How come we still can't interact with notifications directly from lockscreen?!?! Posted: 15 Apr 2018 03:31 AM PDT It's such a basic feature thats been in stock android for ages now. By interact i mean expend, dismiss, reply, etc.. without needing to pull down the notification shade in lockscreen. [link] [comments]
How to not sleep after inactivity? Posted: 15 Apr 2018 07:04 PM PDT I'm talking about the setting under Settings > Display > Sleep. I just updated to MIUI 9.5 for my Mi Max 2. I want to change it to "Never" but for some reason it won't register and keeps getting stuck at "15 seconds". I've tried rebooting but it's still the same. Any idea how to solve this? The new notification system is amazing! Posted: 15 Apr 2018 02:33 AM PDT Just got 9.5.4.0 on my Mi Max 2, the one thing that always bothered me when switching from my S4 active to the Max 2 was the horrendous notification system, now its pretty much perfect! [link] [comments]
Mi mix 2 or should I wait for mi 7? Posted: 15 Apr 2018 05:01 PM PDT Like in the topic. Im planning on changing my old smartphone. Mix 2s is out of my price range. Do you think that mi 7 will launch at similar price to mix 2? [link] [comments]
[HELP] Mi5 bricked with black screen Posted: 15 Apr 2018 01:00 PM PDT Hi. I was running xiaomi.eu ROM for some time, but my phone switched off and is now unresponsive, apart from warming up when charging. The LED is blank, but does go green on full charge. The only way I can get the phone to register when plugged into a computer is by disconnecting the phone battery and shorting the test point with tweezers, which allows the Qualcomm device to register. The bootloader is unlocked (confirmed with MiFlash Unlock tool), which allows me to successfully flash any Fastboot ROM. Sadly, no matter which ROM I flash, the problem remains. Using custom recovery such as TWRP is not possible, because the screen remains black after flashing and rebooting. I've tried every possible combo of holding power, volume up, down, and home. Even holding the combos for 5 minutes does not fix the problem, although it does make the phone get warmer, and sometimes register as a USB device. Fastboot ROMs I've tried flashing:
Some people solved this problem by ordering 'pmi8994 002 power ic' on Aliexpress, but replacement requires soldering. I'm in UK and unaware of any stores that would do this for me, so maybe I'll just have to learn how to solder. I'd appreciate any other ideas I've missed. [link] [comments]
Which Xiaomi phone as an upgrade from the Redmi 4X? Posted: 15 Apr 2018 02:48 PM PDT My buddy has a Redmi 4X (I have the Note 4X). My other pal wants to join the Xiaomi party, but isn't impressed with the camera quality (I agree with him - you get what you pay for). Is there a newer/better model of the 4X or something similar from Xiaomi? The Xiaomi naming convention confuses me - I'm pretty sure the Redmi 5 range (?) isn't actually much different in specs? I guess he wants something that is 4X size with a better camera at a minimum. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Apr 2018 08:49 AM PDT I'm wondering why the charge counter isn't the same as capacity. Is it supposed to be like that, or could Xiaomi be doing this to make it look like the phone is charging super fast. For example, ~10->100% in 2 hours or less. [link] [comments]

Mi Notebook Pro downgrade BIOS help please Posted: 15 Apr 2018 07:51 AM PDT So I got the laptop shipped with 502 bios installed. I really want to undervolt this machine and I need to downgrade to 401 bios. Did anyone achieve it? I found the dump files of the 401 bios but not like the 502 and 300 that are available on tech tablet's website. If anyone out there downgraded successfully please help me out in doing it. “After 40 hours of trying to unlock the phone” What does that mean? Posted: 15 Apr 2018 01:40 PM PDT I have a Redmi 3S (land) and I tried to unlock the phone about 2 days ago (Saturday 14th) but got the error that Mi Account isn't associated and just now found out that I've been using different Mi Account in both phone and on Mi Unlock software so this time I used the account which came with my phone and got the message "After 40 hours of trying to unlock the phone". What does that supposed to mean? Should I try after 40 hours? [link] [comments]
Possible solutions of the Mi A1's hissing sound. Posted: 15 Apr 2018 01:14 PM PDT I got this phone a week ago, and I'm already thinking how to fix this common issue when using headphones. I'm not an audiophile but I like to hear music in my phone with my headphones (Audio-Technica M50x or Sennheiser HD598), and I thought I could get rid of it by using a DAC or something similar. I'm searching for cheap DACs just to remove that annoying hissing sound, and I'm also wondering if a 3.5mm jack to usb type-c adapter would improve the sound. I don't know if a DAC would work either, so I would like to hear from you, and your thoughts of this. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Apr 2018 05:32 AM PDT Currently on xiaomi.eu weekly for R5P. Enabled camera2api for gcam, and on surprise stock camera works too. [link] [comments]
Should I use a screen protector on my Mi A1? Posted: 15 Apr 2018 09:44 AM PDT I hardly drop anything anyways, use a clear case, not fold, and the screen protectors I've tried hardly fit properly so I just took them off and gave up. [link] [comments]
I think Dr fone recover program ruined my camera quality Posted: 15 Apr 2018 05:45 AM PDT So i'm using stock rom stock camera and i wanted to recover some lost pictures. I thought of using dr fone as it said something about it roots the phone temporarily and unroots it back. The program didnt do its job, it didnt work and showed none of my deleted stuff. Anyway i noticed something today, the camera quality dropped a lot both in selfie and the back cam. I have a feeling it cause of the rooting shit the program was supposed to do or w.e but i checked my phone and it says its not rooted. What can i do to fix the problem? Should i restart my phone firmware to what it was when i bought it? Mi Max 2 btw [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Apr 2018 08:27 AM PDT Hi guys, My Mi Max 2 is on the latest Global Development ROM (version 8.4.12) and I seem to be having weird issues with Bluetooth. It seems like my Bluetooth is going all kinds of wonky with major crackling as if I was suffering some major lag, performance issues where the connection seems to be dropped entirely. This has been happening while using name brand Bluetooth headphones and the official unmodified Spotify app. One thing I will note that I recently had my Mi Max's screen replaced by a local shop (not an official Xiaomi repair shop) and today was the first time I used Bluetooth with my Mi Max 2 and my pair of Bluetooth headphones. Could the repair shop have damaged the Bluetooth sensor or whatever it's called while replacing the screen or is it just some issue with the latest Dev ROM update? Thanks for reading!
