    Help me!! My Laptop screen got broken and then I tried to connect it with an external monitor. After watching a lot of tutorials on YouTube, I somehow got it but the external monitor is having some glitches. Tried to solve this but couldn't understand what's wrong. Could someone please help me out��

    Hi, I have a Toshiba Satelite L50-A. I am a newbie to repairing screens. This is my personal laptop that I am finally getting around to repairing. After years of having a a laptop screen to work on that has black spots on the lcd I am ready to repair it. I have taken it apart already I just need a screen.

    SO the big question is:

    Where can I find a legit screen "dealer/distruibutor/seller" to purchase from, or do you know of any websites you have used in the past that you highly recomend.

    Any recomendations are welcome, thanks!

    Screen doesnt work. I didnt do anything weird yesterday but when i turned on my laptop today this happened so fans are working power light is on but screen has no lights or anything

    Please help troubleshoot what's wrong with my Mi Notebook Pro 2017 cooling system.

    Couple of months ago bought myself a slightly used Mi Notebook Pro 2017 (i7-8550u). Since it's been 4 years since its' manufacture, I've immediately changed the original thermal paste (it was pretty dry) with the MX-4, and cleaned the radiator, and the fans. After that I remember having a CPU temperature on idle in AIDA, with ambient close to 15 ℃ , showing around 35 ℃ (not 100% sure about that though, since it has been around 3 month ago). I also subjectively remember as the fans have been turning on very seldom, after that repaste.
    The point is: I'm writing this post now, having only this chrome tab, aida64 and task manager open, and the fricking fans are spinning. The base at the bottom of the screen (where the exhausts are) is not even warm. AIDA shows CPU temp 37-42 ℃ , CPU package 47-53 ℃ , ambient temp here is 18 ℃ . Task manager shows 6-10% of CPU utilization. It is plugged in, not charging, on best performance setting. When I stress the CPU in AIDA for 10 mins the temperature is stable at 60 ℃, fans are seemingly at 50% (no indication from AIDA). But it's the idle behavior that's killing me...
    I can't find out what has caused such a change, and that's the part where I need help. Does anyone has any ideas, or is that even normal for this model and I'm just overexaggerating?
    I've opened it yesterday to check if the pressure screws on the radiator are tightened enough, and they are. Haven't removed the radiator again though, as I believe that the MX-4 couldn't have theoretically dried up that fast. Could it be the thermal pads (highly doubt it as those have nothing to do with the CPU)?

    I'm most likely going to college next year, so I figured a laptop would be more useful than a new phone. I asked my father for one and he thankfully agreed (this is actually the first one ever). We're on a pretty tight budget though, so I wanted to make sure I picked the best choice. I was also hoping for something that could handle some gaming (if that's possible lol)

    Needed for:

    Is it worth it to Upgrade my laptop with 4500U for 250€ or should I buy a new laptop?

    I would basically buy two 16GB DDR4 (8GB RAM total before) and 500GB SSD ( 250GB before)

    My laptop keeps getting a blue screen and I also can't reset it back to factory settings. Please help

    So my hp laptop won't boot up normally instead it gives me a blue screen and takes me to the troubleshooting screen. When I tried to reset it to factory settings it says that there was an error while resetting the computer to the factory settings (im trying to translate it because it's in another language) I also did the component test and everything was alright so please help.

    Heat MSI Stealth 15M

    I'm getting a little paranoid about my laptop. I have a MSI Stealth 15M for gaming. Runs games well, but the thing gets hot.

    I downloaded HWMonitor, and while I'm not really sure which temps to be keeping an eye on, the ones that have caught my eye are the 4 cores.

    While gaming, the cores will eventually hit the max of 95 C, and then from there, there temps will range from 75-95C, jumping up and down sporadically.

    MacOS users - How does OneDrive work on your laptop?

    Hi all!

    So the time has come for me to retire my current laptop and I'm leaning towards one of the new MacBook Pros.

    My only concern is how well MacOS plays with OneDrive as my entire life is stored on there. Do downloaded files automatically sync if they're changed on another device? Can I edit a word document and have it automatically synced with the original file? Unsurprisingly, OneDrive is very well integrated with Windows and this is the one concern stopping me from heading out and grabbing one right now.

