[DEV] Spectre - Client Modification for Snapchat Posted: 21 Feb 2018 05:59 AM PST Hey /r/androidapps! I'm Elias. Just here to announce that myself, as well as a few others, are currently working on a Snapchat™ Android client called Spectre. We've been working on this now for a few months, and would now like to present it. We're hoping 'polish it up', take on new ideas, and improve before we release. Here are a few screenshots of the client in-
Love to take any questions and take on new suggestions! Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Feb 2018 04:48 AM PST Update: Pulse SMS is exactly the solution I was looking for. Looks and acts a lot like android messages (material theme and simplicity) and so far appears to sync and work flawlessly. Thanks so much! Hello, I do a lot of texting and find it much more convenient to be able to type on my keyboard than to have to keep unlocking and fingering my phone all day. I don't know jack about technology, and am not the least bit interested in it, so the most newbie-friendly option would be ideal. I've used Mightytext and it works fine, but I exceed the free limit quickly and the idea of paying a monthly fee just for a single functionality just irks me. I give Verizon enough money every month the way it is for phone service. Speaking of verizon, they have the message+ app that has a web component...and it blows. It's super slow, randomly bugs and sends messages out of order or 30 minutes late. It failed to notify me that I had messages this morning so I pissed away a lot of time waiting on a client to show up who had texted to cancel our appointment(notifications are on). Android Messages is supposedly going to have this feature in it's next update, so that will hopefully solve the problem, but for now, does anyone have suggestions? Others I've tried mysms - 100 message limit, laggy join - never synced and wouldn't let me use sms on computer pushbullet - also costs monthly I hate sounding like a complainer, but as someone who is a mere consumer, it seems like this would be pretty basic. iMessage does this, so I don't get why google hasn't found a solution yet. I guess they have been too busy trying to get people to use a bunch of different messaging apps. I can't imagine why you'd want to use an app that everyone else has to be using for it to work, because most people aren't going to be using it, and who wants to fool with multiple messaging apps? Encrypted Instant Messaging apps that allow for anonymous accounts? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 09:58 AM PST I'm looking for recommendations on Instant Messaging apps that support encrypted communication and anonymous accounts (not attaching your phone number or email to the account). Thank you. [link] [comments]
Does anyone know of an Android alternative to the app Clips from the appstore? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 05:42 AM PST Clips is a video app that enables you to talk and turns your speech into captions. This is the most important feature for me. I rarely make videos so I have no clue what gems are out there on the Play Store. Hope you guys can help me out :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Feb 2018 08:57 AM PST I REALLY want to use AntennaPod for podcasts but I can't figure out if you can sort by date (not in a queue). Can it be done? I don't even know who to contact to request it. [link] [comments]
Searching for a note/diary app with photo, video, voice support Posted: 21 Feb 2018 03:59 AM PST I am searching for an app that I would use for personal journal keeping. I tried a lot of diary/journal and note apps and cant find the right one which has all the features. On the diary app front I found diario to be useful, but then I had the need to add videos. Omninotes is great overall, but it doesnt support tagging a note with a date. It just keeps and modification date The app should support the following:

Posted: 21 Feb 2018 09:00 AM PST Hi I am looking for an email client that can use a proxy server. Is there such a thing? I only want this one app to go through a proxy server and the rest of the phone to work as normal. Any suggestions? Thanks [link] [comments]
Any apps that would allow me to find lodging/housing for a few months at a time? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 07:20 AM PST Ill be doing contract work for the next year or so, until I have enough experience to go direct hire. Any apps that could get into housing for 3-6 months at a time? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

Is there a way to trick an app into thinking that location service is on? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 06:54 AM PST Hello. I have a rooted device (Mi Max 2) and I just bought a fitbit. For some reason my fitbit won't sync unless my GPS is on and they state that it's a restriction set by Google but I don't believe them because I have two other fitness bands which do similar things and don't require GPS to be on. Anyway I keep GPS off and would like to keep it that way so I was wondering if I can somehow trick the fitbit app into thinking that GPS is on so that it will sync. Thanks [link] [comments]
Looking for a "Notepad+" alternative (text, draw, pages), any suggestions? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 04:29 AM PST I previously purchased the Notepad+ app by Apalon both on the Amazon App Store and Google Play, but the developers have removed the apps from both of these and made it available only on iOS grumble grumble... I'm looking for an apk that allows the user to draw, type with text and have pages, simulating a real notebook but with clear text (my handwriting is appalling). I've tried INKredible but the line-writing just doesn't work so well for me, leaving gaps in letters and generally looking untidy. I just want an app to plan out my game design quickly and cleanly. Also - small bonus question: I'm using the new Amazon Kindle Fire HD10 with Google Play side loaded. With drawing apps, there seems to be a small delay between drawing a dot and drawing a stroke. This means the smaller strokes I want to do only get draw as dots. Is there any way of changing this? PS - I've tried downloading the app from APKPure etc, but the adverts are driving me mad. I did buy the app twice before.. I'd really prefer not to be bombarded with ads! UPDATE: I've decided to go with INKredible Pro. After experimenting, it offers all the same features as Notepad+ and more. I'm rather happy with it! Thank you to everyone who commented! [link] [comments]
A QR Code scanner that checks for duplicate? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 01:40 AM PST Hey everyone, Is there a QR code scanner that can check for duplicate entries? Even better would be if it can also export the results as an excel. Thanks in advance!! [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Feb 2018 12:20 PM PST Anyone know of a free app that automaticly uploads a screenshot when I take it and copies the link to my clipboard in under 2 minutes? [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Feb 2018 11:51 AM PST Anyone have any Titanium alternatives that they can recommend? TB is severely un-intuitive, outdated from a UI and standpoint and many features no longer work. I could Google Search but I am looking for first hand experience from the community. If anyone knows of anything that is able to do App and Data backups that is both functional and reliable please list it. I am not going to turn this into a bashing thread, I just think the app is outdated, the developer doesn't care and the only thing keeping it alive is it's Legacy/Name. [link] [comments]
Are there any e-book apps that use a folder system instead of a import system ? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 11:41 AM PST Sorry if this is not very clear what I am asking for, so I will try to be more detailed. I have all of my books separated into folders by author then each folder is separated by series. Most apps I have found have an import button that just grabs everything and mixes it all up. The best thing I have found so far is the collection feature of prestigio. Thanks for any help. [link] [comments]

Facebook app without messenger? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 10:18 AM PST I receive my Facebook messages through disa so I have no need for the Facebook messenger app. However, whenever I get a FB message, I get a FB notification on the messenger icon in the top right, that when I click tells me to install messenger. This notification persists even after I've read the message on disa and only goes away when I close and restart Facebook. Does anyone know of a Facebook app that isn't going to try and force the messenger app down my throat every chance it gets? [link] [comments]

What apps do you have a subscription for and why? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 09:42 AM PST I have no idea how to link to articles from the Boost app for Reddit. So I'll just list mine. I'm really curious what you guys use and if it can make something in my own life better. Spotify [$4.99 monthly] - I used to be on Deezer, but I switched back again . Why? I'm a student and I got a discount. It works good enough with my Shazam and Sonos. Tinder [$9.99 monthly] - I'm a good looking Tinder savage and I love talking to women. Not into dating or relationships, but every now and than I meet new girls from different countries and I just friendzone them, because having girls as friend is better than being in a relationship with them. Google Drive [$19.99 yearly] - The backup option is great and I keep my music, games, photos and videos backed up all the time. Crunchyroll [$4.99 monthly] - I love watching anime and reading manga. I love to support artists in a legal way as much as possible, because they put effort in it. [link] [comments]
