She said that she heard laughing coming from her iphone while she was browsing Instagram in her bed. She said that there were no videos playing, and it seemed like a group of people laughing at her. She's worried that someone is watching her remotely through her cameras. She's covered her camera with tape, and is talking about replacing her phone. I have no idea why she heard laughing, but it seems weird that the reason would be people watching her. Why would a hacker turn on their microphone when watching iphone cameras? And then I need to get things set up with a header ("The title" on the left and "Page # of #" on the right) and a Footer (with whatever is relevant from that page, i.e. each page different). It keeps wanting to make the footer of each page exactly the same, no matter whether I it do first or last, first). For instance, footnotes from page 2 show on page 1, 2, 3... And then if I change (or don't (It doesn't matter)) the ones on page 2 to "different from page 1," they still all show the same on page 1, 2, 3, 4, et cetera. And if I change page 3 to "different from page 1," and edit it, pages 1, 2, 4, et cetera will all be the same. Sorry if I don't answer until the afternoon. But I have been recovering lately and need my rest. And please spare the comments about using free licensing apps or how I should use Ubuntu or anything suggesting a different app or OS. I'm certain you're right that they are 10x better. But I don't have those options and I really need to get this done . [link] [comments]  |
| How to troubleshoot my ethernet port ? Posted: 10 Aug 2018 12:45 AM PDT Hi ! For months now I've had troubles with my internet connection. Most of the time it works perfectly but sometimes it down right shuts down randomly for a period of time. I've contacted my ISP and after months of back and forth they assure me that there's no problem with the service I've been provided and everything looks fine on their end. So what I did: - Virus scan and Malware scan - Wait for the internet to fuck up again and tried using WiFi with my phone and it turns out that my internet connection seems to work fine in wireless mode - Change ethernet cable and router (provided by ISP during troubleshooting) - Tried different speed tests to see where the problem lies exactly when internet slows dow and it seems to be that my upload speed goes down the sink, sometimes even reaching 0 and losing connection with the server (download seems fine though) What I still need to test: - Dust off and clean my PC (long overdue) - My PC's ethernet port and/or NIC and that's where I need your help. How do I proceed ? I noticed that there is no "click" sound anymore whenever I plug my ehternet cable, does this matter ? My PC is running on Windows 10 with an ASUS B85 PRO-GAMER motherboard BIOS version 0205 (02/17/2014) Thanks ! [link] [comments]  |

I turned it off normally last night and today when I started it, I noticed it kept re starting itself. It shows the "starting windows" logo but after that the screen goes black and nothing happens. When j re boot it, it'll show the "error recovery" "do you want to boot normally or in safe mode?" Screen. Also when I reboot it, I noticed I can't access the BIOS because the keyboard won't turn on until it hits the starting windows screen. I've tried plugging the keyboard into different usb slots and nothing changed. I used a different keyboard and got the same result. I have a MSI Z97 motherboard Any ideas on what I can do? | Posted: 09 Aug 2018 09:52 PM PDT Hey there! I have a Logitech Webcam, model C615, and up until now, it worked perfectly! Never had any issues with it. But, overnight, it just stopped working. I went to video chat with a friend on Discord and it wasn't recognizing the webcam. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and thought I fixed it as I now had video. Not 10 seconds later, my entire computer was frozen and the light on the webcam turned off. I did a hard reboot and tried again. Same results, entire PC freezes, light on webcam goes off. I started fiddling with it, unplugging and plugging back in. The light on the webcam will come on for a split second and them turn off again. I uninstalled all the Logitech drivers and software, thinking a fresh install would help, it didn't. I tried every other USB port on my computer, still no good. I even bought a cheap webcam and that didn't work, so this is obviously something wrong with the PC. I'm losing my damn mind trying to get this to work. Currently I am at a stalemate with my computer as, upon Startup I receive the message of an Unsupported Video Configuration Detected Prompting me to Turn off the computer, plug a cable from the Graphics card into the Monitor, then turn on the computer. I have already installed the driver using the onboard Graphics of the computer. I figure the configuration message can attest to the graphics card being recognized by the computer, even with the 2x6 into 6/8 Pin issue. Is it just the PCI-E Connector configuration issue, or is there something else that I could potentially try, or am I just going to have to buy the 6 Pin to 8 Pin Adapter. [link] [comments]  |

