Replacement for 4x1 HTC calendar widget Posted: 25 Apr 2018 04:05 AM PDT Is there a good replacement for the 4x1 HTC calendar widget, as it existed on the M9 and below? Screenshot: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qFLHwwvq0lavzdsvlXRgmy9h1YbPCC42/view?usp=sharing The closest I've found is Event Flow Widget, but the design is inferior - it doesn't make good use of the space as it isn't specifically designed as a 4x1 widget. Posted: 25 Apr 2018 12:51 AM PDT Hello, I used to be the owner of a HTC One M8, however I accidentally dropped it in the drink and so now I have it drying out in rice. That is bad news for me because so far it has been the best android phone I've used, but the good news is I think I backed it up correctly. My question however is about one of the apps. I had been using scribble app, to record voice memos and to get organized and such. However, I am not sure where to find the memo either on the backed up files on my laptop, or if luck may have it, if my phone works, where I can locate my saved voice files. I am in need of going over some of my notes. My ipod saves them as .m4a files, but not sure about the htc one? Please help and let me know where I can look to find the audio files! Thank you! Posted: 24 Apr 2018 07:39 PM PDT So I was using the Steam app and I opened and closed it a few times, just via regular usage. Suddenly it would only partially load to a blank screen and then crash with an error. Opening it again would prompt the message "Steam keeps closing". I tried a few more times, same thing. I rebooted the phone. Same thing. Cleared the cache, data etc. same thing. Uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted same thing. So I gave up on on the Steam app. However now I'm starting to realise it happens to almost all of my apps. What the heck? My mail app, same "Mail keeps closing" error. This is happening now with over 30 apps on my phone. I've tried rebooting, I've tried shutting my phone off for an hour. Almost none of my apps open any more. Backed up my pictures etc. but it seems a lot of my app data is totally gone. I can't seem to get any of these apps to open any more. What could have caused this? I haven't installed any new apps, deleted any folders or other data or even updated any apps in a few days. This just randomly happened now. I don't know if this is a localised issue just affecting me, or if this will happen to others so be careful. If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears. I really don't want to have to factory reset. EDIT: This seems to be a degenerating issue. Now over 45 of my apps crash. Some open partially but then crash when I tap anywhere. Holy s*** this is bizarre. EDIT 2: It seems to happen mostly when I tap anywhere. If I tap and hold and drag to scroll it doesn't happen. EDIT 3: Woah, it seems there's an update for "Android Web View" which was just released that fixed the problem. Other users in the comments posted similar issues with apps crashing and this seems to have fixed the issue for me. All of my apps are working again now. Thank god. Really glad I didn't jump to a factory reset or start uninstalling everything. [link] [comments] |
Htc One and Windows 10 problem Posted: 24 Apr 2018 12:01 PM PDT Until a couple of week ago I could send files to my phone by connecting it to my pc through an usb cable. Now it doesn't work anymore. I didn't format my pc, I didn't remove any driver and the usb port works fine, but every time I get a "USB device not recognized" message. Why? Can I use any alternative way? [link] [comments] |
Bought 10 on eBay - need to unroot? Posted: 24 Apr 2018 05:20 AM PDT On receiving the phone, I started installing system updates. When the phone restarted, it booted into the following screen: https://photos.app.goo.gl/20pl62mFKzlMvUcQ2 I eventually found the option in TWRP to reboot – it booted back into Android, but when I went to check for system updates, I got the message "The downloaded system software update is corrupted. Do you want to download it again?" There was nothing on the auction to indicate that the phone is rooted. I have very little familiarity with rooting, TWRP etc. I don't care whether or not the phone is rooted as long as rooting doesn't introduce any security risks, and I still receive system updates (assuming HTC still does them for this phone). As far as I'm aware, rooting doesn't reduce risks and may cause issues with updates – so what would be the best way of [link] [comments] |
