the S22 Ultra in red isn't even close to red Posted: 24 Mar 2022 12:10 PM PDT Just received my s22 ultra in exclusive red. I was nervous it was going to be a burnt orange from unboxing videos. I open it up and it's literally pink. There's nothing red about it. I was excited for the shade of red displayed on the Samsung website actually. This phone looks awful. I'm furious that I did the whole pre-order and spent 200 bucks more for what appeared to be a cool color over a tmobile standard color. I'm definitely going to try and exchange this. If you have a red on the way, be forewarned you're getting a orangish pinkish phone depending on the lighting. Update: Samsung won't exchange and keep my pre order deal. I waited all this time for a pink phone and can't even exchange it. I'll never buy directly from Samsung again. What a joke. [link] [comments] | ||

I had a pixel 6 pro with a hardware issue and after seeing how poorly customer service handled it and how half baked it was, I was extremely disappointed. I was trying to decide between the Samsung and an iPhone, but decided the Samsung camera was just too good to pass up. It just arrived and I'm hyped to get it all set up. It's my first Samsung. Posted: 24 Mar 2022 01:24 PM PDT Ordered an s21fe last week only for those goofball over at FedEx to lose it (more likely employee stole it). I got the runaround and talked to like 15 different people who all gave me different answers and had no clue what was going on. I called Samsung and was treated like my business mattered, long story short I have a replacement phone that is being sent with a 5% discount and $100 worth of free stuff for the trouble. On top of that once the 30th rolls around if I'm not sent the new phone it'll be refunded, if the phone is sent I can send it back and still be refunded. In short I'm not paying for 2 phones and the people over there were super cool. 10/10 would recommend. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 24 Mar 2022 12:14 PM PDT There is the situation: Dec 11,2021: I purchased a Samsung Z flip 3 5g (Unlocked) via the samsung website. Feb 22nd: I contacted Samsung via Chat support regarding my connectivity issue and explained that I need to process a Warranty replacement. The chat rep advised me that I can send the phone in for repair which would take 1-2 weeks during which time I would not have any device with me. Option 2 was to go into Best Buy and get support from Samsung Expert. I set up an appointment to go in but was told the Z Flip3 was not supported and that I can only drop it off at Best Buy for repair, again leaving me without a phone. Feb 23rd: I called in to see if we could find a different resolution, during which the first representative told me a supervisor would call me back. No one called me back. I called in again and again until I was able to get in touch with a supervisor. (took me 2 hr). Supervisor Adelon was helpful. He promised 2 solutions. First solution: Contact sles and see if I can do a return and rebuy since the Unlocked version has a known issue with ATT network. I contacted Sales and they said "no" we cannot do a return, it has to be a warranty call. Second Solution: We raise a ticket with the North America team who will contact you back in 48hr. He "Adelo" said he would call me back in the afternoon to check up on the situation and help raise the ticket if I could not work it out with Sales. HE NEVER CALLED BACK. Feb 24rd: I called in the AM and was connected to a Supervisor quickly. Supervisor claimed his name was "Josh" . He promised that my situation is valid and that he is currently placing an order for my warranty replacement device. He also said that I would have to provide a cc to put on file as a placeholder until I returned the defective device. I was happy and agreed to the deal. He said he would call me back in an hour since the system was down and he could not take my card number at the moment. I said okay. He promised after the call I would get a text with the ticket number. I never received the ticket number or text message. I called back at 12ish pm and was connected to Chara, a customer service rep. After an hour she was able to connect me to another Supervisor named "Denvor" he was having trouble hearing me so he tried to call back and had trouble reaching me due to the phone having tech issue like I claim. I was able to get in touch with him. He finally confirmed that all the other supervisors lied and that he could not see notes made by Josh or the rep when I called earlier in the day. However he said that the only solution is you send us the phone and we will send it back to you ASAP which will leave me without a device for at least a week. Now here is my problem: I cannot be without the phone as I live alone and it's my only communication device. I have call recordings, text messages and call logs as proof for the hours I have spent in the past 3 days with Samsung Support. (Please reach out if you would like a copy of the proof) I was also promised multiple different solutions from your managers who all lied. As a final cry for help, I am reaching out to the President's office. Can you please help me get proper support for my device? I use to be a Samsung employee and its just sad to see how the company is treating customers and it's even sadder to be treated this way. Abnormal S22 Ultra Snapdragon Performace Posted: 24 Mar 2022 12:30 PM PDT Its been 7 days since I am using the phone, but its performance is not as good as the reviews told. Initially I thought AI optimization will kick in after a few days, it did two days ago but still same problems Problems -Device stays warm all the time and really heats up when charging, using camera, high demand apps, games. -I get lags and jitters frequently in the UI animations and in app scrolling (youtube, 9gag etc) after some minutes of usage. -High performance game(PUBG) plays fine initially but after 10-15 minutes it lags really and I see a lot of frame drops eventually after 20mins the game is very frustrating to even play. -Battery life is around max 5-6hours SOT. Also the benchmarks (I know, not a reliable indicator but still.) lag far behind those in all the reviews(screenshots attached) Online Benchmarks scores for reference -GeekBench Single core 1,220 (vs 996 i got) Multi core 3,417 (vs 1,529) -3D Mark 9,841 (vs 4,982) -Antutu Damn I really miss my old Note 10+ now. The Note View Cover is great- as long as you get a screen protector for your screen protector Posted: 24 Mar 2022 02:22 PM PDT A warning for everyone who gets the Note View Cover, which is currently available in Samsung US online when you buy the tab S8 series: It's extemely sensitive to scratching. Like not resistant at all. I wish I got this warning before I started using it. I slipped