    I’m switching to Samsung

    Posted: 04 Dec 2021 10:11 PM PST

I'm planning on upgrading from an iPhone 7 Plus, and I have decided to switch to a Samsung phone. I'm planning on buying one that is about $750, which one should I get? I'm choosing based on battery life and with a good display. I don't mind buying a used phone.

    What do you prefer?

Do you prefer motion smoothness high with better experience or motion smoothness standard with better battery? (About those phones which do not have adaptive refresh rate)

    S20 FE (4G) or A52s 5G

    Posted: 05 Dec 2021 07:25 AM PST

I'm renewing my contract with my carrier and I wanna go back to Samsung since they seem to offer the best software support outside of the Pixels, which aren't available here unfortunately. Anyway, the choice is between the S20 FE (4G) and the A52s 5G, the latter cheaper by only around 6 USD monthly.

Here's the problem, I'm not sure if the S20 FE if they're offering is the Exynos 990 variant or the Snapdragon 865 one. On their website, it says Exynos 990, but I'm seeing people selling locked units from the same carrier we're on online and the model number is SM-G780G, which is the Snapdragon version. Maybe they did "upgrade" to the Snapdragon chipset and just forgot to update their website. I have to confirm this first.

Anyway, the A52s 5G has three things going for it. The one that matters more to me is that I get an extra year of software updates. There's also the headphone jack, but I think I can live without it. Lastly, 5G. There's no 5G yet where I live but I plan to keep this phone for 3+ years and the A52s 5G is more futureproof in the regard. Everything else, the S20 FE wins (except if we're talking about the processor in the Exynos variant, and apparently the digitizer is wack too on that).

    What I'm thinking now is S20 FE 4G Snapdragon > A52s 5G > S20 FE 4G Exynos. What do you guys think?

Buds 1 and Buds Pro Comparison

    Posted: 05 Dec 2021 01:12 AM PST

I have a pair of Buds 1, for those who have tried both, is the sound quality worth the upgrade? I can get a pair of Buds Pro for around 110usd.

    Longer cable affect charging speeds?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2021 08:41 PM PST

Cyber monday recently passed so I decided to order a 25W charger from the Samsung website. There was an option to get a USB-C cable with it but I decided to order one off amazon since the one samsung sends would only be about 4ft.

I ended up ordering a 10ft cable from cable creation on amazon and while using it I noticed my charging speeds are the same if not slower than with the charger that comes in the box of the phone.

My question is, would the cable length affect the charging speeds or is the cable just poor quality that it charges slowly? I don't have a shorter USB-C to USB-C cable that I could test.

Iphone 13 pro or s22 ultra

    Posted: 05 Dec 2021 12:15 AM PST

Hey guys , I have been a regular samsung mobile user. my first phone was the S4 , the next was the note 3 , the one after that was the note 5 and finally the note 9 .

I have been using my note 9 fo th past 3 years . I had bought it in December 2018 . The time has come for me to upgrade my phone as the battery capacity has significantly reduced and it has become comparitively slower

The specs of my phone are 6 gb ram , 128 gb storage external , 128 gb internal storageand it's the Exynos version

Im planning to buy a new phone in the next few upcoming months or so

I'm conflicted whether to buy a Samsung s22 ultra or the iPhone 13 pro

The main reason that I'm hesitant to buy a Samsung is that the note 9 was a flagship and now it's way slower in just 3 years of usage.

I have heard from many apple users that their phones are way more durable and maintain the smoothness for more than 3 years

Any suggestions or insight into this would be helpful, thanks to everyone for their comments on advance
