How to COMPLETELY disable all voice assistant features??? Posted: 02 Jun 2022 06:26 PM PDT I have the Galaxy A20. I have gone through my settings and disabled all the voice crap, but whenever I plug or unplug my USB DAC for my earbuds, the stupid assistant thing pops up. Sometimes when I use my bluetooth earbuds it'll pop up if I tap a button incorrectly and mute my music while it asks me stupid questions or whatever. It's incredibly annoying and grating. How can I completely disable it so it never shows up? Is a root only feature? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
videos and music stuck on "high speed" Posted: 02 Jun 2022 12:21 PM PDT Any videos or music i try playing on my phone have all of the sudden gotten stuck on fast forward. It's everything from the YouTube app, TikTok, Instagram, and spotify. I've tried both doing a quick restart and turning my phone off and letting it sit for a minute and nothing has helped. Any ideas what could be causing this? [link] [comments] |
Motorola razr 5g or Samsung galaxy flip 3 Posted: 02 Jun 2022 06:35 PM PDT Hi So my current phone redmi phone is bugging, I have had it about 8months. I bought it cause my old Samsung 7 died. Now I'm looking at Motorola razr 5g or Samsung galaxy flip 3. The Motorola I'm thinking of buying is second hand and the phone have not really been used that's why the person is selling it. for about 450 dollars (4500 SEK). I can meet the person and check the phone, so I'm not worried about that it would be fake. Or im thinking of buying a second hand Samsung, which are round 600 dollars. I'm mostly curious about the Motorola experience. If someone have had it for a period of time. Any help is good :) thanks TL;DR: should I get the Motorola razr 5g or the Samsung galaxy flip 3. And how's your experience with either of them. [link] [comments] |
Can a deleted photo be a wallpaper? Posted: 02 Jun 2022 06:33 PM PDT For my wallpaper I'm using a photo of my deceased dog. I want to print it out, but when I look in the camera folder it's not there. I've tried a couple other folders and I can't find it. Is it a possibility that I deleted it even though it's still my wallpaper? [link] [comments] |
Old files appearing out of nowhere Posted: 02 Jun 2022 06:32 PM PDT Hey everyone, I used to have an LG G4 way back in 2016. I bought a nextech memory card from Walmart for my camera a couple weeks ago because I lost mine and was in a pinch. I'm still using the card, and tonight would be my third time downloading pictures off of it to my computer. It's worked great but then tonight when I went on I had a bunch of extra folders, most of them are empty but a couple have a bunch of old pictures and videos off of my LG G4! I couldn't believe it. As much as it was nice to look at the memories I was very confused as to how that would have happened as I never backed the phone up to this computer, and of all places how could they appear in an SD card. If anyone has some potential insight it would be greatly appreciated because I am still astonished. [link] [comments] |
Anyone Know of Good Debloating Tools? Posted: 02 Jun 2022 01:56 PM PDT Hey all, Title says it all, really. I have a year and a half old phone that's always been stuck with bloatware, and I've finally decided to remove it. I've learned that there are tools to do this, mainly without rooting my phone. Most of these seem to be plugging my phone into my laptop via USB cord and executing a specific tool or program. Can anyone recommend any specific programs to use? I'm aware of the Universal Android Debloater and ADB App Control. Figured I'd ask the experts here, are these programs safe/virus free/ what have you? Does anyone have any preffered alternatives? Thanks all. [link] [comments] |
LG Velvet Stuck Screen Sharing in TV Ratio Posted: 02 Jun 2022 04:39 PM PDT I made the dumb decision of plugging my LG Velvet into a Dell USB Hub with multiple monitors and other peripherals plugged in. It bugged out my LG severely, and the main issue remaining is that my screen ratio is stuck in "screen sharing mode in TV ratio." Or, that's the bug I get everytime it tries to use my fingerprint and forces me to use a pin. I've been unable to plug it into another device to get the screen sharing UI bubble to pop up. I've tried rebooting under many different conditions and also tried resetting all of my settings. I haven't tried a factory reset - I haven't backed up in over a year and don't want to lose my data. Is there any option besides downloading ADB and trying to resize my screen? It's really frustrating to have almost an inch of unused screen at the top and bottom of my screen. Please help me lol! Get out of recovery mode with a broken screen Posted: 02 Jun 2022 03:04 PM PDT I'm trying to salvage data out of a Samsung S10+ with a broken (read completely black) screen. I tried unlocking it with ADB, but couldn't get the device as USB debugging isn't enabled. Here's my fuckup, I read that you could potentially enable usb debugging while the phone is in recovery mode. So I hopped into recovery mode (phone vibrated for longer than on a normal boot). That's when I realized I was really fucking dumb. Not only does it not work, I can't get out of recovery mode because I have no idea what option is selected (and I'm afraid of accidentally wiping the phone with a factory reset). How can I get out, besides waiting for the battery to drain? And if you have any idea on how to get that usb debugging enabled I'm open to suggestions [link] [comments] |
