UNLOCKING: The process is simplified and the permission is granted automatically :)

    Posted: 27 Jul 2018 10:36 AM PDT

I just bought my Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus 64GB Blue :D and after much Googling, I arrived to the page on Xiaomi website to request to unlock my smartphone.

I stumbled upon this page: http://en.miui.com/thread-246705-1-1.html where it says:

The process is simplified and the permission is granted automatically. You don't have to fill in any application form or wait for the SMS anymore.

Now to install Virtualbox - because I use Debian and then head to MS to download the MS10 ISO :D

    Making some progress! :P

edit: i forgot how to insert quote box, lol

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3's design might have been leaked by MIUI 10

Xiaomi should launch wireless earbuds like the Airpods!

    Posted: 27 Jul 2018 02:14 PM PDT

The tittle pretty much says it all. There's a lack of a product that can be used with the flagships that don't have Jack for earphones. Minimalistic design, good battery and a Nice case.

The only alternative we have right now is the wireless earbuds for sports but the purpose isn't the same.

    Whyred bootloader issue

    Whyred bootloader issue

Recently i've bought redmi note 5 (china version), then when i boot it up it says unlocked on the boot screen, the next thing i do was check wether it really is unlocked or not, on mi unlock status page it really says unlocked, yet when i try to boot twrp it crashes my phone. The good thing is it didnt completely bricking my phone. The next logical thing i do was to check bootloader status via fastboot and to my surprise it says "device unlocked: false". Then i tried to unlock it via mi unlock tool to see if it can unlocked or not. But, when i try it there is a message "Current account is not bound in this device". Is there anyone ever facing issue like this before, or maybe had any idea to what solution might do?

    mi8SE 4gb vs 6gb

    Posted: 27 Jul 2018 08:00 PM PDT

Price difference is 200RMB ($30 US). Is there a need for 6gb in any scenario? I dont play games, but would it speed up overall performance?

How long do you have to wait to unlock the bootloader on the Redmi Note 5?

    Posted: 27 Jul 2018 07:27 PM PDT

And what are the major differences between the roms? Do they update by themselves? Or do you have to keep flashing the latest update?

Mi Max 2 or Mi Pad 4 for daughter?

    Posted: 27 Jul 2018 06:54 PM PDT

Looking for a tablet (maybe phablet) for my 6 year old. Not sure which would better option for her. It's to replace her Samsung tablet which I think is a little to heavy for her. Both seem similar in price based on aliexpress. What do you recommend?

    Mi Vacuum version 1

    Posted: 27 Jul 2018 01:50 PM PDT

A few days ago my mi vacuum was on and my back door was open and it went outside. Since then when I put it on auto clean it goes in circles and bangs into obstacles until I get an error and it asks me to reset. I've reset it a few times.

However when I go into the remote control option I can clean the house as normal with no issues. I'm controlling it. Has anyone experienced this? I've wiped the sensors and nothing is blocking the wheels. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Wanted: Mi notebook air(2017/2018) buying advice

    Posted: 27 Jul 2018 04:32 PM PDT

I recently got my tax return back and I was wanting to buy the 13" mi air, though I realise that this model seems to be refreshed every 12 months, would it be safe to assume that a next generation will be coming out in a few months with a coffee lake processor, and is it worth waiting for?

Secondly has anyone gone to China and bought one of these, I was looking at purchasing one off aliexpress that would come in at ~$1400AUD(8th gen i5 model, Inc GST and import taxes) , though given I'm planning a trip to China in the near future can I purchase this domestically cheaper(if there is price parity I would expect to get it >$1200AUD after not having to import it), if so where in China do people purchase these goods?

How do I see what system apps are running on the background with MIUI?

    Posted: 27 Jul 2018 11:04 AM PDT

On base Android, you could do that by going to the developers options. Can't find that on Miui. Where do you have to tap 10 times to enable that option?

    Hi! Problem with my device.

    Posted: 27 Jul 2018 02:49 PM PDT

I have a Mi5s Plus. So i updated to the miui 10 global rom and my phone is locked.

I need to sign in to my Mi Account that i suppose i opened when visiting the forums. long story short, I dont have the account email or password, only a phone number which i can't reset my password with because the phone cant get sms messages on ROM setup.

    Yi Lite Audio issues

    Hi everyone,

I have an issue with my Yi Lite camera. It splits clips into parts (9:02) but at the end of every part i have no sound.

It doesn't make any difference if i look at the clip directly from the camera or if i transfer it to my phone or PC.

The firmware i'm using is up to date. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Friend has quiet headphone volume on RN5 Global

    Posted: 27 Jul 2018 12:44 PM PDT

Hello, I own a Redmi note 5 dual ai global and I love it. No complaints.

My friend has literally bought the same phone, from the same seller on Ali Express, and is even on the same version as me (9.5.19.0) but is complaining that his headphone volume is quiet, irrespective of what app he uses.

Is there a fix for this? I don't think telling him he is going to have to root his phone / flash TWRP / custom ROM will be satisfactory for him.

    Thank you
