| Help me get the best tablet for gaming and some more... Posted: 27 Dec 2017 04:34 PM PST For starters let me just state that yes, I do have a very addictive personality. So that's the underlying basis for all of this. With that said... For my New Year's resolution, I've decided to ditch the smart phone. I've had an Android phone since week 1 of the old HTC G1 release (first Android phone, subsequently renamed the Dream). Like a decade ago. Sadly though I've come to believe that the constant presence of the internet, social media, gaming etc is a massive net negative on life. An endless source of distractions, cynicism, nihilism, coarseness and irritability; always there in my pocket, everywhere I go. It's unhealthy. I'm over it. I just want the basics: phone, text, navigation. And that's it. At the same time I also recognize that there are some things that, while I don't want them there always there tempting me, I still would like when the time is right. So I've decided to ditch the smart phone, pick up some cheap piece of shit to replace it and get the best gaming tablet I can get. The problem? I know nothing about tablets. And that's where you come in. I desperately need someone(s) to edumacate my ass. Let me just give some background. From most to least, what I'll be using it for.
I think I want a 10" tablet but to be honest I'm not sure why I want that. Just seems a better option to read comics on. I know I don't want a Kindle Fire. My gf has a cheap 8" Fire and there is hardly anything in the Amazon marketplace as far as games go. I have bought a lot of games over the years that I still need to play so keeping Android is a must. So the obvious answer to all of this seems to be the Nvidia Shield. I have seen it mentioned over and over and some people seem to really swear by it. My big concern though is that it seems like the Shield is a few years old now and I can't seem to find any information on a new Shield coming out. I just really need to get a clearer picture on the short term and long term future of the Shield. I know this question probably gets asked a ton on here so I apologize for the redundancy. I just want to make the smart purchase (I guess it is technically my xmas gift to myself) and I don't know a group of people that I'd rather ask for help. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Is there a way to fix GTA San Andreas' issues? Posted: 27 Dec 2017 12:50 PM PST It crashes constantly and has this white flashing/flickering sometimes. I can put up with the flicker but the crashes are too often. I researched it a little and this issue was on iOS too, but it got fixed a few months ago with an update. Android GTA was last updated on 2015. I am asking again, is there a way to fix this? My device is rooted by the way, if it opens up the possibility of a solution [link] [comments]  | ||
