Is there an explorer app? Field of view à la Age of Empire / Scratch map. Posted: 03 May 2018 09:53 AM PDT Hey! Do anyone know if there is an app which lets you explore the world à la age of empire or like a scratch map? That only the maps nearest to your location are downloaded and that you have to physically move for more to be downloaded. Bonus if you "see" shorter at night and if it uses your height above the sea as a factor and perhaps that geocaching could be involved in some factor. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Is there an alternative to Hermit that sandboxes/isolates each lite app? Posted: 03 May 2018 06:59 AM PDT I'm using Hermit to use Google Maps, Gmail and Translate. I didn't install Gapps on the new ROM, but these services I have to keep using (signed out though), so I use it in the bare minimum. The problem is, Gmail needs to sign in, but Hermit doesn't sandbox the lite apps apparently, so I'm signed into Translate as well. Mysteriously, I'm not signed into Maps. Its impact is probably minimal in the grand scheme of things, but I have a slight ocd I guess. It's not a dealbreaker at all, but if it's possible then I'd like to avoid as much Google as I can. I've tried a work profile by using Island (by the dev of Greenify), but whenever an app is installed it's also "installed" in the work profile, which is a bigger annoyance than Hermit not sandboxing lite apps for me. Help finding a "to do-list" app that hides queued tasks Posted: 03 May 2018 12:40 AM PDT Basically, I don't want to see all of the things that I've been neglecting, but rather get to them in my own time. I like to be organized in order to reduce stress, but the more traditional task managers (or even pen and paper) ends up being just a long list of incomplete items which eventually just leads to more stress. What I want is something that'll just keep my tasks queued in the background until I push a button. Optionally I'd like the ability to randomize the list, and also add priorities (so if I need to do something by X date, it'll prioritize that). Further bonus points if I could also add an estimated time to complete, so if I have say 3 hours available, it wouldn't suggest something that takes all day. I realize this is a very specific wish list but the most important one is the ability to hide tasks, but so far I haven't found anything that does that. Any suggestions are appreciated. :) [link] [comments] |
Looking for a time tracker application Posted: 03 May 2018 05:08 AM PDT This is my first on Reddit and I hope I don't do wrong. I am looking for an application, more precisely a "time tracker application", I've tried many but none of them suit me. Before I was using "10000+" which was perfect for me until the application crash and doesn't restart despite the re-installation of the application. Now I am looking for an application that would do the same: - Create my activities with a goal (Example : learn English in 10 000 hours) - Add the amount of time I spent on that activity (most of application record the time like a timer but I don't want that) - Track my progress of an activity (With beautiful charts) - Possibility to back up / restore (If possible without using google drive or drop box) Actually I'm doing everything on excel but it's not so handy. Do you know some (free) android applications doing this ? Thank you and sorry if I don't use Reddit correctly. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 May 2018 10:38 AM PDT In android O the notification shade changes color depending on your home screen background. I want a dark/black notification shade, but some backgrounds give me a different one.I remember hearing about an app that would let yo fake this a while back. Not sure what it was though. [REQUEST] Offline/free casino games? Posted: 03 May 2018 10:09 AM PDT Every "casino" app I get in searches is some slot machine with time-gated currency. I don't even like slots! I just want a game that lets me play blackjack and craps, maybe baccarat or some poker variants. No need for online or social features, I just want to be able to play a few hands on the bus. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 09:47 AM PDT After the newest update, is it still safe to use? https://i.imgur.com/XIlrEXl.jpg Recent google play reviews say I shouldn't use it but I am unsure. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 May 2018 06:49 PM PDT Hey guys, I have the worst time getting motivated to do stuff so I'm looking for an app that'll basically act as an alarm/reminder type thing (sorry, my English is failing me right now). I'd very much like something cute. "Kawaii" type. I don't know why but Japanese apps literally give me life. Thanks for any help you can offer. [link] [comments] |
Video app that allows screen lock while recording Posted: 03 May 2018 08:22 AM PDT I'd like to film something underwater using my phone. Unfortunately when I submerge my phone the water activates the touch screen and sometimes stops the recording. Can somebody recommend an app that either records for a set duration or one that allows screen locking? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Quick recommendation for manual video camera app? Posted: 03 May 2018 08:16 AM PDT Hey everyone! Got a Samsung S5 that I'm using for some overhead music gear video. It's...okay. The resolution is good (3840) but the focus doesn't quite stop where I want it to when I lock. Looking for an app that will shoot in UHD, with an easy to use manual focus as well as exposure and ISO settings. I've got Cinema FV-5 which is pretty decent, but I still don't feel like I've got enough control over focus. And files don't appear on the SD card quick enough (or sometimes at all). So it's a bit sketchy. I need to be able to record directly to SD and then slurp it up over USB into my video editing software as I go. Any suggestions? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Email app that can replace Email by Edison? Posted: 03 May 2018 11:30 AM PDT I've been using Email by Edison and I like it but unfortunately there are a few glaring problems which are becoming increasingly more frustrating to deal with. Email notifications aren't grouped together, so if I get many emails then my notification panel quickly becomes very cluttered. My inbox isn't refreshed automatically. Instead, I have to manually refresh it everytime I open the app or tap on a notification. Sometimes, when I open the app by tapping a notification, it won't refresh no matter how long it stays doing that, so I have to close the app and open it again the normal way. So I'm looking for a replacement that fixes all of these issues. [link] [comments] |

Is there a way to emulate an Android 4 or 5 app on 7? Posted: 03 May 2018 02:57 AM PDT All I want to do is play an old game I love that has not been updated for a few years and requires Android 4 or 5 to play, however my Samsung is running 7. I'm not looking to downgrade obviosly, but is there any way to emulate version 4 or 5 to run this old game? If I try it with version 7 it just crashes while opening. Or is there any way to somehow get into the app and edit something so it will run on my version 7? [link] [comments] |
[Request] App to stream music from Nexcloud (Ampache, or WebDAV)? Posted: 02 May 2018 08:47 PM PDT I'm looking for an app to stream my personal music collection located on my Nextcloud server. Nextcloud is capable of serving up the music through WebDAV or Ampache. I'm currently using Power Ampache from F-Droid and it's abysmal to say the least, yet somehow better than a lot of other apps that I've tried this week... I'm hoping someone else out there has found a better solution. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 May 2018 04:24 AM PDT Does anyone know of an app that can remove items from the status bar? With the amount of widgets available to this device, I don't really need the time, battery percentage, etc. Would rather lose the real estate to make the screen look better. Thanks! Posted: 03 May 2018 07:29 AM PDT Will the update, that is released recently, be available on play store through poweramp app? Its been a few days since its release and i havent got it? [link] [comments] |

Help finding the perfect chat app Posted: 02 May 2018 04:25 PM PDT Hey guys, I've been hunting around for the perfect solution to a chat problem I'm having. The thing I'm trying to accomplish (nerd alert) is playing little text adventures with my friends. The problem is that I don't want it just clogging up my normal text message feed. Here are the requirements for what I'm looking for.
Fulfilling all of those requirements has proven to be challenging. Solutions that have not worked are:
Any thoughts? EDIT: Thanks /u/Udab! Riot is the perfect solution for me! [link] [comments] |
