I just received my Gamevice for my Note 8, I thought I'd post a short review Posted: 28 Feb 2018 02:33 AM PST I ordered a Gamevice controller from Amazon US (shipped to UK) about a week ago and received it yesterday. What drew me to it was it's design (gripping the phone between two sides of the controller) and use of the USB-C port over bluetooth. I've only played Death Road to Canada and Rules of Survival with it so far. It works really great with DR2C, all the buttons can be configured in the menu. On RoS, even though you cannot configure the buttons, the default controls actually work. The only thing you can't do is switch weapons without using the touchscreen, I tried using the SteelSeries Stratus XL in RoS before and although you can switch weapons, the shoot button didn't work (it would hold the fire button and not release it) + right analogue diagonal axis over-accelerates. The controller feels solid and pretty good in the hand, almost console quality and the buttons are responsive. The analogue sticks are decent, not quite perfect, not enough resistance. The device fits comfortably around the Note 8, almost too comfortably when I first tried it, but it has a rubber lining that grips onto the phone so I wasn't too worried about damaging my phone. There is a bit of a wobble on the left side, but that doesn't really bother me. I really like the placement of the ports, with both the headphone jack and USB-C port below on the right side, and they don't get in the way when you're gripping the Gamevice. The speaker grill on the right side directs the poorly placed speaker hole found on the Note 8 forwards, which is probably one of it's best features. The Gamevice also fold neatly into a small bundle with it's built-in magnets at the back of each side. My only other real complaint is that the shoulder buttons don't feel as good as proper console buttons, they don't have a satisfying click but I'm sure they won't really bother most casual gamers. TLDR: The Gamevice is good controller that doesn't quite have the console quality like the Stratus XL offers. But it's portability and clever design choices is just short of perfect for gaming on the go. Edit: You can't use a case for it, the phone has to be naked. Here is a picture of one folded, the magnets are not particularly strong. Edit 2: Photos. [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Feb 2018 09:37 PM PST It's a port of the PSP version. But how does it control? I don't have a working PSP anymore, so is it worth the money? [link] [comments]
