Just had a very embarrassing Samsung pay experience

    Posted: 20 Apr 2018 11:27 PM PDT

Apparently Samsung pay is supposed to work pretty much everywhere. I've used it at places with tap readers, without tap readers (I really confused the cashier at Walmart) but I finally found a place where Samsung pay doesn't work and it was very embarrassing. Just for reference I using note8 in Oreo in Canada.

There's a Korean restaurant in my neighbourhood that sells student specials at lunchtime. Luckily it's a pay before you eat type of place because of the high volume of students coming and leaving. I ordered my food and tried to pay with Samsung pay. I noticed their tap machine said tap not accepted and the waitress said sorry tap isn't accepted. I replied that Samsung pay works without tap but she repeated that we don't accept tap here, I replied, trust me it'll work. She sighed and inputted the payment into the machine. I tried scanning my phone over the machine but the machine just flashed at me and said tap not accepted. The screen on my phone showed that the transaction was approved. I tried again, and the exact same thing happened. At this point the waitress was really annoyed since I was holding up the line, I pulled out my normal card and it worked when I inserted it. I was pretty embarrassed at this point and the lineup had gotten pretty long.

TLDR Samsung pay doesn't work 100% of the time and it can lead you into embarrassing situations if it doesn't work.

    s9 plus magnetic back

    Posted: 21 Apr 2018 07:51 AM PDT

So hopefully this should be a quick question and easy answer.

I have an S9 plus and my step mum left in her old car a magnetic phone holder but my last phone wouldn't work as needed the magnetic on the phone but my s9 plus will connect to it.

Will it damage my phone at all or should I get the actual magnet that goes on the case?

    It's this pretty much : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Magnetic-Mpow-Rotatable-Dashboard-Cellphones/dp/B019DCFE6K#

My S7 is having volume control issues

    Posted: 21 Apr 2018 05:23 AM PDT

    It's not the S7 Edge.

When I try to raise/lower my volume, the first thing that pops up is "In-call volume" and I'm not even in the middle of a call. I've restarted the phone twice, I've shut it down, THEN restarted it. I've checked volume control settings, and nothing. I think it stopped showing "In-call volume" for a whole 20 minutes, then started up again.

    Any suggestions?

    Gear s3 Data plan?

    Posted: 21 Apr 2018 04:36 AM PDT

My Gear and Phone are always together with Bluetooth, and I never use the watch for calls or anything, so do I need to spend the extra money every month for a data plan? And if I get rid of the plan do I lose any features?

    [Note 8 / Android 9.0] Notifications don't collapse/condense after update?

    Posted: 20 Apr 2018 12:14 PM PDT

I updated my phone recently and afterwards my notifications no longer collapse for each app. This is getting annoying for things like groupme and twitter blowing out my lock screen badges and notification bar icon. I tried google and couldn't come across anything and toying in the notification settings isn't helping.

Where is the best place to get OEM samsung batteries for the Note 4?

    Posted: 20 Apr 2018 04:35 PM PDT

I see several places online, but they all have mixed reviews. I'm scared of getting a used battery or a cheap chinese knock off.

Benefits of buying a Samsung TV if you own an S8?

    Posted: 20 Apr 2018 01:39 PM PDT

I'm currently in the market (UK) for a new bedroom TV, and came across a good deal for a 40" 4k UHD Samsung. I can buy a 43" JVC with the same features (4k UHD, Smart TV, etc) but since I own a Galaxy S8, will this add any benefit or functionality to a Samsung TV?

Basically, is there any extra benefit in pairing a Samsung TV and Samsung phone?

Samsung Note 8 photos aren't being read

    Posted: 20 Apr 2018 12:50 PM PDT

Hello, I have been saving my photos to my internal storage on my Note 8 from sprint and as of last month, most of my photos seem to be unable to be shared. I can still see them when I go to gallery but when I want to share them on snapchat or through texts it doesn't read them. The size is 0 if that helps.

Apps downloaded from Play Store don't load to home screen or another screens. Note 8

    Posted: 20 Apr 2018 07:17 PM PDT

Anyone else have this issue? When I download apps from the play store I have to go to the app drawer and manually put them on my home screen or the other screens. They used to show up by default.

    [USA] S9 for $569.99????

    Posted: 20 Apr 2018 08:21 AM PDT

On Shop Samsung they're selling the AT&T S9 for $569.99. As far as I'm concerned once you pay off your phone in the USA no carrier can continue to lock your phone to that specific carrier.

Meaning: can I buy this, in full, from Samsung and expect to legally have it unlocked since it's 100% mine?

FYI to all TabPro S owners. Your keyboard cover keys cannot be replaced.

    Posted: 20 Apr 2018 09:53 AM PDT

As all of you know this tablet's keyboard is prone to damage (try popping one off, you can see how small keys are); if your keyboard/tablet is out of warranty samsung will NOT sell replacement keys/repair (duh) your keyboard.

That means you'll have to ditch the keyboard and use a wireless keyboard (bluetooth keyboards cause 2.4ghz wifi interference), or find a third party that sells separate keys.

I wasnt able to find a website that sells U key, (out of stock), so good luck if your keyboard gets damaged. Best case senario you send the cover in for long relair or you don't get to fix it at all by samsung.

[Help] Samsung 4K TV Sometimes Powers On With Too Much Contrast (pics included)

    Posted: 20 Apr 2018 03:49 PM PDT

Hey guys maybe someone here can help me, its been driving me nuts. I have a Samsung 4K TV with HDR (Model:UN65JU670DF) that i use to play xbox one x, ps4 and watch tv. Sometimes when I start the tv the picture has way too much contrast.

    Picture : https://imgur.com/a/l9kB4zc

The only way to fix it is unplug the tv and plug it back in. Then the contrast looks normal again.

    Picture: https://imgur.com/a/mE1hpOq

Another way to fix this is to start any game on the xbox one x. When the game starts the tv goes black for a second then the game shows with normal contrast. These methods are kind of annoying, i was wondering why does this happen and is there a way to permenantly fix this issue. Thank you

TLDR: Picture looks over contrasted when turning on the tv. Only way to get it back to normal is to either unplug tv or start a game on xbox one x.

    No UHD in Amazon Video?

    Posted: 20 Apr 2018 11:58 AM PDT

I have a Samsung q7f TV and for some reason the prime app doesn't show UHD content.

Has anyone come across this before?

    Thanks
