Are Mapped Network Drives going out of style?

I was in a meeting yesterday when oddly (to me), an IT professional from another organization claimed that Microsoft is trying to move away from Mapped Network Drives as a best practice. We use mapped network drives extensively in our managed environment and don't have any plans to stop, but I was wondering if this other person's claim is true.

We are also implementing Microsoft OneDrive, as that appears to be the direction for Office 2016 as a default save location, and my guess is that it will only be more tightly integrated wtih OneDrive and Teams in Office 2019. That said, we will always have the need for on-premises file storage and mapped network drives has always been our method for connecting our users to the SMB shares. I'm all ears if there's a better direction that Microsoft is planning on supporting more fully going forward, though.

No Display after doing REISUB in Ubuntu

    Posted: 28 Aug 2018 10:08 AM PDT

I have a dual boot system with Ubuntu 18.04 and windows 10. Everything was working fine until my system froze while running a neural net model (I wasn't running on GPU). I waited for 10 minutes and hit alt + prt sc + REISUB. Nothing came on the screen and it went black. I waited for 10 minutes and then pressed the power button for force shutdown. And now there's no display - I can't access Grub, boot menu, commanda terminal or anything. Need urgent help.
