Posted: 24 Feb 2018 04:12 AM PST So, earlier one redditor spotted tracking by MX player which is a great thing for this community to grow as it helps in reporting malicious apps. I wrote to the devs and I got this response in return. I hope it will clarify some of our doubts. [link] [comments] |
[Dev] Secure Photo Viewer is now Open Source Posted: 24 Feb 2018 09:17 AM PST Short intro: Secure Photo Viewer makes it possible to you to show pictures on your phone to your friends, but keeps everything else safe. It does this by showing just the pictures and videos you chose ontop of your lockscreen, so you can hand over your phone to anyone and they won't be able to mess with it. No access to other apps, no other media than you selected, everything is safe behind your usual lockscreen. As this app handles your photos, I felt like it would be a good idea to make it as transparent as possible, so you can use it without worrying. So I open sourced it. Here is the Github repository! Enjoy! [link] [comments] |
Looking for a music visualizer wallpaper that actually does work on modern Android systems Posted: 24 Feb 2018 04:12 AM PST Most I tried either lack the functions I want, such as bars, particle settings, music title floating atop the wallpaper, or are outdated and don't work on modern Android versions anymore. This had everything I wanted but doesn't work properly anymore and last update was in 2014... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.n7mobile.visualizer&hl=de I also don't exactly need a music player with that function since I only use PowerAmp. I don't mind if its not on the Google Play Store or costs money. I just wonder if there is one that actually fits my desires and works on Android 6.0.1 +. :/ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 04:01 AM PST Hey, everyone. What are your recommended root apps to improve performance? I'm currently using Greenify and L Speed. I was wondering if there are better apps out there I haven't heard of. Much obliged! [link] [comments] |
Want to switch from Apple to Android.... Posted: 24 Feb 2018 08:37 AM PST Hi people. I have an iPhone 6, have owned the 4 and the 3. The only reason I've had so many iPhones is because with the jailbreak, it's a pretty decent phone that does a lot of non-stock things. However, after having a Galaxy 7 from work, I'm ready to make the switch. I have one caveat though, and I'm hoping you guys can help me out. On my jailbroken iPhone, I can download YouTube videos, extract the audio as MP4, then import the song to my music library with cover art. Is there a way to do this on Android devices that isn't too painful? As it is, I have to use three different apps to do this. It doesn't bother me to do it like this, FYI. I just don't want to have to upload stuff to the cloud, or 2-step authenticate anything, etc. Any help would be appreciated because I really want to shop around for Android phones, but this is the one thing that's holding me back. Thank you in advance. [link] [comments] |
Is there a photo app where I can resize and move around without any limitations? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 12:10 AM PST
The reason being I want to see how big something will be in real life standing on my bookshelf. So I need to be able to move the image on my tablet beyond the bevels, and zoom as much as I need to. The Google photos app snaps the image back to a certain size when you try to zoom it too much and the photo can't be moved past a certain point outside of the screen, it gets stuck because it hits a boundary. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2018 08:31 AM PST Hey guys, I had a Note Edge for over 3 years now and loved the Edge functionality, where I could add folders as well as shortcuts to the side of my phone to quickly access them anywhere with a swipe from the right side of the phone. Yesterday I purchased an LG V30 and while it comes with a "floating bar" it's not nearly as convenient and gets more in the way than anything. I looked around for a bit and saw a few of those edge apps that add that functionality to non samsung phones. Can someone here recommend me the best one if you will?` Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Need a real-time data usage monitor in my status bar, just like the one in gravity box.. Posted: 23 Feb 2018 05:58 PM PST I do not have root or Xposed, so no gravity box.. What app can I use to enable this feature? [link] [comments] |
Has Poweramp become outdated? Have other apps outshone it? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 11:46 AM PST Basically the title. Mention if there are any better music players. Thanks. [link] [comments] |

[DEV] Turn your Android Device into a Windows Media Remote Control. Posted: 24 Feb 2018 07:08 AM PST Hiya guys, I've made a Windows Media Remote Control called Couch Cast. Here is the Store page. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.eureka.couchcast Here is the website. http://www.couchcastapp.com Here is the media server required to connect the Android device to Windows. https://sourceforge.net/projects/couch-cast-media-server/?source=navbar Please drop me a review if you liked it! Posted: 24 Feb 2018 03:58 AM PST I want an app that will organise my files automatically. (Say I put some photo's on my phone, it'll automatically move them to my SD-card and put in in the "Pictures" folder. I want this for all types of files like .mp3's, videos, docs etc. and maybe be able to set different locations for all the different types.) Don't know if this is still possible on later versions of android? I have a Samsung J5 6.0.1. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Join (by joaoapps): Notification mirroring on Windows app Posted: 23 Feb 2018 11:45 PM PST I can get notification mirroring on the Chrome app, but I can't seem to get it to mirror to windows (sms works though). Is it even possible? There's no option in the app but the windows store description says that there is notification mirroring. I don't use Chrome so I need this functionality. Thanks! Question: how safe is microg? Am I giving away access to my Google account? Posted: 24 Feb 2018 04:58 AM PST If anyone is able to shed some light, I will appreciate it. I'm thinking about ditching the official Google YouTube app, but in order to have my subscriptions, I need microg + iytbp. However I don't fully grasp how microg works, and whether all my login credentials would go to a third party in the login process. [link] [comments] |
Looking for an app that tells the prices of the Share Market and Cryptos. Posted: 24 Feb 2018 04:26 AM PST Had an older android tablet (4.0.2) to wall mount, though I might as well use it to see the prices of my portfolio, looking for anything that could use a larger screen and was clean. Broken screen (bottom part unusable): is there an app to make work around this? Posted: 23 Feb 2018 11:45 PM PST I just dropped my One Plus 3T and the screen is broken (some cracks) and the bottom part is unusable. This means I can't use the lowest row of the keyboard for example. Right now I am traveling Asia for a few months. So I can't send it for repairs. Is there maybe an app that allows to use a "smaller section" of the screen? Or is there maybe an alternative keyboard for example, that uses not the bottom part of the screen? My phone is not rooted. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
What's the best music player right now? Posted: 23 Feb 2018 04:18 PM PST I just canceled my Spotify subscription - simply not enough music - and $10 a month is outrageous. However, I will concede that it was a pretty good interface and met my needs. I'm a bit of a stickler for organization. I'd like an app that lets me organize music, add covers, rename songs and stuff like that. What's the best music player out right now, in your opinion? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Feb 2018 11:39 PM PST I need a good timer app that can have 10-15 timers active at the same time. I have 2 apps called Timer+ and Timers. I like Timer+ but the sounds or notifications dont appear. With Timers only the sound works, my phone doesn't light up, I need the sound and an alert on the screen. If anyone can suggest an app or a solution to me that would be cool. I have no battery saving on or have edited my notifications in any way. I have a oppo A73 if that helps. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Feb 2018 05:48 PM PST The title pretty much says it. I'm working on my engineering capstone project and we need to buy parts. We have a cap of $50 each but sometimes is hard to keep track how much each is spending and we want to make it as equal as possible. Is there an app that would allow us to put say $10 bucks on a fund and make purchases from there? [link] [comments] |