Questions about Android data transfer Posted: 02 Jun 2022 03:01 PM PDT Hi, I just got a new phone and was wondering if I can do the data transfer with more than one other phone? The phone I am using now was a temporary phone but it does have data I want to transfer. My other, older phone is the one with the majority of data. I want to know if I can perform the system transfer twice and get the data from both phones, or if I have to pick the main phone and then a workaround for the temporary phone? [link] [comments] |
[Question] How to get Hardware Video Acceleration working on Android-x86 with AMD? Posted: 02 Jun 2022 02:57 PM PDT Just out of curiosity. I did use Android-x86 with an AMD A6-6310 in the past because it was a outdated hardware. Things like Videos on YouTube didn't work, showing a corrupted green instead. I wonder how you fix it? Did it work on Firefox for you instead? And there is also encoding, since the A6-6310 has a GPU called Mulins, and it supports H.264 encoding, do you know if encoding works out of the box? What does Android use? Not VAAPI I assume, but maybe a built-in codec? What would it take to get HW Video encoding working on Android-x86? VAAPI and OMX? [link] [comments] |

[Question] Anyone use Android and only Android? Did anyone survive doing that? Posted: 02 Jun 2022 02:42 PM PDT So, you own a Desktop PC, an Laptop, perhaps, a smartphone. Maybe a tablet. Maybe you are even an advanced power user, maybe even a programmer writing mobile and PC apps. But some kind of Android is installed on your Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, and Phone. You have nothing else. You do not use Windows or Mac. You do not use AmigaOS. You only use Android. Wonder if that is survivable. I have tried, since I have a standard PC operated by Mouse and Keyboard. Android Apps are ridiculously difficult to use as they are optimized for mobile and even websites keep defaulting to mobile view on many browsers. Even if Desktop-like UIs are installed. Some apps also hate being windowed. Any Android patriots here? Bonus if you only use pure Android or MicroG instead of Big G's Play Services. What is your experience like? [link] [comments] |
Difference between A/B and A/B slim? Posted: 02 Jun 2022 04:56 AM PDT I found a GSI for Pixel Experience that I'll be trying out (link). Clicked on Releases, and as usual, there was the source code in .zip and tar.gz, and 3 versions: Vndk, A/B, and A/B slim. I know what A/B and Vndk is, but I don't know what A/B slim is and how it was different from A/B, besides in file size. I tried digging around Google for answers but found nothing relevant. Close app on exit | Stop apps from running in background Posted: 02 Jun 2022 01:33 PM PDT It used to be when you "backed out" of an app, it would close it. However, on Android 11, exiting out of an app leaves it running in the background. I still want apps to run in the background, but only when I either press the home button or switch apps. When I "back out", I would like them to close completely. Is there a way to make this happen? [link] [comments] |
Anyone else still getting lock screen/pin loop bug? It's been 3 years. [Pixel 4a, Android 12] Posted: 02 Jun 2022 11:23 AM PDT Hey everyone! It's 2022 and for some goddamn reason, this is still happening! The only answers I have found so far are to factory reset or to disable "media resumption" in dev options. I actually couldn't even find that setting at all after enabling developer options, so feeling lost or like I missed something. Anyone who still has the issue or has got a fix, feel free to chime in here. The google issue tracker was closed as a "won't fix" issue and they're requiring everyone to submit their own separate threads/bug reports. Thanks in advance. ETA: for the uninitiated, when you attempt to unlock your phone, it behaves as if it's succeeded and then routes you back to the lock screen. [link] [comments] |
Media function doesnt work but phone calls do Posted: 02 Jun 2022 07:22 AM PDT Hi. My android suddenly lost its ability to play media sounds through the speaker ie YouTube/videos. In addition, when I connect my Bluetooth earphones they also dun work. However, phonecalls are perfectly fine. I tried manually moving the sound bar but I am unable to move it. Timezone and timestamp discrepancy on photos and videos Posted: 02 Jun 2022 10:30 AM PDT I live in North Carolina (Eastern Standard Time) but often travel to central Tennessee (Central Standard Time) All the photos and videos I take in central time are time-stamped for Eastern time automatically, even though the file paths show the correct local time. screenshots of video details Is there a way to not have the photo gallery change the shown time and simply use the actual local time it was taken? (Same also happens with text messages so I expect this is a system wide setting) I first noticed this during the