[OP5] The new quick menu has too much wasted space

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 08:17 AM PDT

When you swipe down from the top of the screen, there's so much wasted space. Either give us another row of shortcuts or remove the wasted space. There's no reason for that to take up a third of the screen.

New OPses system app in OOS 5.1 [8.1]

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 06:14 PM PDT

There is a new system app called OPSes.

Does this have anything to do with the new "system stability improvement program" or the PSA - OxygenOS 8.1 builds have enabled promotional notifications or emails under settings. that we needed to opt out from in advanced settings?

Also there are some other new apps called Dark and Home screen tips; any ideas what these do?

[5T] Battery problems. My experience with OnePlus support

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 04:59 PM PDT

Mid February I started having issues with my 5T that was purchased in December. From around 8 hours of SOT, I was barely getting 4 hours with low to moderate use. I tried everything that I could think of. I went back to an older version of OOS, I formated the phone, I did a full wipe of data/dalvik cache, I installed a custom Rom, I changed the kernel. Absolutely nothing worked. I didn't want to send the phone in for repairs for 2 reasons: first of all, the phone was almost new, and second, I saw some horror stories around here regarding OnePlus' support.

I eventually caved in, because the long battery life was the main reason for buying this phone. First, I contacted them through their chat, which was blazing fast. One of their representatives gave me a couple of solutions, but I already tried them all, so I was advised to send the phone in for RMA.

The whole thing took 5 days, from the moment I sent the phone out, to when I got it back. I didn't have to pay anything extra since the phone was still in waranty, and since I sent the phone out, I asked for the Widevine update too, because why not.

My phone is working again as it should've in the first place. Yesterday I got around 8 hours of SoT with heavy use, and I can't be happier about it. And also, HD Netflix. Yey. The whole experience was fast and smooth.

I saw a couple people here having the same issue that I did, so my advice to you would be to send the phone in for repairs, after you're sure that the battery is at fault, and not the software. Maybe some batteries were affected. Hopefully the issue won't come back to bite me in the ass again.

Mad Props to OnePlus! Gesture navigation works very well.

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 12:06 PM PDT

Just updated my phone to 5.1. Unfortunately had laggy issue that other people are mentioning, so had to do a factory reset. After that the phone works just fine. Love how the navigation bar is gone ( finally a solution to the white bar in the dark mode issue). It's nice that going back could be done by either swiping up from the right or the left side. It's the little things that count. Great job OnePlus! Edit: I think I found the glitchiness culprit. If you use solid black color for you wallpaper it will glitch you app drawer

    Pokemon Go now not working?

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 03:55 PM PDT

Hey. Posting mainly for my otherhalf.

She is massive on Pokemon Go and got her 5T 3 days ago. unfortunately from about 5 hours ago she is unable to play Pokemon Go due to her handset now not being supported.

I have the same issue on the 3T as i tested it in the small hope it would work with mine and i could get a cheeky swaparoo with the handsets.

Anyone know whats up, currently cant see anything on the OnePlus forums and also cant post on them for some reason due to permissions.

    Kind regards

    Severe battery drainage?

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 01:11 PM PDT

When I bought the phone in March I could use it all day with no issues and the dash charge worked flawlessly. The past few days (maybe since the last update?) it's been draining like crazy. I've charged it multiple times today yet here I am again at 20% having to plug it in. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know any possible solutions?

Accidentally deleted all System Data, can I somehow recover? OnePlus 3T

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 01:07 PM PDT

My phone accidentally went into recovery mode and in Chinese. I clicked something hoping it would exit but I ended up deleting System Data.

All my images and videos are saved so that's great, but I would really rather simply recover than try to remember all my apps and login.

There are 2 things that give me hope:

    1) In Settings > Storage it says there is 20GB of apps on my phone, but the list of apps that I can view right now doesn't sum to even 5GB.

    2) When I was in Chinese I was clicking things and saw two long strings of English letters and numbers. I clicked one of them but now I can't find this option. I think this might be saves on my phone or something.

Does anyone know to find what I was talking about in #2 or how I can possibly recover my apps?

Show me your SOT and battery graph!

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 09:20 AM PDT

The 8.1 update for me has given the best battery boost out of all updates I've gotten since October, when I bought OP5. Only thing I do is use the black theme. What I have noticed is that in the battery menu, "Phone Idle" shows up and trust me it wasn't that Idle. In 20 hours since last change, 8h and a bit of those were spent with the screen on. Haven't changed my phone usage habits prior to the 8.1 update, but I had less SOT in any update before this.

Battery health - 94% since October.

Active daily use, maps, music, WhatsApp, YouTube and sorts.

Could easily stretch it to 9 hours. VERY satisfied.

Suggestion for a recent apps gesture

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 04:16 AM PDT

I've been using the new gestures for a day now and I absolutely LOVE them. And I came to realize that it would be WAY faster if the gesture for opening the recent apps section was, after swiping up from the bottom, a swipe down. The app "boxes" come from above and it would just make sense to pull them down with such a gesture, instead of holding the up-swipe for half a second. I don't know if this is the right place to suggest something like this but let me know what you guys think about this, and if there's a way we could suggest this to the devs.

Make the new gesture navigation feel smoother by turning all animations to 0.5 in developer options.

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 09:25 AM PDT

The quicker animation really makes the home swipe feel natural for me! Anyone else done this?

Midly infuriating bugs with 5.1.0 update

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 10:42 AM PDT

Has anyone noticed that now the drawer in the stock OnePlus launcher changes its spacing from time to time?

Moreover my notification led doesn't work with WhatsApp notifications, the face unlock animation has stopped working after two or three times, there is a weird white line at the bottom of the notification panel and so on...

I have a OnePlus 5t and this is my first OnePlus phone, how much time are you used to wait for a bugfix?

Oneplus 2 bent, danger battery can explode?

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 07:23 AM PDT

So as the genius that I am I sat on my phone while it was in my backpocket. I immediatly felt it but the phone is still bent.

There is a gentle bend mostly in the middle of the phone, outward.

Now the phones still works perfectly as far as I can tell. There is a small blue glowing spot on the screen somewhere in the upper middle, but apart from that the touchscreen still fully works and displays everything. I haven't tried charging it or restarting the phone or anything though.

Now my question is, what is the danger of the battery exploding? I've heard those stories before and seeing as the bend is smack in the middle of the phone I'm assuming the battery is bent too?

What is the danger while charging my phone? Should I try to bend it back?

I've had this phone for a couple of years already (right around release) but I'd have liked to use it for a couple more and since it still seems to be fully functional I'm hoping I can.

    Accent Colors

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 02:07 PM PDT

Please add unlimited accent colors to our settings. I know you can do this with root, but Android is all about accessibility and having limited accents is a step back (like the OP6 notch 😂). Please add this in the next update. From 5T User

Notification are no longer showing when screen is off

    Posted: 18 Apr 2018 08:37 AM PDT

Anyone else notice the floating notifications (WhatsApp, messenger, emails etc) are not showing since the newest update? I'm on OP5T completely factory.

I've tried it on slient, ring, and DND. Nothing shows.

The light will pulse but nothing on the screen.

    Any ideas?
