- My laptop is not powering the fans are spinning and the power button is flashing white every 3-5 sec i have an lenovo idea pad
- Dell XPS hinge/magnet problems. My lid won’t fully close and keeps piping back up
- Laptop(Windows 10) works well with charge/without charge when this symbol is shown. Tried removing the battery and inserting, but no luck. Help needed. Thank you.

| Need some help with ram choices Posted: 24 Mar 2022 03:50 AM PDT So I wanna upgrade the ram for my Acer aspire 5 a515-46-r3ub and was looking at some options and I found this crucial 8gb ram chip, the code or part number (I'm not too sure) is CB8GS2666 so just in case I went on the crucial website to see if it's compatible with my laptop and oddly enough it's not on the site so that kinda boggled my mind and was wondering if I should just get it anyway Also just a quick other question (just to confirm) the laptop comes with a soldered 4gb ram, that won't be too much of an issue with an 8gb ram chip right??? I host some games every thursdays as well and I did it in a HP pavillion with a Intel 630, basically a potato. I don't want to break the bank, but I'd like something that could run Guilty Hear Strive and Street Fighter 5 at 60fps on Med or High settings. * Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
1K or 1.2k USD at most. I really don't want to spend too much since this is more a short term notice purchase
Rather not get it used.
I guess somewhat important? I'm no expert but I would like it not to break by being moved around in a carrying case. I'd also like it to run with
I'd prefer it not to be a large massive brick since I'm not the only one using it but if the price is right I can handle it. So semi-important I guess.
My HP laptop was a 14 inch screen I believe. That's the minimum I want. I don't need a massive screen.
Google Chrome or web browsers. Guilty Gear Strive. Street Fighter 5. Skul the Hero Slayer. Slay the Spire. Dead Cells. Ace Attorney. Those are what I usually had installed.
Med or High settings at 60 for SFV and GGST.
A touchscreen would be neat but it's not the end all be all if its not there.

| I think I deleted a virus from off my laptop but I'm not sure Posted: 23 Mar 2022 08:57 PM PDT To make a long story short, I did a scan on my laptop (Windows 11) to see if I had any viruses. Usually when I do this one or two files will be flagged as potentially harmful so I delete them. Anyway when I did this today I found a file flagged down as a mild threat called program:win32/uwamson.a!ml. Curious, I looked it up on google, and saw it was a potentially dangerous virus that can hack into your camera and microphone. I deleted it but when I did another virus scan, another file with the same name came up as mildly threatening. I did this again and got the same results. I panicked and did a factory reset of my laptop as if I was about to sell it. After the factory reset, I scanned my laptop a few times for a virus, but no files came up. Since I don't see it anymore after the factory reset, I think it's gone for good, but I'm not 100 percent sure. Can anyone tell me if I deleted it and I'm ok or if it's still on laptop? Thanks. I like the design and everything about it more than the Samsung. The Samsung is $500 with my student discount with 8gb of ram and I believe a better cpu as well as screen. I have a desktop for the majority of work but need something to do school work when I'm not home or when I have to go on campus so I'll be doing zoom, excel, stats, economics, and finance class work on it. Battery life and fan noise is important to me. Which one is the better buy? Can I get by with the surface book go or no? I'm only really looking for one of the two, surface is my preference. Also uninstalled the driver's and restarted, still feels weird. It just doesn't respond sometimes, or feels... Clunky. | won't get past logo part of startup Posted: 23 Mar 2022 04:51 PM PDT My laptop does the lenovo logo indefinitely on startup. Shutting down 3 times to boot menu it takes about 5min to get to shutdown continue troubleshoot screen after doing troubleshoot another 10-15min of light blue blank screen before it loads the other options like reset or advanced. I've 1min held down power all things unplugged including battery attempted to reset(it said unable to) I've tried system restore which didn't work cause I had nothing to restore to. And I've tried to Uninstalling latest update which just darkened the screen alot then froze indefinitely. Idk what to do at this point. [link] [comments] |
