Phone care tips? Specially for battery

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 05:50 AM PST

I want to know the best practices to keep a Xiaomi on long-term healthy and working. For example about the battery, I wouldn't like it to deteriorate.

I have heard you must charge it full the first 5 times and not charge until the battery is entirely exhausted. Others say you must charge it the whole night the first times while others say that's overcharge and will harm the device. What are the best practices for Xiaomi phones and specially, battery tips?

    Thanks in advance.

    Dimensity 9000 tablet

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 11:14 AM PST

Hi everyone. Earlier this month Mediatek announced Dimensity 9000 flagship processor, which uses the same ARM CPU cores as not yet announced Snapdragon 8 Gen1. The difference could be just clock speed of CPU cores and the GPU component.

Anyway, I was wondering if it is a good idea for Xiaomi to release new Pads based on this new Dimensity chipset. Not only it could be powerful device, but also they could use those saved money(I should remind you that by choosing Mediatek instead of Qualcomm, Xiaomi could save money) to add extra features to the tablet, like fingerprint scanner or 120hz OLED display.

I know that there are two downsides we can't overlook.

First: There is a good chance Xiaomi won't be able to optimize MemeUI for Mediatek chipset. Which means that flagship experience, that was promised on paper, is gone. Maybe we can hope that MemeUI13 will be reaaaaaly good in terms of stability. Idk.

Second: No custom roms. I myself always avoid buying Mediatek phones, because I am a custom rom guy. But this is a tablet we are talking about, so there may not even be good custom roms for it anyway.

So what is your opinion about this. Is Mediatek tablet by Xiaomi a good Idea, or should they stick with Snapdragon?

    Miui sucks

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 08:42 AM PST

Coming from huaweis software, xiaomis sucks so badly. Cant change font (the indian region trick doesn't work in my case), gesture navigation doesn't support third party launchers so that makes my niagara pro useless to me and stuck with whatever ugly icons xiaomis theme store offers, the annoying floating windows that i keep activating by accident can't be disabled, can't desable google chrome and similar by default (i used hidden settings app). So many feature/appearance drawbacks that I did not expect.

Do SIM have to be plugged in for unlock?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 07:11 AM PST

Got me a mi11 ultra, which I want to use as daily driver. Planning on using Europe or xiaomi.eu version, but need to unlock. My carrier doesn't support double SIM, so until I unlock the bootloader, I have to use my old phone. I've requested an unlock, but does the phone require a SIM during that 7 day period?

Battery Life of Mi10 lite went down so bad with 12.5.5 Other using a ton of battery.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2021 08:28 PM PST

I've been noticing it for a while, but my battery isnt lasting as it did. I used to end the day about 30%, or even let it slide unto the next day with 20%.

    https://imgur.com/a/DpI1qc8

As you can see, the Other section is using about 15% of my total battery. Anyone know how to check what is in Other?

    Mi 11 400€ Help me

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 06:31 AM PST

    Hello,

I found a mi 11 256gb on Ebay. The seller never used it because she didnt like it. She also said that it stayed in the original Box and hasnt been turned on except for this one time to check it. She didnt even put out the USB C cable. i do believe her because the cable is still wrapped like Brand New in the Box. Now my question : is the mi 11 worth it for 400€ or is the Phone Bad (heating issues, camera..)

it Costs New 800€ here in Austria.

EDIT: im waiting for her to send me the invoice because I do not know how old the phone is, when she bought it

EDIT : She got the Phone on the 10.5.2021

Can I charge my Mi Power 2C power bank with my MI 10T's 33Watt fast charger?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 04:26 AM PST

Hi! I usually charge my power bank with a typical non-fast charging source (and it's taking too damn long like 2 days long to charge sa 20 000mAH )
But now that I have Mi10T I'm curious if I could just use my 33W charger to charge it up?
I just wanna be cautious before I proceed. Thanks.

Redmi note 9 keeps resetting session

    Posted: 29 Nov 2021 10:20 PM PST

Oh my dear lord, what is going on. I just purchased Redmi Note 9, and I am having so much trouble.

It has more memory, but it seems it's chugging if I have more than 1 app open, it doesn't have a split screen option like my old one (4 I believe) and the sessions... OH MY GOD THE SESSIONS!

Every single time when I swap an app, it acts as if I launched it from the start. I cannot swap off of game like Kingdom Rush or I have to go through the entire level again, I cannot input a password or a code someone sent me in SMS since if I swap from the messages app to the internet browser, the session resets and the page logs me out. I cannot keep my day/night light app cause it seems to shut down whenever I don't have it open (it is supposed to work in the background, and worked well on my older phone)

Can SOMEONE please help? I am going to go insane I think...!

I have a Poco X3 on MIUI 12.5.3 and suffering from a weird bubble from the stock Phone app on my device.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 01:59 AM PST

    https://ibb.co/XzpRqGb

As you can see in the image, the circular bubble can only be removed by dragging it to the bottom of the screen.

I have disabled floating notifications for the app and I'm still unable to remove it. Is there any possible way to actually remove this for good??