it into my backpack the first day I got it (yesterday!) and it's already scratched up, with small but somewhat visible scratches all over. I'm going to be careful from now on, maybe even keep it at home and switch covers. Some of you are scared of the cover ruining the spen, and I wonder if that's really a concern. Overall review: I still think it's worth it, as long as you think of it's function as making the screen paperlike and not for protection. In that area, it's amazing. Better than any paperlike screen protector, and imo blows eink out of the park. Other than the fact that's there has to be some back-light, I think it's more paper-like than my eink tablet, though a different type of paper. Maybe I feel that way because paper has some color in it, and it feels more natural to use, read and write on.It doesn't hurt your eyes, writing in color feel you're using markers, and browsing the web feels like reading a magazine. Considering the money people (me) will shill out for e-ink devices, and everyone who just sticks to paper because it feels better than glass, an $80 cover attached to a superior tablet is so worth it, even if you have to be careful. My tablet arrived today, so I tried to redeem the keyboard case, but the case and the other goft bundle were out of stock. I spoke to someone on live chat asking what would happen if they never go back in stock before the promo ends and they told me I'd get nothing. 2022 Over the Horizon Collection Posted: 24 Mar 2022 07:04 AM PDT I was sad to see that the Over the Horizon songs have not been released for download or streaming officially. While there are YouTube videos, these are compressed and some even have parts of the music cut off. So I decided to gather them all and share. For the uninitiated, 'Over the Horizon' is the Samsung Galaxy theme song. The first version was released with the Galaxy S2 in 2011. Every year Samsung refreshes the song and bundles it with their Galaxy devices from that year. These are the original files that you can find shipped with the devices. I only modified the file names and the ID3 tags to correct some mistakes and keep everything consistent. Inside the archive you can find the songs, ringtones and media previews. See you next year! Issue with 'account authorization'? Posted: 24 Mar 2022 06:33 PM PDT Long read. TLDR at end So I pre-ordered a blue 512 S22 ultra on Feb. 17. The next day, I got the authorization charge from samsung which was put back into my account.Fast forward 5 weeks later. The whole time, my order status has been on 'customizing.' Over this past weekend I noticed a pending charge from samsung that was the same as my order total and the original authorization charge. I look Monday and the pending charge is no longer there, but the money has not been taken out of my account. After giving it a couple more days, I call Samsung to ask about it. I am told that my phone is packed and ready for shipment but the charge didn't go through because it wasn't authorized by my bank. I call my bank and they tell me they can't find the original authorization charge, or the most recent pending charge, but there shouldn't be an issue with the authorization. I get into contact with Samsung again and ask them to send the charge again and they tell me it will be sent in 48-72 hours. There was no issue authorizing my last Samsung purchase just a few months ago. I'm just really confused about this whole scenario, has it happened to anyone else? TLDR: Samsung tells me the charge for my order isn't authorized even though they sent the authorization to my bank when I places the order and it was confirmed my bank. [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 24 Mar 2022 05:44 PM PDT Can someone explain why North America gets Screwed? The QN90B has 2021 old Picture processor "Neo Quantum 4K". The QN95B that exist outside NA has the new "Neural Quantum 4K" processor. Old one has 16 the new has 20 thread of AI (if you can call it that). How much will that impact the picture quality. It's already upsetting it doesn't exist in North America with it's Infinity design. But to actually get screwed over in the picture quality is infuriating.. No I am NOT going to spend several THOUSANDS of dollars more on an "8K" model. It's 100% pointless. Does Samsung really think a person is going to go "yeah I think I will spend 2,000-3,000 dollars more for the picture processor and get 8K that has no content and you can only watch upscaled 4K" I can be fine with QN90B not having one connect box and infinity design. But to have inferior picture quality unless I am forced to pay FAR higher price than the QN95B in cost in a QN800B is just a slap in the face. Do they want us to go with competition? On top of it all their Us and Canada Samsung websites can't even get their facts in order. In one place it does say "NEURAL quantum 4K processor", then in the marketing below it's the old "Neo quantum Processor", same in the "detailed specs". How much will this have as an impact on the "real 3D depth" and the "Adaptive shape of light" and so on? Could Samsung clarify this? [link] [comments] | ||

[UK] Finally getting updates for my Red S22U order! Posted: 24 Mar 2022 04:33 PM PDT Placed my order on Feb 9th with an estimated delivery date of 10th March. A couple days before the 10th I asked Samsung support about the order and one agent assured me I was getting it on the day, but I asked again the day before and was told it was gonna be delayed and might take at least a week before I get any updates. The order was at the processing stage this entire time, and over the last weekend I received an email saying the phone is now being customised. I go back onto the Samsung site today to check my order and see that it's now at the "Customisation Complete" stage, and I also noticed that the text saying "Arrives on 10/03/2022 Delivery in 4 weeks" now says "Arrives on 10/03/2022 Delivery in 6-7 weeks". (Also, did anyone else's S22/+/U order emails have mentions of the Galaxy Fold? My order confirmation told me to "get ready for your new Galaxy Fold". And the more recent order update email had the text saying "Customizing your Galaxy Fold" lol) For those of you that have already received your orders, how long did it take for your order to be shipped from the customisation complete stage? Somewhat off topic now, but I've also seen the recent post mentioning the red phone's colour. I guess it'll depend on how it looks in person but I've been looking at wraps from Dbrand to get a nicer, more vibrant red look but it doesn't seem like they have any "clean" ones (two red ones I saw was a carbon fibre pattern, and an MKBHD edition one that has black icons all over), but I haven't bought anything from them before so does anyone have any other recommendations?
