I've been getting some annoying "apps" appearing in my home screen.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2022 10:42 PM PST

They have an android icon, I can't delete or look for the app information. They have no name and keep appearing after I installed another app, currently storing them in a folder but it gets really annoying.

    Annoying popup notification

    Posted: 01 Mar 2022 01:50 AM PST

Please delete if this is in the wrong place.

How do I turn off the notification that appears at the top of my screen every time I get a notification?

Since the recent two updates, all my messages are shown unless I turn off notifications completely.

All apps set to delivery quietly and popup style set to brief with no app included. This should mean don't use this stupid feature I never asked for, yet it still does.

Please please help. I might change to Apple at this point.

How to STOP notifications ABOUT unused apps in Android 12

    Posted: 01 Mar 2022 02:39 AM PST

I had resisted the upgrade to android 12 on my Pixel 3a for as long as I could. Then it got to the point where my phone would not stop telling me to do the update, and I could not do anything else until I restart the phone to make the notification go away for a few days. Every single time it has done an update to the next version of android, I have hated the new one more than the old one.

So now I have android 12 and I fucking HATE IT.

It keeps giving me notifications about unused apps. Yes, I KNOW I have apps that haven't been used in a while. I DO NOT need to be told about them. I most certainly DO NOT need android to automatically disable them.

How the FLYING FUCKING FUCK do I stop this stupid fucking OS from annoying me about shit? Every time I try and google an answer, it just tells me how to stop notifications from individual apps, which is not what I need.

HELP deciding on a new phone

    Posted: 01 Mar 2022 02:31 AM PST

So, after years settling for low budget companies like Huawei, OPPO, Honor... I now wanna get something like higher end which can last me more than one year ahahah

I know iPhones can last longer than Samsung but have batteries problem (which idc much about)

    Now I have a budget of 200€

And my top options are iPhone8 and Samsung A22

but looks like the Xiaomi 10 (?) is a good rival to these two.

What I am looking for in a new phone is: + a high level of quality in the camera, I want to explore photography with my smartphone (and idk which of the three can be better both for ig stories, videos and nice photos)

-Batteries idc cause I got the habit of recharging the phone at least every time I am at home

+good speed I don't want anymore a phone which is slooow to open/close apps etc

+and so a good phone which doesn't slow down after a year or so...

    Bulk SMS all contacts?

    Posted: 28 Feb 2022 08:00 PM PST

My father passed away this last weekend. I have coordinated funeral services for next week, and I would like to get the word out to his friends, most of which I do not know. I have his phone, and I'm wondering if it is possible to blast his entire contact list, albeit in some considersate way. (I wouldn't want to make a giant group text and subject several hundred people to infinite crosstalk). I'm guessing becasue of the likelihood of spam/abuse, this is not something Android would generally want to make easy to do. Does anyone have a recommendation how I might acheive my goal?

Do you know a useful app to find an Android without having to have GPS on all the time?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2022 01:14 AM PST

Recently I misplaced my phone at my house, but I thought I left it at the bus, so I went to Google Find my Device website to try to find it. It managed connecting to it, but to my surprise, I could not locate it on the map. Later I tried the option to play a loud sound, and that's when I found it under a couch.

When I got it so see why I couldn't locate it, I found in the settings, that in order to be able to see it in a map I needed to have the Location on all the time, and that uses a lot of battery.

Here is a screenshot of the message Android Settings gives me, in the Google section. Sorry it's in spanish: https://imgur.com/uFhTy6O . It says: "Enable the device's location: If the location is not enabled, you will not be able to find this device"

TL;DR: Is there an app that can be used to find a lost or stolen phone, via a website (like Find My Device) which can enable the phone's loaction remotely? It can also be an app with a built-in feature like Bitdefender app.

Google LLC Leanback Launcher Installation Problem

    Posted: 28 Feb 2022 08:50 PM PST

Hi guys I have a question, I currently use the 8GB Ram 128GB Storage H96 Max Android TV box and it is running Android 11. My problem is that the Google LLC made android tv launcher also knows as "Leanback Launcher" which the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro uses for its home interface seems to not be compatible with my device, I can't download it through the play store and the APKs I downloaded simply crash. Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciates. Thank you :)

voice to text, type as I speak

    Posted: 28 Feb 2022 06:57 PM PST

Using the Google keyboard voice to text my phone will prompt me to speak now but waits until I finish talking and go silent for a few seconds before typing anything out. However, when I use voice to text while speaking Spanish it writes what it thinks I said as I'm speaking. Is there any way to use this feature while I am speaking English?
