| Posted: 30 Sep 2021 10:17 AM PDT Hello, I've been using the app "Meteor Swipe" for a while, but the project is dead and am looking for alternatives. It still works, but if there's an alternative with an active developer then I'd like to try it. There's plenty of sidebar launcher apps, but none that I've tried have what I would think is a basic functionality; Swipe to open the sidebar, drag your finger over to an icon, and finally release your finger to launch that app. All this is done in one fluid motion. This motion becomes muscle memory and I can launch apps quickly without even looking at my phone. Every app I've tried requires you swipe to open the sidebar, release your finger, and then tap on the app to launch. It just feels clunky. Anyone use a sidebar app with this functionality? Groups, custom icons, and row/column options are pretty standard so I'd assume it would have that. [link] [comments]  |

I know I can do it in apps such as Googe Photos or Flickr, but that info resides in their platform, and not as EXIF data in photos. | URL request to Flask webserver not executing the route method Posted: 30 Sep 2021 12:30 PM PDT I'm making an Android app and when i click a button there, i want to open an URL: "http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx:0000/run". As you see, it is a sub domain, and it's supposed to activate the Flask server side code which will check if my Minecraft server is offline, and when it is, it will turn it on. When i go directly to this link from my browser, it works and the webserver recognizes it, but if i try to connect via an URL inside java code, it won't. Here's my java code: And also the Flask server side code: However i don't get an error in the logcat, all i get when running runTurnServerOn method is: I couldn't find anything on the internet but i hope there's a simple solution. | Any app that can send/receive emergency broadcasts on a local Wifi network? Posted: 30 Sep 2021 12:04 PM PDT I've given an old phone (on Oreo) to my 2 year old niece. It only has Youtube Kids on it, no sim, and I've disabled everything else on it. The problem is, she tends to misplace the phone often and it can get impossible to find because of the lack of call receiving functionality. Is there anything to spoof an emergency broadcast to that phone over Wifi? Or anything that would bypass the phone's volume if she mutes it by mistake so we can call/broadcast over Wifi and be able to find the phone? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 30 Sep 2021 06:56 AM PDT I'm looking to see if an app exists or if not some pointers on creating it. I'm a developer but I haven't really dove into anything android related before. Use case info: I have an android device with a screen X by Y sized. There are two menu panels at the top and bottom. When apps are split screened on the device these panels overlap the apps (they can be turned off for individual apps but not for the split screen mode.) I have no control or access to these menus. Need: An app to allow split screen within the frames of those two menus. A change in the available size for the split screen functionality if that's possible? An app that takes up a full screen and then has a resizable container and/or two internal containers which can each launch and hold an app in their dimensions? Any other suggestion? If you looks at the reviews ( even the 5 stars ) they all report the same issue.
