    Remote control application

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 09:11 AM PDT

Hello, everyone! I am looking for an IR remote control application for my Mi A1. I see quite a lot of apps in the Play Store, but some ask ridiculous permissions or seem to be tied to some other kind of service. I just need to control TVs, VCRs, and satellite decoders. Which one do you think is the best one? Thanks!

Hey all! I'm looking for an app that would allow one to put .gif overlays on videos, much like this app for iOS. Any suggestions?

Wakey - Simple & Beautiful Alarm Clock

    Posted: 29 Aug 2018 07:21 PM PDT

Wakey is a cute & gentle animated alarm clock for Android, featuring a spectacular design and an immersive experience.

Our bloat-free approach means Wakey is a dedicated alarm clock app, with no added features (timer, stopwatch, etc)

With our smiling sunrise, and grumpy lunar animations, this is the most unique alarm clock the universe. Or at least in our solar system! 🤣

Suspicious WhatsApp clone, Zap Chat Messenger, in Play Store

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 06:38 AM PDT

I found this app in the top 10 of most downloaded communication apps and it's very weird that it looks almost exactly as WhatsApp. It has 5 million downloads! I read sometimes about malicious apps that have millions of downloads. Does anybody have informations about this Zap Chat? I'm curious!

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.telegram.messenger.erick.lite

Play Store link is also suspicious. It says Telegram.

    Thanks.

Apps that need for SafetyNet to pass

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 04:59 AM PDT

If I root my phone and SafetyNet fails, what are the principal apps that I will lose access to? I know bank apps are an example but I would like to know what else.

(I already know that SafetyNet can pass with Magisk in case one wants that)

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 07:16 AM PDT

I was going through my google device security settings and saw a weird device that I didn't recognize and I revoked device access. Then I go to my phone later and realize i revoked my YT Vanced access. So my question is, how do I re enable it so I can sign in again? The app installs fine. Thanks.

A problem with Find my Android

    Posted: 29 Aug 2018 08:17 PM PDT

I lost my phone in a store. I knew it was close by so I wanted to locate my phone using my friends phone so I could ping it. However I was unable to log in because my friends phone was not recognized device. I had to either enter a validation code sent to my phone (which was lost) or login from a recognized device ( at home). Unless I missed something this seems like a major design fault that hampers the usefulness of the app. Thanks

Need help with an app and/or suggestion of a new eBook reading app

    Posted: 29 Aug 2018 01:23 PM PDT

Hi! A couple of months ago, I downloaded FBReader and after reading a few books on it, I decided to try the pro version. But it seems that zooming on texts or images on FBReader is impossible for epub files. This is creating a lot of problem for me to read the books which are made available with small texts and don't fill up the entire space in my phone. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem, or do I need to download a different app to read the ebooks in epub format which would help me zoom into the text?

    Example of the problem: https://imgur.com/a/KYM5VFw

    One handed keyboard apps

    Posted: 29 Aug 2018 04:12 PM PDT

My father is recovering from a brain injury and can only use his left hand (this is his dominant hand). He has had trouble typing with his phone. Are there any keyboards that are designed to be used for people with physical disabilities that might help him type more easily? A keyboard with larger than standard buttons would be beneficial as well.

Suggestions for anything that helps speech to text might also be helpful, but my father is pretty set in his ways so I'm not sure I can get him to use speech to text, so at least as a first step finding a more accessible keyboard that I can install for him will probably be more effective.

Which of these apps is best for hiding the Nav Bar completely? (Not immersive mode)

    Posted: 29 Aug 2018 01:37 PM PDT

    Just a note:

    TOGGLE IS REQUIRED

Phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note8

ADB Command to push the nav bar down isn't going to work. I have to be able to toggle the nav bar back on if I want it.

Here are the only two apps I've found that appear lightweight.

    1. *Hide Nav Bar * (companion to One Plus Gestures app) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivianuu.hidenavbar

    2. XDA Gestures App

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xda.nobar

I own the full paid version(s) of both apps and have used them a bit

I am going to use Samsung GoodLock OneHandOperation App.

I love the Samsung side options and it works better and faster than the other two. I also use NOVA Gestures.

So which hide nav app works better? If I use the XDA I am toggling off the pill use. I don't use it right now.

They both give me a notification icon I can use to toggle on and off on the quick settings.

Status bar I can semi hide with Nova Launcher, and it's a little more neceasary anyway.

Which one crashes least? Does either hog memory? Both apps are small, like 11 and 16 megs so space is no issue.

    Thanks

Vobr is Swiss Army Knife for improving vocabulary in a foreign language by creating flashcards. Spaced Repetition System included.

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 12:30 AM PDT

Hey! I made an application for improving vocabulary(Spanish, English, German, Croatian, Norwegian, Tagalog, Portuguese, French are supported). It is based on the flashcards and spaced repetition system. The app can automatically translate the word, find a usage example. You can add a word using speech or image recognition. Turn unknown words into Vobr's flashcards and learn them using spaced repetition system.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.vobr.astronaut.vobrapp

I really need feedback and regular users. Hope you enjoy the application. If you have a friend, who are learning a language, share it with them.

    [REQUEST] Batch audio conversion app

    Posted: 29 Aug 2018 12:46 PM PDT

Anyone know of a decent app that allows you to convert multiple audio files at a time? I've run across several that do single files but I've got a couple of flac albums that I want to convert to aac or ogg to save space and I'd like to avoid doing each of the several hundred tracks individually if possible.
