Dropped AKG Earphones In Water - S9+ Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:42 AM PDT So oddly enough my earphones managed to slip from my jumper pocket right into the sink which at the time had running water, I switched off the tap and didn't notice my earphones disappeared, I continued on though, 5 minutes later realising. I went back, pulled them out and expected them to be gone completely or at least somewhat distorted, after a quick dry over with a towel and a couple minutes to themselves, they worked perfeclty fine surprisingly. How did they manage to survive being submerged and under running water? [link] [comments]
My S7 edge is the most disappointing phone I've ever had. Posted: 30 Jul 2018 11:24 PM PDT Samsung, this is not how you win over new costumers. When I bought my S7 edge 2 years ago, I was hoping to embrace Android and leave Apple behind, permanently. I did my research, read reviews, and saw videos on mobile phones. Back in 2016, the S7 seemed to stand out with rave reviews. I was hooked and dropped $850 on a phone I hoped would serve me usefully for a long time. Needless to say, it did not work out that way. Problem 1: The bright, pink neon line, Chapter I A mere 6 months into my purchase, I was loving my S7 and fully embracing all the quirks and abilities of Android, until one day a bright, pink line appeared on the screen. I googled what to do and found some quick but temporary solutions that only made the line go away for a short period of time until it came back. I finally surrendered and took my phone to the Samsung Service Center, hoping to get a gree repair as my phone was under a 1 year warranty. Despite my S7 edge being in perfect condition (I always use a case and screen protector) the Samsung employee tried to make me pay for the repair because I "had probably caused the damage by dropping the phone". Eventually, I sorted out the situation with the manager and he agreed that the damage was covered by the warranty and was in no way my fault. Problem 2: The baffling case of the broken camera glass One day as I was arriving home I took out my S7 Edge out of my pocket and discovered that the camera glass was completely broken despite the phone being in a case and not suffering any sort of drop or hit. How this happened, I don't know, but once again I took my phone to the Samsung Service Center for the repair. Now, I knew I had to pay for the repair because exterior damage wasn't covered under the warranty, but I didn't expect them to take my phone for 3 days and charge me $180. Turns out that instead of just replacing the camera glass, they replaced the back panel, the screen, the battery and the camera glass. Apparently they had to replace all those components to "make sure my phone could still be water resistant" but I think it was just an excuse to bill me a ridiculous amount of money over a small square of glass. Fine, I guess. Problem 3: Unreliability issues, not built to last As I was experiencing all these hardware issues with my phone over the first year of its usage the one thing I could rely on was great, speedy and responsive software. After a year or so, that started to change. Buggy, unresponsive UI. My S7 was constantly heating up for no reason. Suddenly, it couldn't handle more than 4 or 5 apps open at the same time. Apps randomly crash. All phones eventually start to wear down, but more such an expensive phone, having it happen so quickly is unacceptable. Problem 4: the bright, pink neon line, Chapter II Just as my warranty was expiring, the pink line on my screen reappeared. Once again I had to take it to the service center for a repair. I explained how it was a reoccurring problem and they agreed to just barely extend my warranty another 3 months if the pink line appeared again. Problem 5: the bright, pink neon line, Chapter III Exactly four months later, the pink line appeared again. I threw in the towel; there was no way I would go to the Service center and fight over a repair again. I accept the fact that I would have to live with this obnoxious bright pink line. The worst part? It keeps expanding Problem 6: The screen turns off when the phone gets even remotely hot! Wtf?!! It doesn't work until it cools down. I've had to put my phone in the refrigerator!! And to top it all off, I dropped it down a flight of carpeted starirs yesterday and I now have a spiderweb crack all over my screen. FML. Buying the iPhone XI when it comes out, they may be overpriced and fragile but at least they're consistent. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jul 2018 06:45 AM PDT Hello, I have the S7 Edge. I want to purchase a smartwatch soon to combine the features of the two watches that I have now: A general activity tracker, and a running watch. The most important features that I want to combine into one watch are: Durability, GPS tracking for runs, heart rate monitoring, android app accessibility (calls, weather, other random apps), music player (preferably compatible with spotify), and a decent alarm. One product that I found (Samsung Gear Sport Watch) pretty much has all that I want, however it is pretty much the most that I would want to pay for a watch. I would appreciate if anybody shared their advice on alternatives that are cheaper but still meet the above requirements. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jul 2018 06:31 AM PDT I have just dropped my Samsung Galaxy S7 and now it is broken on both, the front and the back side. I am so pissed with myself, as I had it only for 1,5 year. I am not into gadgets, so I usually buy a new phone when the previous one is dead. I was satisfied with S7 and now I am wondering, if it is worth to upgrade. I would buy a case for my phone this time as well as I don't trust myself anymore. [link] [comments]