| Having a hard time troubleshooting intermittent BSODs in windows 10. Posted: 10 Aug 2018 03:43 AM PDT Ryzen 5 1600, MSI B350 board, 16GB of corsair RAM, 520w seasonic PSU. System is one year old. latest BIOS and windows versions installed. A bit of background: In July I got quite a few freezes (no BSODs) that, after some testing, I ascribed to my CPU and/or RAM overclock(s) not being stable anymore due to summer heat. The freezes occured a couple times in near-idle conditions (browsing for examples) and a few times while gaming. I got back to the drawing board, slightly decreased the overclocks and thoroughly tested my system again. The RAM passed 2000% coverage in HCI memtest, the CPU was stable under harsh conditions (I tested it with very high passes of intelburntest, a few hours of handbrake and asus realbench). This happened two weeks ago. I have been working on a big Adobe Premiere project this past month or two and I was going to work on it this morning when I got a bluescreen while the footage was loading (it uses up all the RAM then releases it once it's loaded usually). IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, the problematic driver apparently being ntoskrnl.exe according to bluescreenview. I was surprised, since I'd recently make absolutely sure my system was stable. I then completely reset my RAM overclock and downclocked my CPU even more, then tried opening my Premiere project, and got another blue screen. This time, it was SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, problematic driver being ntoskrnl.exe once again. I don't know how to interpret this mess anymore. If the RAM was barely unstable at high clocks, causing issues, how could it still be a problem at stock clocks? Could it be data corruption caused by bad overclocks in the past months? FYI, I couldn't consistently replicate freezes last month and I can't consistently replicate BSODs now. I just tried opening Premiere and it was fine, so I don't know what to think. I can't seem to get away from these intermittent issues. I hope I won't have to reinstall windows or RMA the RAM. After I watched, I uninstalled it. Didn't notice anything wrong, or anything like that. just didn't want it anymore. I remember when installing it asked me to allow the chrome extension "Ace Script" and I hit no. I reinstalled chrome just now, and after a fresh install, it shows this: https://imgur.com/a/GZqAq1N I'm shocked because I completely forgot about this, yet even after a fresh install it shows it. I hit remove, but as the image says, it says another program on my computer added this extension. I don't have ace stream on my computer anymore and haven't had it for at least 2 months. I tend to run scans on my computer weekly, and nothing has come up as a virus/malware. anyone know how I can get to the bottom of what is causing this? [link] [comments]  |

I have to open 'Device Manager', click the the 'Display adaptors' drop down, disable the Intel(R) HR Graphics 4000 device (which is what is connected to my second monitor), then enable it again, for it to start working. Posted: 10 Aug 2018 03:08 AM PDT We've got a Mac mini (IIRC a 2011 one, but haven't really checked), and currently have Sierra (having upgraded from El Capitan), but may upgrade to High Sierra soon and husband wants an external HD since he thinks the current HD isn't big enough. He's looking at 4-5TB and wants to format it in HFS+, said he won't buy Seagate as he's seen bad reviews on it. He wants to look on eBay but I'm not sure where to get the best? He wants around 4-5TB to include family photos and maybe run some apps off it. Ideally, though he wants something like 30TB to store all his files on as a backup, but surely there's no drive that big?? Wouldn't you need several drives? I am not an expert on anything to do with Macs even though I use one a lot, only used it since 2010 (think it was Mountain Lion, IIRC) and need some help. Bit of a newbie to this and need some help! Posted: 10 Aug 2018 03:05 AM PDT https://i.imgur.com/uFaSrMq.jpg As you can see in this screenshot my GPU and CPU nowhere near close at 100% usage while running game Fortnite, but my RAM is at 7GB+ (total of 8GB) and on top of that the game is eating 11GB of pagefile?! The game requirement is 4GB RAM and 8GB as 'recommended' and all benchmark videos of this game on YouTube doesn't make it past 5GB RAM. Problem is, as the game has high FPS, CPU/GPU at 50% usage and I get stutters and lag and feels like dragging/delay when moving mouse around, etc. My RAM and mobo are real old from ~2011-2012 (Ivy LGA1155 era), but CPU is i7-3770 and GPU is GTX 1060 so these are not the problem? RAM is 2x4GB 1333Mhz DDR3 (OC'ed in BIOS to 1600Mhz). If this memory usage and behavior is normal, then what's the problem? [link] [comments]  |

| PC crashes with loud buzzing noise through speakers. Posted: 10 Aug 2018 02:23 AM PDT I built my pc 3 months ago and it was working perfectly fine until last night. The first hard crash happend when i restarted my computer and tried to load a game whilst chrome was loading. my cpu had pretty high usage but the temps were under 45, same with gpu (38). after the hard crash my computer would continue to restart before i could get to windows. then on one reboot i got a bios screen asking telling me something along the lines of boot failure, load optimised defaults. so i selected it and Ta Da booted to windows and chrome loaded correctly. i tried to play a game and it worked fine for half an hour but then it came back. hard lock at windows with loud buzzing sounds. now i tried troubleshooting starting by making sure all cables were seated , de dusting everything, unplugging extra hard drives and extensions like my 24 pin, clearing the cmos by taking out battery. replacing all extension and power cables to the pc. and reseating the ram. after all this it still kept restarting. i gave up for an hour and went for dinner but when i came back it booted. i thought it would come back so i took this time to research some fixes. one suggested disabling extra audio devices (like nvidia hd audio , hdmi out , monitor audio ect...) and then i restarted and under clocked my ram from 1600 to 1066. Now it does seem to work alright, i was able to watch youtube for a couple hours and the pc was on whilst i was sleeping and didn't have any issues. i would have tested games but by this time it was half 11 and i was tired. i now need to go back and redo my overclocks and i need to set my memory timings.but im scared that if i change anything the issue will persist. Pc 4770k was at 4.2 @1.3v i think 2x8gb hyper x beast 1866 2x4gb hyper x beast 2400 all set to 1066 gigabyte z87x oc force corsair cx 750m gtx 1080 w/ekwb 2xtoshiba hdd 2x ssd , 1x kingston 240gb 1x intel 120gb 520 series(boot drive) custom loop for cooling. im wondering if anyone knows why this is happening. did i not test everything? what did i miss? can a bad windows install cause boot failure at the bios level. can a bad ssd cause crashes before i get to windows. im just not sure.
