Allow people to disable the volume pop up Posted: 13 Jul 2021 05:22 PM PDT Whenever you adjust volume a big pop-up appears in the top left corner and the best you can do is make it disappear after 5 seconds. This may not seem like an issue but certain applications have controls in the top left so for those 5 seconds you can't use the application. There should be a way to get rid of this completely, have it only display while you are adjusting the volume or at least change the corner it appears in. [link] [comments]

What browser do you prefer? Why? Posted: 14 Jul 2021 06:48 PM PDT If you want, comment below why you prefer that browser and what feature like most. I really enjoy using edge because I feel it so well integrated with Windows 10 and it doesn't consume too much ram and CPU so extends battery life. Vertical tabs and collection are features very interesting but I don't get used to yet. Finally, that's tiny button in the tab to mute the page (I think this feature does not exist in Google chrome) it's very useful. [link] [comments]

Best reminder apps on windows? Posted: 14 Jul 2021 03:52 PM PDT Reminder apps that can open links like youtube at regular times like 8am? And can repeat on selected days? Or can open notes at regular times? Having found no replies to no good answers still for weeks, I went to find out what happened to the chrome extension I was using before, which disappeared. I found out that it was made by someone that worked at one of the very large tech company, and they had founded a different company. It looks like there were already many others on the github wondering what had happened to it. Do you know of any enhanced better version of Task scedular? I tried "task scedular" for the first time using the good steps someone had linked - https://windowsloop.com/open-webpage-on-schedule-task-scheduler/ These clear steps aren't anywhere else on the entire first page of gooogle. So I guess maybe someone here had made this site. Task scedular is incredibly not good. You can't pick specific days on this. You can't pick selective days. It took soooo many more steps to do something simple when the chrome extension which wasn't even that good took only 5 individual steps. It likely takes any devs with the skills a few hours to make. Do you know of a enhanced version of Task scedular? which likely hasn't been updated for centeries. Does anyone know of reminders apps on desktop? That can open links like youtube at regular times like 8am? And can repeat on selected days? Or can open notes at regular times? [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Jul 2021 09:10 AM PDT Now that school is over, I'm trying to get my hands on the Win32 API, just to see what I can create and the extent of possibilities over the .NET Framework. However, all the YouTube tutorials I've found are confusing or don't explain the subject very well, apart from the usual "here's the code, type it in your project" with some minor elaboration. Microsoft's documentation/tutorials do not really help me either. I'm at a complete loss. Can anyone help me where and how to start, or at least recommend some good tutorials? [link] [comments]

Will windows 11 let you run APK files natively? Posted: 13 Jul 2021 06:10 PM PDT So I understand that Microsoft will be adding android application support via the amazon app store, witch got me wondering if it will do so. [link] [comments]
Installing software vs Using portable zip versions. Which is better in the long run? Posted: 14 Jul 2021 09:56 AM PDT I just moved from an HDD to an SSD. Even after I had uninstalled everything from my old Windows PC, it still occupied 200+ GB with only the stock applications. This could be the result of installing a lot of software over the last 4 years. So right now since my SSD is not as huge as my HDD I was thinking if I could simply use the zip versions of software( wherever available) so that these software don't fill up my C drive with temporary data and folders that just doesn't go even after uninstalling it. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]

Windows doesn't show Windows 11 update on the DEV channel Posted: 14 Jul 2021 09:47 AM PDT I wanted to upgrade to windows 11 alpha build. But it doesn't show any new update when I enable dev channel. These are config/specs: Secure boot enables and TPM 2.0 (ready to use) options diagnostic data - check ( as per LLT video) current build: Win10 Home, 21H1, 19043.110 Anything else that I am missing? Windows just says your device is up to date. [link] [comments]
