Is there any Windows 10 or 11 PC device Device thats a tablet or laptop, works touch screen, touch screen keyboard and small as in 8 or 10 inches?

    Posted: 08 Dec 2021 12:32 AM PST

Hi guys I tried running windows on Android device and even when you run it , it's too slow or only older versions of windows work.

So what I am looking for is the most portable version of Windows 10 or 11 that I can find. I have seen small laptops but they are still too big (15" inches is the smallest I could find). So I am looking for an 8 or 10 inch tablet or laptop that runs Windows 10 or 11.

    Specs minimum

    1) 6 to 8 gb RAM memory

    2) 10 inches or small screen size

    3) 32 GB storage space at least

    4) Has an onscreen keyboard.

    7z Folders in Ram

    Posted: 07 Dec 2021 06:09 AM PST

I have a collection of portable apps I have on a NAS device. Even though the NAS has SSD Cache, and with Windows Offline files caching the folders locally, copying or deleting the applications for upgrades can take quite a while.

Inkscape, for example is only ~250MB, but has 6,000+ files. I was wondering if there was any way for windows to grab a compressed file of the application, open it as a folder purely in RAM, then wipe it back to the original state?

I'm trying to remove as much network latency as possible. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience?

Genuine question- Does your windows explorer crash, on every copy of windows you own, without doubt, hesitation, or warning, regardless of installation age, updates, or scuffed tomfoolery?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2021 10:08 PM PST

I swear literally every time I change a folder name or half the time I drag and drop a file windows explorer dies. This behaviour is consistent across literally all of my devices that run windows, except ironically windows 98 SE which has given me much less grief than windows 10/11 if you dont count driver installs. I installed windows fresh on my laptop just last month, and this bug already caught up with me. Is this a universal experience? How is Windows explorer the literal hottest flaming piece of garbage in the operating system? The only thing I can possibly think of is my network share and the very annoying connection timer that also crashes windows explorer, or on my laptop running out of ram. For reference, all of my systems have SSDs and plenty of processing power, so this is purely windows. This isn't a tech support request, merely seeing if other people share this issue. I'm curious if its just me.

    My screen randomly inverted?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2021 05:14 PM PST

I honestly don't know if this was my computer or my eyes or what, but my windows 10 laptop suddenly turned orange and black for a split second and immediately changed back to normal, is this a windows issue or should I see an eye doctor?

How well does windows 11 run on just 4gb ram?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2021 01:28 PM PST

I tried to google this first but never really got any good answer and wanted to hear people's opinions who've actually used it.

Looking to buy a surface pro (used) for my college work and am choosing between the

pro 5, i5 8gb ram (yes I know w11 isn't technically supported but I'll put it on somehow anyways)

    pro 6, i5 4gb ram

    pro 7, i3 4gb ram

It'll only really be used for onenote/word, spotify and chrome so I don't need major amounts of ram but enough to be multitasking without me needing to change the way I work. I want to get the latest model i can since I want to get the best battery health still.

Is there an app to change background on light/dark mode?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2021 01:16 PM PST

Hi, I recently switched from Mac to windows, and while I was able to find a program to auto-change from light to dark mode, I couldn't find anything that automatically switches the background based on the time.

Driver Reviver rendered my boot drive unbootable

    Posted: 07 Dec 2021 10:40 AM PST

Like the title says. I guess automatic driver updates are more trouble than they're worth. Obviously, the software detected six new drivers and I not only updated, but made a backup of the previous drivers in case something goes wrong. However, getting to your backup is impossible if the new driver basically prevents the HD from even being detected properly.

Oh well, I wanted to restore my laptop to Windows 10 anyway.

    Partition for Media Creation Tool

    Posted: 07 Dec 2021 08:22 AM PST

For work, I often utilize the Windows Media Creation Tool for machines that are having trouble with a third party updater. Is it possible to partition the drive in half so I can have the media creation disk on one side, and still transfer data with the other? I understand the concept of partitioning, but the Creation Tool overwrites the disk as an installer.

Windows 10 control panel not reaponding

    Posted: 06 Dec 2021 07:49 PM PST

I'm having a problem with my control panel, it doesn't respond when I click the key or the windows icon on the screen. I don't really know what to do or if I have a virus or what. This is the first time it's happened and I've had my computer for a few years now. Any suggestions would help.
