Dagger2 Vs Koin for dependency injection ? Android Dev

Dagger2 Vs Koin for dependency injection ?

    Posted: 15 Apr 2018 11:31 AM PDT

I have used Dagger2 in many of my projects. But each time setting up a new project with Dagger2 requires a lot of boilerplate code and as new features are added to the app comes a lot subcomponents and modules as as well. So I was thinking of trying Koin for DI. Just wanted to know how many of you have tried it and how easy it is to get started ?

Having the same smooth scrollbar as ListView in a Recyclerview

    Posted: 15 Apr 2018 01:59 PM PDT

If you want to have a smooth scrollbar for your RecyclerView (a scrollbar that doesn't change its size brutally) i writed some code that can help you, you can find details here.

I don't know if there is a simpler way, i searched a lot but didn't find anything (probably because i don't use the right keywords), if you have any tips feel free to share them.

    in-app-billing: Where are the receipts?

    Posted: 15 Apr 2018 07:37 AM PDT

When I as an app developer sell an app or subscription to a customer in Google Play via in-app-billing, where do I actually see my receipts which are needed for my company and therefore for the financial authority? I doubt that Google has any concept for this. In AdMob for example, they give a shit about legal receipts. When you get a payment in AdMob, you can download the "payment information", but that's it. This is not a legal bill. (An attorney told me that I should create legal bill for myself and tack it with this "payment information" together). But now I'm talking about payments I get from in-app-billing. At the moment I have only test purchases. What I see is the "Order Management" option in Google Play. I see there a list of (test) payments, but I cannot even export it, so this is probably not what I'm searching for. There is also the "Financial Reports" option in Google Play, but the content there is empty (because of test payments?). Do I maybe get the legal bills from there? Or do I have to create my own bills by using the in-app-billing data I can fetch via Google Play Developer API?

    Noke Bluetooth lock API

    Posted: 15 Apr 2018 02:54 PM PDT

I'm looking into integrating a Bluetooth lock into my app and I've come across a bluetooth padlock that has an API for iOS and android users but the reviews are less than positive for bluetooth padlocks. The api can be found on git hub here https://github.com/noke-inc. I'm kind of new at app develpment but I was just curious if anyones worked with Noke API and how hard it was to get a it integrated and working with their app.

What's the state for Material Design

    Posted: 15 Apr 2018 09:21 AM PDT

    I've found recently this page:

    https://material.io/components/android/

Tried to use it, but seems like I'm just lost about it usage, like doing the examples I just see gray boxes when it works, or just missing schemas when it doesn't

I'm not a good developer on android at all, it's just that i'm lost about new widgets out of the box, if someone has a link about it workflow or something like that I would be really happy

    Also I've found this app

    https://codecanyon.net/item/materialx-android-material-design-ui-components-10/20482674

But I can't actually pay it yet, like I've already invested some money (And ran out of it) in other kinds of courses like web dev, back end, but I have to stop with it

    Programming Language

    Posted: 15 Apr 2018 06:16 AM PDT

What languages do you suggest me for developing Android applications? I know very little bit about C/C++. Is C/C++ going to be useful for me or I need to learn Java?

There was a post here on using a pattern to start an activity (Not the static starter pattern: SomeActivity.start(context)), but I can't seem to find it. Could someone please link me if they remember?

Is v15 of Play Services a late April Fools joke?

    Posted: 15 Apr 2018 11:06 AM PDT

Skips 3 major versions, adds no new features, not to mention v15 of Play Services isn't even available for anyone to download yet. You literally cannot use this version of the library on anything. Did Google release this a few months too early or something or am I missing something here?
