I've been looking closely at the Lenovo Yoga slim 7 Pro gen 6 which comes with a Ryzen 7 5800H and an rtx 3050 but would it just be a better idea to wait a few, to 6 months and buy something then? Posted: 26 Mar 2022 04:15 PM PDT Hi all, I have an HP laptop that works great. 24GB RAM, CPU is i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz × 8, SSD+HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050. I'm pretty happy with it and had no issues until last week. The battery charge stopped at 45%, I went to the repair shop and they opened the laptop. The battery was deformed, some cells are puffed out, so I asked to remove it to avoid damage. I have been trying to find a replacement for that battery model (SR04XL, the part number is 917724-855). It seems HP has discontinued that model, so the only alternative is to buy another battery brand, probably a low-quality one. Right now I'm operating plugged in. I'm fine with that, but I won't be able to work if the electricity goes out. Also, I won't be able to move from my chair and go to another room unless I first turn the laptop off! I have lost mobility. What would you suggest I do besides buying a low-quality battery replacement? I was thinking of buying a power bank (like this one), but that won't help with mobility, I mean, I will need to always be connected to the power bank or outlet. The main issue for me is to lose any work if electricity suddenly fails. Which might damage the components as well. | Dropped my laptop and now it’s running slow. Posted: 26 Mar 2022 02:59 PM PDT Yesterday, I tripped on the charger wire and my laptop (Dell Latitude E5470) dropped on the floor. The impact made the laptop shut off. When I tried to open it up again it wasn't booting up. Eventually after a couple tries, it ended up turning on. But I noticed very quickly that it was running very slow and when I tried to run Valorant it kept saying that it "couldn't update". My printer isn't even connected to the laptop anymore and anytime I try to open an application my screen freezes. I also use the webcam a lot and have many chrome tabs and excel sheets open at the same time. So i was searching for business laptops that would help me and be fast so i can use them as a daily laptop. I ended up between this two options: Thinkbook 13S Gen 2 and Thinkpad Titanium x1 Yoga. Which would you recommend? TLDR: Thinkbook 13S Gen 2 or Thinkpad Titanium x1 Yoga for many tabs open of excel, sap and Chrome (both are at same price range) Thank you very much! In discussion with Lenovo they say the only compatible stylus is the Lenovo Digital Pen 4X81C66286 which of course is out of stock everywhere and not shipping for WEEKS. Seriously? The first Lenovo rep directed me to the Digital Pen 2 but the second rep confirmed what I had read that it was not compatible and said the Lenovo Digital Pen was what I needed. I then found an old post on Reddit saying the Digital Pen 2 DID work for many people with the 7i. Anyone with the 7i have any advice for a stylus? I tutor online drawing and writing in MS OneNote, I do NOT use the Windows Ink Workspace or whatever it's called. Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||
