    Currently looking at a top-of-the-line macbook air (1.8ghz intel cpu, 8gb ram, 512gb ssd) but I was wondering if a 13" macbook pro was worth it? I'm slightly confused as to why the macbook air is an "air" if the macbook itself is both smaller and lighter than the air models. Also, I'm wondering if Apple will bring out a 2018 model with any of their macbooks, and whether it's worth more to buy online or in a shop. Also, I'm a british student, so I qualify for Apple's education pricing

    Buy a laptop in US from EU

    Hello world,

    I'm looking for a new laptop (it will probably be a Razer Blade, or a Dell XPS 15), but the price here in Europe are so much more expensive than in the US!

    So I looked on eBay, and there is some pretty good deals. But when it comes to buy something in the US as a European citizen, eBay charge a lot of importation tax fees (like 300€ for these laptops), and it ruins the deals...

    So here are my questions : - is there any way to avoid these fees? - is there any other website where I can buy my laptop without paying a third of the price more on importation fees? - any options or suggestions?

    Dell xps 13 i5 7200u 8GB of RAM w/ 128 ssd

    So I'm currently a junior in high school, and I'm looking for a laptop that I will have throughout college (4 years). Is this good? I know it's not the most updated model for the xps, but I'm not looking for a laptop that will run the most intense games. However, is this laptop still good for games on steam?

    On connecting to a 144hz monitor

    Looking to buy the predator helios 300, And i've been wondering if its possible to connect it to a 144hz (or 120) display. Some people say you cant, Some say you do. From what i heard it can be done through the HDMI port?

    Spilled ravioli all over my keyboard, please help.

    I have a 2016 Acer R15 model with the lighted keyboard feature, and the build of this model is not like older ones by any means. I cannot easily get access to underneath the keyboard to see if I should clean or repair it. My keys glow a red tint now since there's 2 day old ravioli dried up underneath there. A bit also got in the hinge part that I hear contains wires and should never be disassembled. I want to know if there's a specific method to accessing this type of project or if I can just forget about it. I'm stuck with this laptop for the next couple of years so I really hope I didn't do that much harm. If anyone has any tips as to where I should start on this I would greatly appreciate that. I'm also curious as to how to remove the keyboard as I've only removed the back and replaced the hard drive before. Just very upset as I spent a lot, I mean a lot of money on this equipment.

    Snapdragon laptops or Macbook Pro?

    My laptop is getting quite old and I am looking forward to buying a new laptop next year. My two options are either a Snapdragon laptop for amazing battery life and LTE support or a Macbook pro (the older one with normal ports). I need a laptop just for school, youtube, netflix etc. Which one would you recommend?

    Heya there ! I recently received my dell inspiron 7577 , however , i am having issues with the battery life. Installed a fresh copy of windows 10 and all drivers in order. At first I made a full charge and later when i saw that at 30 % the battery suddenly dropped at 6 and required a charge. Just charged it fully and in a minute from 100% it dropped to 93%.I am thinking that it needs calibration but how to do so ? Hopefully someone can help !

    P.S the remaining hours keep changing from 1 hour and 30 minutes , to 2 hours , to 3 hours and so on and so forth. I thought after the full charge it would fix itself but sadly it did not.

    Just got this and loving the quality screen, most other laptops either have a good screen and poor specs, or good specs and a poor screen.
    Would highly recommend for anyone wanting reasonable performance and a nice screen for less then £1000.
    Previously had a Zenbook UX410 which has an amazing screen, and compared to that, the GL553 hold up pretty well.

    Want to upgrade my dell XPS 13's SSD to 500 gB but i'm not sure what to do?

    As the title says, I want to upgrade my Dell XPS 13's SSD from 128 to 500 gb but I don't know what to do. So my first and main question is: What type of SSD do I buy? M.2 SATA or M.2 PCIe? Is there any noticable difference between Samsung 850 Evo and Crucial MX300?

    My second question is: Can anyone link me a trustable and "verified" (like is confirmed to work) site that has some instructions on how to replace it?

    My third and final question is: Is there any warnings/cautions I should know before replacing it so I don't mess up?

    How do I attach an external SSD and 2k monitor to a Thunderbolt 3 port at the same time?

    I've got a Lenovo 720s with a Thunderbolt 3 port.

    I doesn't have room for a second HD. So external is only option.

    I've got a 1TB SATA SSD that I want to run as fast as possible. And I think I need to run it from the T-bolt 3 port to get the best speed.

    Also, I have a 2K monitor I want to run at 60Hz. The 720s only has a v1.4 HDMI port (with max 30Hz @ 2k), so the T-bolt 3 port is the only option.

    How do I run both from the T-bolt port at the same time?

    All the T-bolt hubs I've seen so far only have USB 3.0 or 3.1 Gen 1 ports. None have 3.1 Gen 2 ports or T-bolt pass-through.

    I'm looking for a cheap but elegant solution.

    What should I do?

    Looking for a laptop. Is any of these good?

    I have a budget of 750€-800€

    I want it to have a good battery life and the best specifications for the money.

    The weight and thinness are not very important although I would like if it wasn't very lightweight/slim as I don't really like those.

    The operating system needs to be Windows, Linux or no OS.

    Screen size between 14 and 15.6.

    Will be using mostly for programming (Visual Studio, VirtualBox/VMWARE, Adobe CC (Photoshop, Premiere, etc)) but also CSGO and Civ 6 and would like it it ran at least on medium at a good speed (is 60FPS much?)

    I want it to have a good build quality, good screen and good keyboard, a good touchpad would be a plus but not a necessity.

    I made this list of computers that caught my eye. If any of these is good please tell me. The ones highlighted in yellow are the ones that I was really considering.
