Wallpaper Carousel Replaces Torch? Mi 10T Lite

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 07:20 PM PDT

Who's bright idea was this? The torch access on the lock screen was one of the most useful things and now it's been replaced by some garbage bloatware in the form of wallpaper carousels...

Please somebody tell me I can get my beloved torch access back in to bottom left? I've tried the lock screen settings but it's nowhere to be seen. My heart aches...

Upgraded to 12.5.2 on Mi 10i, theme problem

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 10:00 PM PDT

Yesterday I upgraded my Mi 10i to version 12.5.2 Stable, now the ability to post reviews inside "themes App" for individual themes is lost, any solution to this ?

I had a similar problem in the beginning of the year when I had updated the "Themes App" from Xiaomi store, but was able to solve it by clearing Data and Cache for the App.

Can I still recover my account?

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 09:29 PM PDT

I use a Poco X3 NFC and reset my phone last night using the hard reset mode because when I did the reset via the phone settings, it asked me for a password and my known password wont go through. After the reset, now my phone is locked. I don't know what else to do. I've tried resetting my passwords but then when I did, it's still invalid. I don't know my Mi Account number, and I can't find it because I can't access my phone. It just says, "This device is associated with an existing Mi account ID"

I emailed service.global@xiaomi.com with all info that i can give (imei, known email and phone number associated with MI ID, screenshots, etc) but they're not responding. Is this even the correct email to send in issues like this or is there any way i can recover my phone?

Notification issues for Gmail, WhatsApp etc, on Xiaomi MI 11 Ultra with update 12.5.12 chinese ROM

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 05:07 PM PDT

Any one else having issues with their notifications? To explain. My only issue is with data notifications. While my phone is locked, I never get any. As soon as I unlock my phone, they all come in. The issue seems to be linked to the data notifications only. Calls and text messages come through.

I have tried everything, permissions, battery app performance, etc etc, nothing works. I even reset my WiFi, Bluetooth and mobile network settings.

I sold mobile phones for over 11 years, so troubleshooting problems comes as second nature to me. This is a bug, I've only had an issue since the last update to 12.5.12, before that, I had no issues.

Disabling xiaomi services framework in MIUI 12 Poco f1

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 08:05 PM PDT

Hi all. I want to disable xiaomi services framework using pm disable user command in adb as it is continuously running in background. But I saw in some forums that in MIUI 12 it causes bootloop if we uninstall/ disable xiaomi services framework. Has anyone done it in MIUI 12? (more specifically Poco F1)

Xiaomi Mi9t new screen has some peculiar issues.

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 03:25 PM PDT

I love my Xiaomi ever since I bought it almost tow years ago. Sadly, almost a month a ago it received a pretty bad fall and the original screen stopped working, got a new generic one, and it works without any problem for pretty much all day, until at some points during it, the touch won't respond properly or at all, it goes "back to normal" just if I restart it.

I managed to get a guarantee for a better quality generic screen to be installed but I'm not sure that's the problem, any recommendations?

Buying has always made me anxious and I want to buy something that is good enough and I won't regret because I am not rich enough to afford another one if it is bad. To be honest this is my first cellphone buying. Thanks

AMA. My experience flashing custom ROMs on my F3.

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 03:14 AM PDT

Hey all! I got my F3 a bit over a month ago and I honestly love it! 3 weeks or so ago, I decided to flash a custom ROM to take it to the next level.

First, I did a fuck ton of research because I had no experience whatsoever with custom ROMs, rooting, etc other than a few failed attempts on an old device. I found a YouTube Channel called Munchy, he guided me throughout the process and I followed his guides step by step.

In the beginning, I thought that I'd prefer an AOSP ROM over MIUI ROMs. So I flashed ArrowOS using the ADB method using the exact steps as shown in this video: https://youtu.be/B-laCGpsr8k

I followed the video and didn't stray or add any extra steps. The video was perfect for a beginner. I used ArrowOS for around 2 weeks, then started getting bored, there just weren't enough features for me and it felt very bland, even when using KWGT and stuff. So I decided that an AOSP ROM just wasn't for me and I began looking for something else.