Different battery readings from two different Note 4's? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 03:53 AM PDT I have an N910S and an N910C, and I recently noticed they don't read battery levels identically. For example, the same battery will be listed at 39% inside the N910S, but when I put it inside the N910C, that phone says 62%. Any idea why this happens? [link] [comments]

Data from the standard music app Posted: 31 Jul 2018 12:51 AM PDT Does anybody know if I can see some data about my use of the app? Something like hours listened, what songs I have listened to the most, etc. I'm very eager to find this out since I have had samsungs for ~4 years now. (It's about the standard 'Samsung Music' application) [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 12:43 AM PDT Forced to reset phone due to bad update tonight. After logging into Samsung account, I expected the phone to RESTORE my paid theme, gallery photos, & also home screen setup (folders, etc) ... but no joy....Nothing restored... Any suggestions? Actually, phone doesn't show my Samsung theme purchase at all :( Advice appreciated much :-) [link] [comments]
What are your honest opinions on the S9 camera? Posted: 30 Jul 2018 11:55 PM PDT Mine seems to be crap. Everytime I try and take a picture it looks blurry. It doesn't look crisp to me or sharp or focused or anything. An iPhone 6 camera looks better. And maybe I'm just frustrated with it right now so sorry for that mini rant. [link] [comments]
Anyone else's s8/s9 not vibrate with notifications if you have edge lighting on for an app? Posted: 30 Jul 2018 03:05 PM PDT Don't know if it's a feature or something, I really like the edge lighting but unlike other notifications my phone doesn't vibrate when notifications come through with edge lighting (theres still sound though). It's a shame since if the phone's in my pocket on silent, I'll have no idea I just got a message or Snapchat without voluntarily checking my phone. Unless there's a fix I'll probably have to turn it off :( [link] [comments]
Help with setting up new device and syncs Posted: 30 Jul 2018 04:10 PM PDT Hey guys, got a 2nd phone (s8) for work and trying to set it up. I added my Samsung account because I would ideally like one account to monitor all my devices (2 phones and a tablet) using Find my Device and what not. I want to set this phone up as a completely new device. Is it possible to do that under one Samsung account without the inevitable syncing of all pictures/contacts/data across all devices. One phone has personal contacts/photos...and the new one I just want strictly work contacts and work related files. Would obviously like to back up each to the cloud as their own devices, but not sure this is possible with one Samsung account? Soon as I logged in, it synced all my photos and contacts to the new device - never got a prompt to set up as a new device or whatever. Any ideas if this is possible or if I need a whole new Samsung account for the new phone? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Does anyone else get blurry pictures when using the S9? Posted: 30 Jul 2018 08:06 PM PDT I'm not sure if it's me but every time I try and take a selfie or use auto it comes out as blurry. Even when I keep my hands still or rest the camera on a hard surface it still looks blurry. And all the tips I've found online have basically been "make sure to tap where you want it to focus" and I do that and I even lock it sometimes but the pictures come out as blurry and unfocused. Is this a problem with my phone or just across the board? I love this phone but I can't help but feel that even my old iPhone 6 focused and took sharper pictures better than the S9. How to install Samsung Messages v4.4.30.5? Posted: 30 Jul 2018 04:17 PM PDT I have a Galaxy S9+, and I would like to once again have the ability to set individual text tones for my contacts. As far as I have researched, this is the way to do it. If someone could walk me through how to download and install this it would be greatly appreciated! I am referring to the files from APK Mirror by the way. [link] [comments]
[55NU8000] Consistently rhythmic ticking on startup that slows down with time Posted: 30 Jul 2018 07:58 PM PDT I got a 55NU8000 today and I have very good hearing and noticed something... bizarre. Whenever powering on, the TV will emit a rhythmic ticking noise from right below the area where all the inputs are. This is not a creaking of the plastic chassis, but a very distinct "tick" at a specific rhythm. I pulled out my phone and hit the lap button every time I heard a tick. Sure enough for a whole span of several minutes-- Tick every 15 seconds, then a tick every 14 seconds, then a tick every 12 seconds, and so on. All the way down to every 5 seconds, and then it just stops. The noise is not very loud, but it's also not inaudible either. Is this a one-time thing when powering up from being unplugged? Is this going to happen on every single startup?! I can only assume this has to be some component initializing, but man this is odd and annoying on a brand new TV. Any comments on this? And oddly enough, there's one guy that is spamming the same comment of a similar nature for this set on several sites. Makes me wonder... [link] [comments]
