rebooting solves this, temporarily. I'm wondering if anyone might have a suggestion about a possible fix, or perhaps another ROM I might try. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

If I go to Settings -> Battery -> Battery optimisation I can specify that certain apps are not optimised (I am assuming this will let them run as they like and stop them being killed by the OS?); however, after a few days, apps are being removed from the "Not optimised Apps" list, meaning they are liable to being killed. (The apps in question are things like GPS route loggers - I'm aware that this might use lots of battery, but still want them to run as their developer intended - is there some other way to do this?) | OP5 Briefly Submerged in Water Posted: 30 Aug 2018 10:37 AM PDT I realize that water under power can cause corrosion--I enjoy watching repair videos from Rossman who fixes Apple related projects, and have done a little basic SMD work. Anyways somehow my phone was dropped into freshwater for about 2 seconds, and I quickly dried it off. I ripped off the case, the back was still dry from the case, I powered it off quickly, etc. I tossed it into a bag with a chemical based dehumidifier (IE a DampRid knockoff), and let it set 18 hours. The humidity in the bag according to a probe was about 35%, and so I'd assume it's relatively dry. Now it's in a workshed inside of a bag with the desiccant and it's 100F there roughly. Overall for a brief powerup it seems to work 24 hours later after the incident. I realize in a perfect world I should open it up, however, based off of one's experience how water resistant is the OP5, and is opening it up totally merited? I'd prefer to leave it powered off for another day or two--as I am not accustomed to pulling apart phones, and am in the middle of nowhere so there's no shop I can toss $75 to for them to open it up. | One Plus 6 Stuck in Fastboot Loop Posted: 30 Aug 2018 11:25 AM PDT I was using my phone on Sunday, last app used was bacon reader. I turned off the screen and next time I picked up the phone it was in a primary boot mode screen. It gave these options: Start, Restart Boot loader, Recovery Mode, and Power Off. If I select any of these options it restarts and goes back to the same screen. Tech support has not been able to help over the past 10 emails and keeps asking the same or similar questions without moving forward. This is a frustrating process currently 5 days in to not having a working phone. - A) What happened? The phone is a midnight black edition with original factory settings minus updates pushed to the phone from OnePlus. I think it installed Oxygen OS last week. The phone did not have USB mass Storage enabled so it does not pop up when plugged in by USB as a drive. However it is listed as an Android device under devices, and allows a USB safe ejection. The Oneplus 6 looks pretty good, but I'm always wary about proprietary charging tech, since I tend to move my phone around during the day. I've tried the ones that have been recommended in this sub, but the front facing camera takes glitchy, completely pink pictures and the back portrait mode tints the picture very blue. | Unable to unlock my phone after 5.1.5 update Posted: 30 Aug 2018 05:55 PM PDT After updating my phone to OOS 5.1.5 and enabling their new quick unlock feature that's supposed to unlock the phone as soon as the pin has been entered correctly, I can no longer access my phone. My PIN is 5 digits long, but the feature tries to submit the PIN after the 4th digit and fails. Any ideas on how to solve this? I've tried rebooting and wiping cache/dalvik with no luck. | Hello, I need help with my phone which keeps rebooting itself (oneplus 5T) Posted: 30 Aug 2018 08:32 AM PDT Yeah, so I've had Magisk, twrp and Viper4Android on my phone for over half a year now and everytime there is an OTA update, I update it, re-flash TWRP and install magisk and viper, this time after i installed it, my phone started to reboot everytime i booted up the phone and was in the OS for about 30 seconds, its so stupid and annoying On a sidenote, the phone keeps restarting to TWRP, not restarting, so I suspect something went wrong with the Viper4Android installation (I used the ARISE Deuterenomy installer to install Viper) Do i do factory reset or is there still hope? (oh and i dont have backups because im a dumbass that forgets to backup his phone.) [link] [comments]  |

It has 2 apps and every time i restart my phone it has to "optimize" apps for 20 minutes. I cleared my cache in the settings and in the boot menu but i don't want to nuke my whole phone. Suggestions? I'm planning on buying a pre paid sim card to get 4G internet while there but need to know if there are any specific networks I should be looking at or if it's not gonna happen at all.