last lunar eclipse which occurred at 11:11 in TN, but my phone showed the photos as 12:11, Nashville (the file path showed the correct local time of 20220515_231118) With that as an example, perhaps you'd see why it's annoying. While I can go and manually reset each photo individually, one would think there'd be a setting to prevent this from happening in the first place. While we're at it, is there a way to change the time on videos as well? I see no way to change them on the phone or through the computer. One thing I've not noticed but will check when I'm back in TN is if any of these mislabeled times change when I'm in the original timezone. If that's the case, then the Lunar Eclipse example would show the picture as having been taken at 9:11 were I viewing the image in California. Has anyone noticed this themselves? I have a Sony Xperia 5iii (XQ-BQ72) running android 12. The Date & Time settings are set to use locale default, set time zone automatically, and set time automatically. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jun 2022 09:43 AM PDT I have a Samsung Galaxy A21. Android version 11. When I have loaded an app it shows I've used a total of 476mb space of my internal memory. I have the option of moving the app to my SD card in the app settings and have done so. Checked that under the app it shows I have moved the app to the SD card. HOWEVER, when under Battery and device care, there is no app under the SD card heading, no SD memory used for any app, and the total 476mb still using the internal storage. ie - move app to SD card, zero memory change (subtraction) to internal storage, zero memory change (addition) to SD card storage. I've restarted the phone. I've installed/uninstalled the app. I've reset my phone to factory options. Advice appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jun 2022 08:48 AM PDT Hi all - 2/3 seconds after I toggle Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on, they switch off, no idea why :( I've tried switching phone on and off, force restart and also resetting network settings - no change! Phone - Huawei P Smart 2019 Thank you [link] [comments] |
Moto G Fast freezing on 2 contacts when trying to text Posted: 02 Jun 2022 06:48 AM PDT Edit if anyone else has the same issue Messages had an update that could not complete. I cleared the cache and app data and then it was able to update. At that point everything started working again. I have an almost 2 year old Moto G Fast and my carrier is Straight Talk. I have 2 contacts that I cannot text. If I bring up the conversation with either of those contacts, the messaging app immediately crashes and restarts. Things I have tried: 1) resetting my phone numerous times 2) texting straight to the numbers 3) deleting the conversations 4) deleting the contacts 5) sending a text through the contact information a mutual person texted to me 6) all possibly permutations of 1-5 I'm going to try doing a factory reset and re-syncing my contacts this evening. Any other ideas before I try that? [link] [comments] |
Allowing location data in power saving mode? Posted: 02 Jun 2022 06:22 AM PDT My wife and I use Life360. I have power saving mode on but the app can't update my location unless I open it up. Is there a way to customize the battery saver mode so that it allows location data access in the background? [link] [comments] |
Mi 9T lock screen loop - suspected battery issue Posted: 02 Jun 2022 05:19 AM PDT Hello everybody, I've noticed this a couple times over the span of the last week, but sometimes my phone would just go all black and then back into the lock screen every now and then, maybe a couple times per day. I didn't really think anything of it, however, this morning I was unable to really use my phone in any way since I could still unlock it but within a second it would go black and go into the lock screen after around a second. In the lock screen itself, the phone went black and came back to the lock screen repeatedly until I locked it using the button. If I reboot the phone, it works fine for around 20 minutes, but then it returns into the loop. My battery is fully charged, but right after the phone goes into the lock screen again after going black it says 0% for a moment, before going to the actual amount of battery left. Does anyone have a clue what it is, or how I could fix it? [link] [comments] |
Car head unit extreme reduced functionality Posted: 02 Jun 2022 04:36 AM PDT Im having a problem with my car head unit, it is a px3 head unit running android 7.1 made for a 2011 Honda cr-v. The problem i have is that the wifi doesnt turn on, if you try to turn it on it automatically turns itself back off, the gps doesnt work, the bluetooth doesnt work, the head unit doesnt show up on my S20 FE or an iphone 10, even though it says its searchong for devices. The mobile hotspot connection function also doesnt work as it says its turning on but never actually turns on. All of this basically makes the head unit useless. I just bought the car and the head unit looks very new. So what could be the problem and is it fixable? I also tried factory resetting the device and resetting the wireless setting and that didnt help. [link] [comments] |
