At the same time, I always hope that Oneplus would correct this issue. But now I have lost hope, patience and respect for them. With this post, I will explain you all events concerning the dots pattern to show you why Oneplus is simply ignoring it, and more importantly, IGNORING ONE OF THE BIGGEST REQUEST OF THE COMMUNITY ! June 20, 2017 : Oneplus 5 release. Since day one Oneplus 5 has the dots pattern issue. August 19, 2017 : One of the first mention of the issue in the official Oneplus Bug Report forum.. September 26, 2017 : Answer of michikoao, one of the member of Oneplus Bug Hunter team to the Bug Report thread above. He clearly mention that the issue is a bad implementation of Camera2 API DNG who doesn't get a proper image. With some ability to phrasing, he tells to use official Oneplus Camera to get a proprer DNG image because Camera2 API is faulty but not because of Oneplus. November 21, 2017 : Oneplus 5T release. The 5T has the same primary sensor than the 5, so the dots pattern issue too. November 28, 2017 : DvLAx3l reports that he talked with a employee from Oneplus to show them the dots pattern issue. He claimed that this employee have wrote a memo to speak about it with the devs December 9, 2017 : I decided to do all I can to report this issue to Oneplus. So I decided to report it on :
At the same time, because this issue is also present in Adobe Lightroom, I submitted them a bug report too and their answer was :
December 24, 2017 : Release of Android 8.0 (Oreo) for Oneplus 5. There is no dots pattern but pictures are now greenish ! The beginning of the end ? January 30, 2018 : NO ! No, because Oneplus reverts back to the previous Camera2 API implementation to get dotted DNG pictures in the Open Beta 3. Februrary 7, 2018 : I decided to reverse-engineer the Camera implementation to see what can be causing this dots pattern issue. I explained here what I found out and why I can't do it without the original source code. What you have to know is that it's Oneplus fault because they have badly implemented the Camera2 API. If it's working in Official Oneplus Camera app (which use Camera1 API), there is no reason they can't implement the same for Camera2 API. I even submitted a solution to correct this in their Github ! I have sent all of this in Oneplus private request tickets, here in Reddit, to get the most attention from Oneplus, hoping for a fix from them. March 3, 2018 : Oneplus Open Ear in Hamburg concerning camera quality in Oneplus smartphone. 3rd party camera issue was mentionned and Oneplus promised to "Fix compatibility issues with 3rd party camera apps" Today : Since the Open Ear, 3 Open Beta have been released and still no sign of dots pattern fix. I always raise my request in their official Oneplus request tickets but they always tell me that they are "waiting for updates from their ROM Team". Every week since long time there is a thread about it. I have even sent them a possible solution, which I'm 99% sure that should work because it's the only difference between Camera1 and Camera2 to get a DNG picture. Even in the Open Ear they have heard about this issue. Since the release of Oneplus 5, so since 10 MONTHS AGO this issue is here. There ad was focused on speed..I guess they realized they can't build a good camera so they just decided to focus on the speed aspect of the phone which is already more than fast enough. It also said Amazon exclusive which isn't a surprise since even the 5t was Amazon exclusive I'm thinking the OnePlus 6 could launch really soon here in India [link] [comments]  |

My question is: what is the cost in time/money for making a device waterproof? does it need just good engineering with rubber/isolation on all the openings, or does they need to manually to process each device with special chemicals ( like Liquipel )? | Solved microphone issue with OnePlus3 Posted: 15 Apr 2018 04:31 AM PDT So I've had the oneplus 3 from the beginning and i never updated to oreo i was on 7.1.1. but in the past few months the mic went from sometimes working to not working at all. I have tried every fix and solution i could find. NOTHING WORKED but...i rolled back further to 6.0.1 . To this to be more exact https://downloads.oneplus.com/oneplus-3/oneplus_3_oxygenos_3.2.1/ my microphone works like a charm. I've been using my phone for the past 3 days and i've had no glitches. I just wanted to share this to other people that have similar issues. Maybe someone with more knowledge can figure out why this is happening. I tried to update via OTA to 7.1.1. and i had no sound coming from my mic...and the oreo update still no mic. It works only on 6.0.1 for me. Hope this helps someone. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 15 Apr 2018 03:30 PM PDT Hello good people of Reddit, I recently noticed, that my OP5 phone won't fast charge anymore, moreover it mostly charges about 5% per hour or something stupid like that. I noticed that on lockscreen, while charging, it mostly says "Slow charging", if I move the cable around a little (or push it in quite hardly) it says "Charging", but usually goes back to slow after a light push or movement of the cable, so now I have to charge my phone really carefully not to 'disrupt' the normal charging. Is there a DIY solution to this? It is the port's issue, not the cable, since I tried a few others. Half the screen went blue /black patches and now it covers the whole screen. Impossible to maneuver in the phone. Is there any way to simply extract all the data from there to my desktop while I'm waiting on a new phone? Is there any software anyone can recommend me? Appreciate anyone's help, thank you. It does not work either normally or in safe mode, and I have cleared both the phone cache and bluetooth cache. About 5min in and it goes back to home screen and Google maps minimizes to the widget "Display over other apps" mode. Keeps happening every 5 minutes or so. Anyone else experience this or have a fix? | Microphone issue using rear camera on OnePlus 5T Posted: 15 Apr 2018 11:14 AM PDT I'm using FreedomOS on my OnePlus 5T and over the past 2 weeks I've been noticing the audio when using the rear camera is extremely low and muffled whereas the audio is perfect when using the front camera. I've tested the mic on multiple apps including the stock camera, Instagram and Snapchat and it's the same across all apps and I'm not sure what the issue could be. [link] [comments]  |

| Advice on Omnirom and camera mods Posted: 15 Apr 2018 05:10 AM PDT ok so I have a 5t and it's got to the stage where I want to flash a custom ROM because of the lack of updates from oneplus . I knew I would flash a ROM at some stage when I bought the phone mainly for the hardware. I did flash Lineage OS on a galaxy s7 but I've become a bit annoyed with lineage after the April fools prank and when I ask for any advice on the forum my posts get deleted because its supposedly posted elsewhere but when I look I can't find it . Anyway I've read that Omnirom is pretty good on Oneplus phones. Stable , well know developer ,opensource and up to date. My questions are :
3.I know the camera on custom ROMs aren't amazing but to be fair the camera isn't amazing on Oneplus I knew this when I bought the phone . Which camera mod is recommended I've seen people mention the oneplus M mod and the Google camera mod . Is there several gcam mods? I've seen posts mention different ones or are they all the same one being called something different .
