That's when we started getting really scared cause we have a put a lot of money on our accounts and some of us have our credit cards linked. My computer is just randomly restarting with no warning. This has started happening ever since I swapped my motherboard out with a different one. I know the issue is not due to temperature because I've been monitoring the temperature.

There is some problems: 1)After installing Realtek HD Audio there isnt that manager program that used to be and i cant get it no matter how many times i install and uninstall. 2)There is no headphones or other devices beside speakers, Realtek digital output and 4 digital Audio(DHMI) devices. All of them are always not connected except for Realtek digitial output which doesnt do anything. 3)Only way of making headphones work is by plugging to back port and front ports doesnt work (even when it works still says that my headphones are speakers).

Brand new Lenovo Ideapad 310 bought directly from Newegg (Not a third party vendor of theirs) on Black Friday weekend and Lenovo website shows that the warranty was activated in Oct 2016 and is now expired.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2017 04:22 PM PST

Client of mine bought that laptop for his son for xmas. Son opened it on xmas and used it for two days no issues. Yesterday was using it, plugged in AC adapter when low battery alert come on and heard static zap and unit went dead. Would not power up at all.

He called Lenovo about it and they told him it was out of warranty but they would still honor the warranty and do a repair or he can contact Newegg and return it. Long story short, Newegg is going to exchange under their extended holiday return policy.

My issue is the fact that the warranty was activated long before the product was sold. My client gave me the serial number and I checked the warranty status on the Lenovo website for myself and indeed it was expired. Warranty started 10/26/2016 and ended 12/28/2017 according to the warranty info.

Anyone ever run across this warranty scenario with Lenovo. Newegg is an authorized reseller and the warranty shouldn't activate until the sell date. Very strange.

Trying to restrict Wifi for a specific iPad in the house, I wanted to see if it was possible to block internet access for that specific device in the house. To keep it simple, it belongs to my sister and my mom asked if I could cut her internet access instead of doing the whole "give me the iPad", "no" song and dance when she misbehaves. So can I do that with this modem? I am aware that I can enable parental controls on the modem and give 2 Mac Addresses total freedom, but there are many devices in this house and it will result in more complications.

Having to underclock new 8GB RX 580 to avoid monitor signal loss

    Posted: 27 Dec 2017 11:46 PM PST

I made another thread earlier about losing signal to my monitor when starting up games and I've sort of pinpointed the issue more.

So when I was starting up both League of Legends matches and Overwatch matches, my monitor signal would give way and keep flashing like I was alt+tabbing from a fullscreen game or switching inputs.

So I tried cutting down the GPU frequency by 30% and boom, no problem anymore, except obviously that I get shittier performance from the GPU

Now, when I use my 144hz monitor's stock DVI cable, the display wouldn't crash and the games have the fps I would expect from the card, I guess it's just that the DVI cable wouldn't allow display over 60hz.

I have tried multiple 144hz-supported HDMI cables and neither work.

Also tried screensharing with a buddy while recreating the issue and he said that on his end everything looked fine while my display was bugging out.

    Computer Type: Desktop

    GPU: XFX RX 580 8GB

    CPU: Intel i5-2500k

Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P8P67 REV 3.1 (LGA1155)

    RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 802MHz

    PSU: Unsure

Operating System & Version: Windows 10

    GPU Drivers: 17.12.2

    Chipset Drivers: Unsure

    Background Applications: Just the games

Others can hear my audio from headphones when I'm on audio call (Gigabyte GA-H170M-DS3H / Realtek Driver)

    Posted: 27 Dec 2017 03:55 PM PST

So I have an issue that's been bugging my friends on audio calls and I've tried everything. They can hear everything that goes through my speakers, including their echo. I bought a Gigabyte motherboard GA-H170M-DS3H and installed their proprietary Realtek driver. Tried disabling Front Panel detection, tried both the front and back panels, tried different drivers, and I don't think it's a headset issue. Also found this (http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-2494027/youtube-transmits-mic-teamspeak.html ), tried switching as said, didn't help.

For the record, plugging my microphone in the front panel also adds a buzzing noise. I'm convinced it's an issue with Gigabyte's card.

    Pls help.

Hello, Reddit. I have an eMachine that is very old, yet still runs better than my other laptops. I was thinking about adding some years to its life by upgrading some stuff. I know, eMachines aren't the best PC, but I find the computer great for just researching, looking for parts, and all that. I also know that I need to upgrade the RAM.Would I be better off just getting a new PC? Specs here...: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/GzKbn7Rs3IvdDi3IwNUVbNw

Random reboots on 4K 60 Hz when playing games

    Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:39 AM PST

Hi folks! I have this very odd problem after a clean Windows install. PC ran the Anniversary Update before. Any help is appreciated.

    Problem

Whenever running a game (either OpenGL or DirectX) for a while in 4K 60 fps (using a 15 meter/50 ft HDMI cable), the PC reboots instantly. This problem also occurs on lower resolutions and/or with less FPS/Hz, albeit less often.

Also, when not running a game the display goes to black for a second every once in a while. It restores fine. But probably related!

There's no BSOD. Only a critical event about the unexpected reboot can be found in the system event viewer.

It varies per game how often the PC reboots. For example, Rocket League plays fine for 2 hours. While Overcooked, Age of Empires 3 and Cemu can crash within the first few minutes (even when in game menu), but sometimes run a lot longer as well.

    What works fine

    • Keeping the PC on the desktop for a long time, apart from the minor issue mentioned above.
    • CPU benchmark goes fine as well (Prime95).
    • GPU benchmarks (Furmark for 1 hour and several 3DMark tests). They might run fine because they don't reach a constant 60 fps in 4K.
    • Before the re-install I ran Win10 Pro x64 Anniversary Update. Everything was fine and no crashes occurred. The display did go to black every once in a while, but usually only when idling.

    Possible cause

Because of the cable distance the display connection is sometimes lost, which restores fine when not playing a game. However, when there is a 3D context, Windows crashes and reboots.

    What I've tried so far

    • Disabled internal GPU and removed Intel GPU drivers.
    • Reset UEFI/BIOS settings.
    • Re-installed Windows multiple times.
    • Tried out NVIDIA driver from a year ago.
    • Both disks (SSD and HDD) are checked and found to be OK.

    Specs

    • Win10 Pro x64 Fall Creators Update (English)
    • Latest nVidia and Realtek HD Audio drivers
    • GIGABYTE Z87N-WIFI (latest BIOS)
    • Intel Core i5-4430
    • MSI GTX 970 Gaming (MS-V316)
    • Samsung 840 EVO SSD (250 GB)
    • Regular 7200rpm HDD
    • 2x DDR3-1600 4 GB memory
    • PC has been never been overclocked

    Thanks in advance.

My laptop had an update that took a long time the other day but didnt finish before I went to sleep, now its on an infinite loop. Ive done all the simple steps I know how. And all the other solutions I looked for online said to download stuff from another computer then put it on a usb and stick it into my current computer. Unfortunately I dont have access to another computer atm and tried using my phone as the usb with the download and that didn't work. So now im stuck with this infinite loop screen.
