Posted: 27 Jul 2018 12:56 AM PDT Hello~ So I'm just now learning a bit more about my computer and just set up my first system, yey! BUT, I've run into a bit of a problem. I am a home graphic artist and gamer, I really would like to have dual screens like I had before while using a laptop and desktop screen. I have a desktop now and several monitors and cords to do what I assumed was fairly simple...it wasn't. I popped my DVI cable into the back of my graphics card and realized my card only took another DVI. Fine, not a problem I'll plug the other into the back of my motherboard since it seems to support it.........nothing, nada, zilch. I read up on it and I went into the BIOS hoping to turn it on, there was no 'enable' but there was a button called 'UMA' I pressed it, enabled it, saved. Still nothing. So I'm hear curious to find out if you guys can help me. Motherboard: System Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. System Model GA-78LMT-USB3 R2 Graphics card: Adapter Type GeForce GTX 770, NVIDIA compatible Adapter Description NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 [link] [comments]
Desktop going into turn on/off loop, but confusing Posted: 26 Jul 2018 03:10 PM PDT So I'm very confused at this point and I really don't know what to do. My computer is broken, and it basically works after long times of not using it, and then starts going into a cycle of turning on, posting, showing the windows logo, and turning immediately off, and then repeat. It usually does this in the same amount of time each time, and I have no other PSU to test with. I just replaced the thermal paste today, however that didn't fix anything. I've tried with just the psu, motherboard, and CPU and I'm pretty sure it has to be one of those three, but it's a little confusing because when I first encountered the problem I had used my computer for a few hours the day before (this was after a year of not using it at all, and the computer was still pretty clean) and then I woke up the next morning and it was doing this. I didn't bother with it till a week later, where I turn it on and it works fine, then it started doing this after I restarted. Today I replaced the thermal paste, it was working fine for an hour, and then this happens. Now I left it off for about 30mins and it's stable now, so I'm clueless. I'd like for it to be just the motherboard shorting, but the nature of it working makes me think it's something else. My PSU is also very good (Corsair AX1200i) so I would be pretty bummed if it were that. The system temperature seems to be sitting around 26 C and the CPU temp is 53 C. Anyway, I'll post specs below. Any help is appreciated, and I'll clear up anything that needs clarification or more info. Thanks! TL;DR CPU: i7 4770k GPU: GTX 660 PSU: AX1200i (refurbished, bought 2 years ago) Mobo: gigabyte GA-z87-hd3 EDIT: right after I posted this it had been running stable and I was in the BIOS screen recording the temp and writing up there ^ and then almost right after I clicked save and exit bios, it turned off and started turning on again. While it was restarting I went into the BIOS again and then it turns off as usual, not giving me enough time to see a temperature. This leads me to believe it is something to do with the motherboard, but I may be wrong. Also, the first thing I did when trying to fix the computer was replace the CMOS battery. Didn't change anything. [link] [comments]
What does this “https://static.quantcast.mgr.consensu.org/v3/cmp-3pc-check.html” mean? Posted: 26 Jul 2018 03:21 PM PDT It keeps popping up every time I go into a particular browser based app. The reason I am asking here is that I found that it is happening to others around the web on other web based services not related to my app when I did a google search to try and find out what it is, particularly in the last week or so.
