To make things fishier, I opened Amazon in incognito on Chrome and the "Deliver to" div showed the same area that my AppleID identified the fishy login. I've changed my passwords to both since. Any thoughts as to what's going on? When I look up where my IP address located me, it is not that location across the country. EDIT: I haven't used a VPN in several months. The AppleID was an operating system popup from when I was looking for OS updates. I looked up the location of my ISP, and it seems to be in the same city AppleID identified, so maybe that's what's going on? [link] [comments]  |

My motherboard supports ddr3 memory but on most of the better gpus like the Gtx 750 has Gddr5 memory. | Seem to have many symptoms of RAM issues, but memtest says it's fine Posted: 13 Apr 2018 06:02 PM PDT Custom Built Windows 10 professional 64bit 8gb ram 4 sticks AMD 8core FX 8350 4ghz AMD Radeon video card msi 970a-g43 motherboard Title, I get random crashes, random problems, random restarts, and randomly unable to start comp but then it will just be fine after a day(sometimes over night or 2 days) of being off. All signs point to RAM failure but whenever I do a memory test it comes back with no errors. I've done hard drive check, no issues. I've done just about every test I can think of and all come up clean. I've done virus and malware scans, registry cleaning. I just can't seem to pin down this issue. I have the money to buy a replacement part or two but I don't have the money or time to keep rotating out good parts till I find the issue, and certainly not to buy a new part and find the issue still happening. Windows reinstall is not an option (or absolute nuclear option as it would take entire days off to ensure my backup work) but any other insight or help is appreciated. | Open - Windows - Installed a ssd in my laptop, now I cant find my soundcard. Posted: 14 Apr 2018 01:13 AM PDT Hey there guys. A couple of days ago I bought me a ssd to do a little upgrade to my laptop since it needed some more power, It's a HP Pavilion dv6 that I bought in 2012. I used Acronis True Image to do a disk clone and it seems that everything has been copied over perfectly, except for one small but very annoying issue. There is no sound at all. When I click on the speaker down in the corner to show playback devices there is nothing there. Not even after right clicking to check the box for inactive devices. After googling around for a bit I tried to download the IDT High definition audio drivers but some how that didn't want to work even thou I got the right one for my laptop. So I unscrewed the laptop plugged the hdd back in, installed a program called Driver back up. Did a full backup of all the drivers, everything got copied fine. opened the computer up again and put the ssd in again, installed driver backup and tried to back up all of my old drivers. It said everyhting got installed but still nothing. Please help me guys, I know that I'm not computer illitterate and I should be able to fix this but lately this has been bugging the hell out of me. I'm trying to open these audio files so I can listen to certain voice clips for a machinima I'm trying to make(its basically an internet movie made on/about a videogame). I have a link to a few different downloads where I got it on the internet but have no Idea how to send it to anyone outside of email. I have only tried opening it on Windows media player and audacity, both were a no-go. I want to destroy the old one as I have no need for it anymore and want to ensure no sensitive/personal information can be recovered from it. I know you can use CCleaner or other programs like that to overwrite free space on it, but I think it'd be better to just play it safe and render it useless. In researching this online, destroying the hard drive seems to be the best way to ensure your information is gone for good. My question is; I have some non-sensitive stuff I'd like to copy from the old hard drive to the new one first. Family photos, overseas photos, music ect. Is it safe to copy this stuff across to the new hard drive? None of the sensitive/personal information I want to get rid of would make it's way across to the new hard drive unless I purposefully copied that across too would it? Only what I copy, and no other data, would then be stored on the new hard drive correct? No trace of the stuff I left behind or deleted on the old one? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 14 Apr 2018 03:32 AM PDT So a few days ago, my PC randomly shut down while I was playing games. I tried to turn it back on and got no response (the power button flashed for a moment but then nothing) so I let my computer sit for a few minutes and then tried again. Luckily it restarted just fine so I chalked it up to over heating. The problem is that now my dedicated GPU is no longer being recognized. Monitor gives me no signal, BIOS is not picking it up and I can't install the drivers for it anymore. I tried moving it a different slot on the MOBO and I unplugged and re plugged in every cord. The fans will spin when I start it up but still I get nothing out of my GPU, does this mean the GPU it's self is fried or could it be another part? | Images change size when I download Posted: 14 Apr 2018 03:17 AM PDT Hi guys, I've tried googling the resolution for this but the only results that seem to show is "how to resize your image" When I want to do the opposite, leave the image the same size. I'm using images to create graphics and when I download the image it nearly halves in size and when using on my graphic I have to stretch it which causes it to blur E.g Download an image 1000x1000, it downloads at 600x600. Ive gone to google images to test if this happens with other image sources and sure enough, download 1300x1000, get 246x205. I'm hoping it might be something in my settings. | Posted: 13 Apr 2018 01:44 PM PDT I've been having this issue for a fairly long time and I've just been ignoring it since I can't seem to fix it. Randomly when browsing or opening new apps, my desktop will either fully or semi freeze. The semi freeze is more common and can be recovered from. I just hit CTRL+ALT+DELETE and wait a minute or two for the screen to pop up, which indicates that the freeze period is over. During this freeze, my mouse can still be moved and open programs can be navigated between with partial functionality. (Opening a new tab on chrome won't work, clicking a link will result in buffering until the freeze is over, switching channels on discord won't load any text or images) This freeze doesn't seem to affect games and applications with low requirements, but anything that would use a lot of my CPU and GPU will drop to 5-15 fps for about a minute every 5-10 minutes. The complete freeze is unrecoverable as I have to power off my computer and restart when it occurs. This rare occurrence is more like a true computer freeze where everything is completely frozen. While I can usually restart just fine after this happens, eventually this freeze will force me to reinstall windows as it can cause driver errors which won't allow me to boot anymore. OS: Win 10 Pro Motherboard: Asrock 970 extreme 3 GPU: MSI Nvidia GTX 970 CPU: AMD FX-8350 RAM: 16gb Drives: SSD 250gb separated into two partitions (One of which runs the OS), HDD 3TB separated into two partitions I've searched for fixes to these issues many times always come across different findings which sometimes help mitigate the problem, but never fully fix. I've recently upgraded my ram from 8gb to 16gb as it was the oldest component in my rig which reduced the frequency in the freezes. Any driver updates, windows updates, config tweaks, etc. that I've found don't seem to help. When monitoring the CPU and GPU while running a demanding game, there doesn't seem to be any overheating. During fps drops, my GPU and CPU will actually reduce from running at about 60-80% down to 20-30%. I'm thinking that my SSD or HDD drives may be the issue, but I could use a second opinion. I'd really like to avoid spending money on new hardware that may not fix my issue. [link] [comments]  |

