    Weekly App Suggestions: "Icon Packs"

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 11:24 AM PST

Hello! Welcome to the weekly app suggestions post, where apps of a certain category can be requested, shared, and discussed.

This week's category is Icon Packs. What icon packs do you use to customise your launcher's icons?

Additionally, why do you use these apps?

All top level comments must contain an app suggestion or a specific request (use Linkme: app name to automatically fetch a link). Devs, feel free to post your own apps in this category and get feedback!

Previous weekly app suggestion posts can be viewed here.

Special thanks to /u/yazeed105x for this week's suggestion!

Google now prohibits apps that use lockscreen ads

[DEV] I am looking for feedback on my recently launched hyper local social app after 3 long years of development.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 09:34 AM PST

Hello everyone! I'm kind of a reddit rookie and not really sure where to post this but this is a very exciting and busy time for our team as we have recently launched our app, UBMe. After 3 long years of developing the app we finally feel we have a great product for users!

ANY feedback would be highly appreciated

    Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.UBMe

Description: The main purpose of this app is to connect you with real people that have the same interests as you and are in the same place as you via the live chat. The live chat is the main feature that allows UBMe to stand apart from other apps. UBMe allows you to check into any place you are in across the country and start a live conversation with people who are also there. For example, if you go to a football game you can check into the stadium and talk with all of the fans that are there. Once you leave the place you are at, you get checked out.

The app also features local activity where you can post pictures, videos, and updates that people can see in your local area. These posts can be posted to the public or set to a private setting so only your friends and followers can see your posts. The last major feature is the events where you can discover thousands of events in your local area.

Problem: I would love to get some honest feedback and help with beta testing on our app. We have been fixing various bugs since our release on the play store. I think we got most of them but it varies with every new phone we try. Please don't hesitate to tell us your thoughts or report bugs. We welcome any criticism, feedback, help with beta testing, whatever! If you need anything from me, let me know!

(Question) Any apps like JDownloader or equivalent that will allow me to use a premium filehoster account?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 06:32 AM PST

I have been using ADM Pro for a while and really like it. But I can't use my Real-Debrid account with it automatically (at least not that I've been able to find). The "official" RD app suuuucks! I pay for premium filehosting speed and I do not get anything remotely close to that when I use the android app. Desktop? Everything is fine. Android? Blow me.

Are there any download apps that will store and use premium account logins???

[Dev] TouchRemove 2 - Remove unwanted objects from Photos: 55 Promo codes

    Posted: 30 Nov 2017 10:50 PM PST

TouchRemove let's you easily erase unwanted objects from your pictures. You mask them, the app uses an algorithm to paint over the masked area (think Photoshop's content-aware fill).

Thanks to a lot of useful feedback from the Reddit community, I completely updated TouchRemove (better and faster paint algorithm, nicer UI)

TouchRemove is available on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.genewarrior.touchremove

Here are 55 promo codes: https://www.play-code.xyz/ShowPromotion?promotionId=1512110378388

    Any feedback is welcome!

    Edit:

more codes because it's almost weekend: : https://www.play-code.xyz/ShowPromotion?promotionId=1512140778655

    Hola Beta Testers!

So many good and great things are happening to Memorigi these days! Here's what's included in new beta release:
    * Revamped Task Gestures - You can now swipe your task card up, down, left, and right to achieve four different actions
    * New Task Card Design - A new amazing design to fit whole concept of cards and notebooks
    * New Dynamic Actions - A new set of dynamic actions will appear in your task card whenever you save a phone number, an email, or an URL
    * New Search View - Yes! Memorigi now have search with hash tagging capabilities
    * New Hashtags - You can now add #hashtags to your tasks to easily apply dynamic tagging
    * New Due Tasks Indicator - You'll now see a dot indicator on your lists whenever one of their tasks are due
    * New Section for Notes - The previous Unplanned section has now become the new Notes section for all your great notes

I hope you like and find useful all these new cool features. If you do, I want to ask you for your help. Yes, Memorigi needs your help because competition is becoming hard and unfortunately, big companies are trying to kill Memorigi. All I ask is go to your Google Play Store and leave a review. That's it. A couple of minutes of your time could help Memorigi a lot.

As usual, don't stop sending me your emails with suggestions!

    Sincerely,
    rylexr

TV Show reminder w/custom timezones with suggestions

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 10:34 AM PST

Basically I'd like something like Hobi with its nice interface and abundance of obscure (read: non-US) shows, only where I don't have to manually check every single episode I watched for past shows, with a time scheduler according to my timezone and a suggestion engine based on my preferences.

    Anything like that at all?

[Question] Bluemail Email App notifications disappearing

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 09:42 AM PST

Hello i am having a really weird issue with Blue Mail which i use for email I was hoping someone would help me out. I've used blue mail on a few different phones and never had issues. My last s6 active broke so I just got a new one and set everything up as close as possible from how I remember.

I am having a weird issue with blue mail specifically where i get notifications but they disappear after a few seconds as if I swiped them away. This is really annoying because I email a lot and have been basically missing notifications.

Any ideas on what I can do? The notifications do show up so obviously they're working, I turned off "snooze notifications" through bluemail in case that had anything to do with it

[Question] Flamingo currently working with Tweet Marker?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 05:56 AM PST

I am new to android and working to get twitter syncing device to device.

Current best option seems like Flamingo with tweet marker and then possible tweetbot on desktop with tweet marker (may need to look into a new desktop app).

Question is, whenever I enable Tweet Marker in Flamingo, flamingo says "couldn't connect to tweet marker."

So is tweet marker still currently working?

Should I be looking for another solution?

Play Music Stored on NAS - SMB

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 09:35 AM PST

I have my music - FLAC and high quality MP3, stored on a NAS, SMB/NFS. The only app that I've found that can play an entire folder/album is ES file explorer. I had to uninstall the free version, and considering ES Pro but would like to avoid for obvious reasons.

Also, I have an older NAS - can't install servers or anything on that for streaming.

What I've tried: FX Explorer with the Plus trial - can connect to SMB but can't play an entire album/folder. Am I missing something? Samba Network Music Player - last time I tried it was too messy to use.
MiXplorer - looks good but no mention of audio support. ES Free version - works flawlessly but privacy concerns. Also all the junk makes it unacceptable. The Pro version was recently updated.
Neutron - indexing not acceptable. Messy/complicated interface.

The requirement is to point toward a folder on the NAS and play all songs, not indexed. Have I missed anything? It's hard to believe that ES Free/Pro is still the only viable option. Also, very good audio quality is a huge plus. I use Poweramp and am happy with that for local files.

    Secure Folder replacement?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 02:12 AM PST

I rooted my samsung a5 2017 and I no longer have access to secure folder (tripping knox). Rooting was definitely the right decision but I am looking for a secure folder alternative. Is there a magisk/xposed module? Or an app that can do it? (preferably from f-droid).

How to transfer files from SD to a new (bigger) SD?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2017 06:35 AM PST

    So, i have a 16gb on my phone, i just got a 64gb SD...

And for the life of me i cant find how to safely "clone" or transfer the contents of the original SD to the new one to make a seamless transition...

A simple "sd->pc" then "pc->newSd" would do for my videos and photos and documents, but for the rest? like the folders i didnt create?
