Laptops Laptop doesn't turn on |
Posted: 29 Jan 2022 05:38 AM PST Hello I have a lenovo legion y520 laptop. I was working on it and all of a sudden it turned off, just went black. Doesn't turn on, but charging light is working. Removing battery didn't work. Windows is installed in SSD, but if it got broken i think the bios would turn on anyway, so my guess that problem is the battery or power supply. Any ideas what can i try to turn it on? [link] [comments] |
Dell G15 vs Asus Tuf vs MSI GF63? Posted: 29 Jan 2022 05:28 AM PST Hi all. I'm looking to buy a new work laptop that I'm also gonna do some gaming on. I'm not too crazy about graphics, mostly play older games but wouldn't mind the option to be able to play new releases. An efficient cooling system is more important for me than looks. Software I'll need to run includes Photoshop, illustrator, XD, MySQL and r studio. Nothing too demanding like video editing. I've narrowed my search down to the three laptops I mentioned in the title. All come at around the same price point with slightly different specs- all com with16gb ram, 512 SSD, the MSI and asus come with 10th gen i5 10500H and GTX1650 4g graphics card, while the Dell is Ryzen 5 5600H with RTX 3050 4gb graphics. Would love to hear any recommendations you have based on the information? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 29 Jan 2022 03:08 AM PST I've an HP Pavilion 15-cc122tx - i7 8550u -8GB RAM - Nvidia 940mx 4GB So I was travelling to another city via bus, carrying my laptop in backpack with me. I think I physically damaged it somehow? I'm not sure though, because I tried to keep it with as much care as possible. Anyway, now the laptop doesn't turn on. The power button's light turns on, screen remains off, and the caps lock button's light blinks. Did a little research, most people said it's something CPU related, better off giving it to HP service centre itself. Unfortunately, there's no official HP service centre or shop around me, so I got the laptop checked by a few repair guys in the new city. 2 of them said it's an issue with the I/O chip on the motherboard, and said it's repairable. Asked another guy, said it was a GPU issue, and also that it's repairable. (By far the least trustable). Then, I sent the laptop to my home city to a repair guy I trust, he always gets my things fixed, and he told me the laptop is probably gone for good, with 20% chance of a successful fix. And yeah, he also said the issue is of I/O chip. So I'm totally confused. What's actually the problem, and what should I do? I had the laptop for just over 8 months, and yeah I bought it used. Thanks :) [link] [comments] |