Using the brush tool doesn't work, it moves the canvas instead of laying down a brush stroke with the Surface pen. I followed a tutorial on this website to edit the registry to fix the problem. | CPU usage and temperature seems to be very high Posted: 14 Apr 2018 02:21 AM PDT Recently, my computer shut down on its own for very high CPU temperatures. I was running Assassin's Creed: Origins at the time, so it was understandable. But then after I booted my PC up, MSI Afterburner reported 98-100 deg C (right from boot) on all 4 cores of the CPU. I downloaded HWMonitor and CoreTemp to confirm, which they did. What's more, Afterburner and HWMonitor both seem to be reporting CPU usages higher (sometimes by a very high margin, sometimes not so much) than the Task Manager on Windows. I took my CPU cooler off, to find that the thermal paste had dried up. That would explain the 100degrees celsius, but:

But now I think about it, how will this work? For example, if I unplug my hdd and place my ssd there instead, will all files just work fine? And will windows just work fine? Problem is that I'm using AT&T as my cell provider and I think that I have two IP's. When I need to access to my job private server, the system won't allow me to enter unless the server has already my IP. So, I thought that visiting this regular websites "what's my IP" would say my IP, thing is that it's not "showing" my "real" IP address. When I talked to my boss, he always see another IP. For example. If I Google: What's my IP, it's show something like: 107.. But when I'm trying to access to my job server it's show always an IP starting with 166... Is there any way or any website that I could fin this "real IP? Cause it's killing me to always call my boss and ask him about what's the IP he's seeing trying to connect. Thanks! | Posted: 13 Apr 2018 10:23 PM PDT So, this has me stumped. My Folder of one season for example. I can rename the file to a mp4 but doing that I lose the original title. So I have no clue on some folders what is what since the pattern there seems off.. I'd love to prevent this in the future and have almost half a Tera to move this weekend. Seems on my sdcard I can see this files just fine as Teracopy had no problem and in my file explorer they were all playable. If all my shows are now out of order I think I'll pull my hair out. I looked under file description and it's not showing the original title and such...I'm going crazy!! Edit: under the description for the only mkv that didn't rename, says under toolname mkvmerge.
