| Posted: 31 Aug 2021 12:10 PM PDT Hi! I have made an head unit by myself for my car. It is based from an Odroid N2+, with LineageOS 18.1 Android 11. More details here and some videos here Everything is working perfectly. My head unit have no sim card, I use my smartphone to make an access point. I just have one thing that i cannot make to work. I don't know how to have calls. I thought to use a free hands Bluetooth kit that i connect to my smartphone (if I don't find a way to use car speakers, and a microphone), but I'm looking for a way to at least see who is calling me, and answer call, from my head unit. | Why is my ringtone menu being redirected to the file manager? Posted: 31 Aug 2021 09:31 PM PDT My mom accidentally set the default ringtone selection menu to be the file manager. The usual path is Sounds and vibration > Ringtone > Sim 1 > Then the ringtone menu. The "menu" has the option to select the typical ringtone songs like Over the Horizon. I tried to see if I couldn't just use a dev option or something, but all I could find was the one YouTube video that didn't even work. So how exactly do I format my SD as Internal? | Android Auto and 2020 Silverado not connecting Posted: 31 Aug 2021 12:47 PM PDT I can't get my phone to connect to the truck, I've tried 3 different android phones. I can pretty much rule out the phone as the problem. I've tried multiple USB cords, all first party samsung or moto, no change. What seems to be happening, I plug in the phone, I hear some noises like it connects, disconnects, connects, disconnects. If it's the first time trying this, it asks me to accept a disclaimer, but then doesn't connect, still tells me to plug it in. Unfortunately the truck has no wireless and USB is my only option. I think my next step might be returning the truck to factory settings, but I'm not certain that will do anything. The blue tooth works fine for phone calls through the truck, but the android auto has to be wired. [link] [comments]  |

| Broke my display and cannot access the phone. Is there anotherway? Posted: 31 Aug 2021 12:20 PM PDT Hey! just dropped my work phone (huawei mate 20 lite if it matters) and the diplay broken. I can barely see and it has a lot of ghost touches. I tried enabling developer options and USB debugging so I can use Vysor from my PC to control my computer. Sadly after I managed to enable developer optiions the ghost touches started being real aggresive with me and for the past hour I've literally tried to enable USB debugging but am not able to. Is there another way that maybe don't know about to access my phone from my pc? It's a shitty old phone and would hate to have to pay to replace the screen on it to gain acces to wahts' on it, but that will be my last option, as sadly I cannot afford to lose some fo the things that are on that phone. | HTC U11 Plus falsely claims the USB C port is overheating Posted: 31 Aug 2021 02:27 PM PDT My U11+ repeatedly shows an error message and stops charging my phone, stating that the USB C port is overheating shortly after I plug it in. I might have to unplug and reinsert the cable twenty times. It's obviously not overheating, and it doesn't matter what cable or power source I use. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? | Samsung S20 suddenly not showing up on PC due to MTP USB Device Problem Posted: 31 Aug 2021 05:08 PM PDT When I connect my phone to the PC after a week. It is no longer showing up. Checking the device manager to try to update the drivers shows me that there's a code 31 error with the MTP USB Device. I tried manually reinstalling it, removing it, but nothing works. | Pop up notifications are extremely annoying and I can't figure out how to disable them. Posted: 31 Aug 2021 04:48 PM PDT I just switched to a Samsung device for the first time, a Z Flip 3. I have searched everywhere to disable this and I can't find anything online. I do not need ANY pop up notifications at all. The status bar is fine for them, I don't need them anywhere else. We want to avoid having someone pressing both start buttons at the same time each morning, so I thought that maybe a streaming service could help? | Reducing Google Photos Storage Posted: 31 Aug 2021 03:18 PM PDT I have a 128gb OnePlus 6T which is actually holding up great, but recently I am constantly running out of storage space on the phone due to Google Photos taking up 70gb. All of my photos are backed up to Google Photos and I've tried the "Save space feature" and emptying the trash. | Posted: 31 Aug 2021 09:16 AM PDT My Essential Phone is on its last legs. It is on Android 10 since Essential went under. I'm trying to keep everything backed up. SMS appear to not be backing up, and I don't want to download a third party app for it. Why are they not backing up? In Messages itself there are no settings for backup. In Settings - System - Backup (On) - Backup details - It just says "SMS messages - No data backed up" with nothing to click or toggle. What am I missing? Thanks [link] [comments]  |

After the update I get a message on my pull down shade there is a pencil then the number 10, then under it is a string of text (QPOS.-*-) I replaced the numbers with *s in case they were ID numbers of some kind. | After a factory resetm google sees my phone as a new phone and won't restore my SMS Posted: 31 Aug 2021 02:53 PM PDT Unfortunately, I seem to have two choices, either stop it from backing up and delete existiong backup (which I don't want to do for obvious reasons). The other option is to make sure I don't have any internet on this phone until I figure it out because apparently if I leave my phone idle and charging while I sleep it'll backup and possibly overwrite the previous one. Does anyone know how I could force the restore ? (I just updated from Lineage 17 to 18 both with OpenGapps) EDIT : Answered myself in comments for ease of access but posting the solution here as well. So I managed to solve it myself after restting again. Basically when prompted to copy apps and data from my previous phone, in small print at the bottomm there was an option for when you don't have access to a previous phone. That prompted me to choose a previous backup and it worked ! [link] [comments]  |

| Question on Factory resetting a Galaxy A12 Posted: 31 Aug 2021 08:40 AM PDT I bought a Galaxy A12 from the phone store and for some strange reason, instead of handing my phone they connected it to a computer and did some kind of update using an app called Fenir or Fenrir (not sure which one), anyway I didn't feel comfortable with the random update and I would to factory reset my phone but the question is this if I factory rese my phone would it still function properly? don't want to brick a new phone.
