I should say that I have heard the bad reviews about the cameras and I don't really care about them as I don't use cameras anyway. Posted: 23 Mar 2022 12:19 PM PDT Hi, I'm pretty sure this is related so I'll start with this info first, I recently updated to MIUI 13 (like a few days ago) and I hear it has... issues? Just now I put a password but then it didn't work when I used it. I'm sure I didn't fuck up because it's short and I used before. I then tried a factory reset but it just won't work. Here's what I did: turned it off, power button and volume, followed the steps, entered the wifi password then the language and all that but when it reached the final stage I couldn't log in to my Google account and another option said "you can log in using your last password" which is the one it didn't accept in the first place, right? I think there's another issue regarding the phone number. It's updated in the Xiaomi account but not on the google account so when I try to verify the google account it needs the phone number, and when I try to change the phone number on the google account using my laptop I need my phone to receive the verification code but my phone is still in limbo and it's not receiving messages LMAO I don't know how I managed to fuck it up this badly, please tell me I can fix it. Thankfully I don't need any of the data on my phone but I still need it to function! Is it even fixable at a shop or something? Can I do it on my own? I thought that when you factory reset a phone it'd become "like new" and you could enter a new google account to manage it, so why is it asking for the old one? Edit: I should add that at the top of the screen there's the battery, wifi and signal and on the left there's a padlock sign (probably indicating that the phone is still locked ?) I have tried everything to mske it stop, taking out permissions, no autostart apps, restrict background activity, etc. I have seen that even factory reset does not work on this. Ik that should be an app asking android for info, but I just do not get it. My screen time on is 8 hours with normal use without crazy draining. I have been using the blokada list for a few days but I don't see a huge improvement maybe 50+ mins of screen time. I also saw that the Miui 13 update is buggy af with a similar problem with the gallery app, so IDK if to update or just try to go full custom, even though I have seen the process take up like two weeks. I tried changing the theme but still nothing. Only thing that kinda works is going to Notification & Control Center and changing the Notification shade from Android to MIUI. | Enabling "adb root" on MIUI 12 or 13? Posted: 23 Mar 2022 10:38 AM PDT Right now when I enter "adb root", it says "adbd cannot run as root in production builds". I need adb root to be able to copy files in restricted folders to the PC. I found this https://github.com/evdenis/adb_root that supposedly will replace adbd with one that allows for elevated access, but I have not tried it because it says right at the home page "will not work with Android 11". The router still acts like man in the middle - acts like DNS server (and forwards DNS queries to my own server). Which raises a lot of questions to Xiaomi. | A bit of a rant and advice needed Posted: 23 Mar 2022 03:14 AM PDT So my phone's motherboard seems to be having an issue leading to failure of front camera and anything related to audio, normally that would come under warranty but due to dents on the plastic sides from normal dropping of phone the warranty doesn't exist anymore and i have to pay 10000 rupees (a bit under 100usd) to get it repaired. I personally think this is stupid and from what I see unique to Xiaomi. Now i don't think I'll buy a mi phone again because of this Now can you share some advice, i have already tried seeing if it's software and it isn't i tried 2 service centres and they said the same thing. I can't fix it. tried rebooting, tried holding the reboot and volume buttons and nothing. | Can i go back to MIUI 12.5.8 from 13 in a Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G (Poco X3 GT) Posted: 22 Mar 2022 08:13 PM PDT HÃ, i'm new with Xiaomi, and i was wondering if there's a tool to flash the OS to get back to 12.5.8, i've never had problems (at least norotious ones) with 12.5.8 or 12.5.5, and i want to go back because this 13.0.3 had some problems that i'm not in the mood to wait to be fixed, and some of them are really bothering me, for example that the Wifi sometimes just froze, the mobile data froze, sometimes it doesn't gave me the best signal, even that i have a good HF signal it always selects the more basic signal, which in the 12.5 it wasn't like that and that is creating me a lot of problems because i have a good signal for those bands but the band that it's taking is the worst (and nope, this is not because of the carrier, i already investigated with other phones and are fine), another problem is that i use a Razer Kishi and MIUI 13 it's constantly rebooting the controller, so i want to go back. It's this possible? jump back from 13 to 12.5? And to add, it's a Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G, the chinese model, it's not the global version/Poco, and i had the global software right now.
