The Note 10 Plus is the 1080 Ti of Smartphones Posted: 10 Feb 2022 02:16 AM PST The Note 10 Plus came out in 2019, and we are now in 2022. For phones, that's a huge amount of time however the Note 10 Plus still competes with 2022 flagship devices. The S22 has just been announced and it has a standard option of 128GB/8GB RAM, compared to a 2019 phone with 256GB/12GB RAM. Even the S22 Ultra only matches what we already had 3 years ago, and comes with no Micro SD support. I am quite disappointed because the idea behind keeping a phone for so long, is to enjoy an upgrade that feels incredible. With One UI 4.0 on the Note 10 Plus, there is virtually no difference between these devices as they even look alike. Just like Nvidia did with the 1080 Ti, I think Samsung is kicking themselves for making a product just a little too good, kneecapping future sales until they can release something that finally eclipses it. Here's to another year for the Note 10 Plus! [link] [comments]

Widevine bug fixed in 12L Beta 3! Posted: 09 Feb 2022 10:05 PM PST Beta 3 fixed the Widevine bug in my Pixel 5! Back to L1 now, even though PlayStore says Netflix isn't compatible with my device (sideloaded, works great). [link] [comments]
I feel like android has really fixed it's biggest problems Posted: 10 Feb 2022 03:21 AM PST The big problems for me with android phones was always the lack of updates and the social media camera being trash. After i watched the s22 series event i think most of the big android phones problems are a thing of the past. With 4 years of android os updates and 5 tears of security patches it's safe to say that it's really enough. Also, they said the were going to improve the camera in social media apps like they did with the pixel 6.From what i saw on the phone the photos it takes in Instagram and Snapchat are on the same lavel as the iphone and sometimes it's actually on top.The only thing that android is somewhat missing is the video quality, but from my experience is not that far behind iPhones and the problems i talked about above were much bigger than this. Posted: 09 Feb 2022 06:29 PM PST The recent update shows that they've heard those who have been unhappy about the giant 2-line clock after 12 released, but not clearly enough. It still looks awful, and is tougher for me to interpret the time at a quick glance compared to the nice single line it used to be. If you are in my camp, please send feedback in settings if you would like the small chance of them to reassess. Preferably, they would add a toggle so nobody is alienated. PS. The lock screen weather showed for maybe a week after claims that it was fixed, but stopped working for me again months ago. Anyone else? [link] [comments] |