That was when I stumbled onto the treasure that goes by the name Xiaomi.EU. IT LOOKED PERFECT. I loved the MIUI icons because on my F3 it came preloaded with the Poco Launcher. Also I loved all the extra MIUI features and the promise of frequent updates seemed tantalising. So I began doing research on how I can install Xiaomi.EU on my phone.

First thing I did was try and find out whether or not I could flash Xiaomi.EU directly from ArrowOS or if I had to go back to stock first. It turns out you can just install it over ArrowOS which was awesome. Second thing I did was find out if I had to install TWRP or if I could just use ArrowOS recovery. Turns out I had to install TWRP which was a very easy process. I followed this video: https://youtu.be/Fj2YdCpHrTA

So now my phone was ready for Xiaomi.EU so I went onto their website and downloaded the latest weekly build for the Poco F3. I then put it in the downloads folder of my phone. I also put the TWRP boot.img file in the download folder.

Now for the exact steps to flash Xiaomi.EU. First thing you do is obviously boot into TWRP. Once you're there, click Wipe, advanced wipe, then select Dalvik and swipe to confirm. This should only take a moment. Then click on install, navigate to the folder where you downloaded your Xiaomi.EU zip file and select it and swipe to confirm. This step should take a few minutes. Once that's done, flash your TWRP boot.img file again to ensure that it doesn't get deleted. Final step is to click on Wipe then format data. Once that's done, you can safely reboot your phone into Xiaomi.EU. The first boot will take a while so don't worry. There you go! Now you're successfully using Xiaomi.EU! Yes it's as easy as that, no I didn't skip any steps or anything.

I honestly love Xiaomi.EU, I turned off the app drawer because I don't like it much and prefer using folders. Here's my home screen setup: https://ibb.co/198Sb82

Feel free to AMA and I will help to the best of my abilities.

    Recommend me a Xiaomi phone

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 06:00 AM PDT

Hello all. I've been wanting to get a new phone for quite some time. Upon doing internet research I stumbled upon Xiaomi. What's attractive for me is the performance they give and the cheap price. However I am not sure what to think about the brand. Here's what I am looking in a phone. I want something that lasts me a day with one charge. Listening to music on my wireless headphones, watching YouTube, talking on discord and writing my book with casual gaming. Don't get me wrong, I don't plan to stress the phone with genshin impact, but I do want to run games smooth with no issues whenever I play. Cameras... They don't need to be spectacular, I'm not a photographer. Long term use. I want a phone that will last me around 2 years at least and don't run into problems. So yeah. A daily phone that can handle average games (don't have to run at the highest settings) without overheating too much, provide lots of screen time and get you through the day. Preferably when I sleep to not drain the battery heavily.

So far I am tempted between the poco f3 and black shark 4 (regular, not the pro variant). In my country they are closely priced and look amazing. A friend told me to wait maybe for a global version of the upcoming poco f3 gt, but no release date yet. What's your experience with xiaomi. Can you guys recommend me something reliable that will keep me going and satisfy my high end needs? Xiaomi has so many brands and models that on paper look similar. Help with suggestions

Should I get back to MIUI(EU) on my Redmi Note 8?

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 06:42 AM PDT

A year ago after getting tired of bugs, stuttering and overall shitty experience I switched to custom AOSP ROMs and I've never looked back so far.

I like the simplicity and lag free experience of pure Android. But I'm curious about MIUI, it's been over an year since I last used it.

    Should I go back?

Support for Mi 11 Lite 5G?

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 03:16 PM PDT

Since the production for 780g has stopped, that means hardly anyone will make a custom roms or stuff like that, but my question is, does that means that offical updates from Xiaomi for MIUI will also stop or they'll be rarer in compare to other devices?
I wonder, will we get normal updates or they'll be rarer cuz of rarity of this cpu?

Since i have this phone, i am honestly concered for support... What are your thoughts? Should us Mi 11 Lite 5G users be worried?