    My last Mac was one of those old white plastic ones so I'm very out of touch.

    Looking for a USB-C hub

    I've got a Huawei D15 laptop, I plan to use it as a daily driver, and to stream games from a windows VM on my home server. I'll need more ports & Ethernet to do this. Ideally it'll have:

    Gigabit Ethernet 2-4 USB 3 ports Display output (2K up to 165hz, no less than 60hz) SD Card slot Power delivery/passthrough

    Can anyone recommend a good one? There are thousands available on Amazon with mixed reviews, so I don't know which one to buy.

    Power User Needs A Laptop Recommendation - Is Apple MacBook Pro Worth A Shot?

    For 2-4 months a year, I travel and work abroad and need a solid laptop for multitasking work. To get an idea, I custom built a desktop with these specs: Lian Li Mesh II, 5960x super stable overclock at 4.5Mhz all core, 128GB RAM, 360 liquid rad, and completely silent with 7 x Phanteks T30-120s. Only thing I haven't managed to score yet is a GPU, currently running the old GTX 970, but it gets the job down for now.

    I've brought a ton of Window laptops, from regular to overly hefty gaming rigs and pro laptops, my latest one being a Thinkpad X1 Extreme i7-8750H with 64GB Ram, GTX 1050Ti , dual M2s etc. Completely disappointed. All of them overheat (despite undervolting and tweaking), the drivers in general, absolutely suck and are a constant problem - for example, it's a daily hassle to get dual screens working with the X1 Extreme no matter the solution (direct connection, a bunch of hubs, you name it), a known problem that has never been and will never be resolved. Even the mouse has constant issues that need workarounds.

    While a happy camper with custom built Win desktops, I've had it with overpriced junk Windows laptops that are a PITA on a daily basis. Now, I don't expect any laptop to come close to my desktop's performance, but I want something fast and powerful that JUST WORKS day in, day out, one that I'll be using while abroad with dual screens. Are Apple's Macbook Pros worth a shot? I've never owned an Apple laptop or desktop, but I don't (think I'll) mind the software. Do they work without issues and tinkering, and are they fast enough for intensive workloads (like video editing?). I understand they're even more overpriced than Windows laptops, but I've had an iPad Air 2 for 7 years now, and the damn thing just works (battery degradation aside).

    For example, how would the MacBook Pro 16 Max performance compare against the Thinkpad X1 Extreme i7-8750h and my desktop?

    Hey everyone, so I've been looking around a lot and just can't decide on what gaming laptop to get, there's so many options. My girlfriend just got the Acer predator helios 300 off of Amazon with an RTX 3060 and it works great, it was also under $1500. Should I just get one of those too? So I'm kinda looking at a similar budget, willing to go up to around $1800. Something with an RTX 3060 or better would be great, but I'm willing to try other things too. For further reference, I want to be able to run games like total war warhammer 3 and elden ring. I really appreciate any help you can offer, thank you!

    How to reset/remove the bios admin password in Dell Inspiron laptop

    I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3542. It's a 8 year old laptop and i wanted to use it with pop os.

    now when installing pop os, you need to disable secure boot in bios. But to disable it, bios needs an admin password, which no one seems to even remember putting in the first place. I got the laptop from someone else a long time back, so maybe they did it.

    Now the issue is, i called the Dell helpline, and they said they can't help me cause it's older than 5 years.

    Now I've tried loading the default bios settings. Following this: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-in/000124377/how-to-perform-a-bios-or-cmos-reset-and-clear-the-nvram-on-dell-systems, I've also tried reseating the CMOS battery to clear the BIOS. But none worked.

    Is there any other way to fix this? Can I "flash" a new bios, would that reset things?

    help, my laptop goes green like this after at least 20 minutes upon opening and gets worse. I shut it down for a while then it goes back to normal, but then after 20 minutes it goes back to like this again

    Laptop switches itself off

    Happened a few times now. I'm working normally, then out of the blue, PC shuts down, and when I turn it back on, the battery has lost quite a chunk of its charge.

    It happens when the laptop is not connected to an outlet. Tried running some system tests, it says nothing is wrong with the hardware of the software.

    I have a Dell Latitude 7400.
