A switch with integrated PSU that doesn't require wall wart?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 05:37 AM PST

Due to space constraints I'm looking for a small, affordable, 4-8 port, gigabit switch that does NOT require a bulky AC adapter. Does know about one or have any recommendations where to look?

I remember having a few of those with an integrated power supply with a cable that you could just plug into your normal 230v outlet. (But it was only a 100MB/s one.)

It is clear that manufactureres prefer the wall wart solutions to cut costs, but right now I can't seem to find any switch doing so. (With the exception of high end industrial ones, but these are usually quite bulky themselves.)

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 04:39 AM PST

Hi, I need some help with home networking. Im using a huawei b818 (disabled internet) connected to a router TP-Link AX20. Ive been getting complaint from my household that some devices connected but no internet while other devices working fine. The incident varied everyday ranging from tv, apple devices and android devices.

Any ideas on the probable cause?

    Ethernet not changing to Gigabit?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 04:11 AM PST

Hello, I recently moved into my university campus and set up ethernet to my computer as did many others. Everyone I know of is currently sitting at internet speeds of 800mbs+ but I am only at 90mbs. I am a floor above them but it still shouldn't be that much of a difference. I have tried changing my network properties "speed and duplex" to 1.0gbs full-duplex which is what the internet told me to do however the network adapter still states 100mbs even though I changed it. What could be the issue and how could I change it to 1.0gbs so that I can get faster speeds?

    Best way To Monitor Data?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2022 03:24 AM PST

I have Xfinity wifi and a 1.25 TB data cap and in the last 2 months, I have gone over it, but haven't ever gone over it before that. I was wondering what hardware to buy that would make it so I can set up a program to monitor the data usage of every device on the network. I currently just use the router that they give you (have to pay $15 a month for it, so why not buy my own hardware anyways).

Also, I was wondering if streaming a pc vr game to the oculus quest 2 would take up data usage. I thought no since it isn't uploading/downloading anything over the internet, just the local network, but this would probably explain why I have gone over my data cap this month (have used it a ton in the past week).
