Which field can a Computer Tech find steady work? Posted: 14 Jul 2021 06:14 AM PDT Hello guys, I am a 20 year computer repair tech but now here in NY this field has been over saturated for many years now. I had branched out into web design then SEO but same deal with those. I started studying Programming but now Programmers work for $10 per hour. There is not much work for IT people either. I had looked into Cyber Security but I personally know 2 individual guys who are very good at it but no jobs. Googling the top demanding jobs for the future shows the same thing as it has for years now and with so many qualified people out of work even before Covid I have no idea where they get that info. I am now 59 so I don't know hw much studying I can do but just wondering "as a freelancer" if there might be any field of study I can look into which might provide steady work whether local or remote [online], any ideas please? How much training do IT shops give? Posted: 13 Jul 2021 09:41 PM PDT Let's say I have A+ and Network+. I'm working on CCNA. However, I would need to learn from scratch how to do everything. I earned A+ a year ago and Net+ a year and a few months ago. Also, I have no experience. How much training do computer tech repair shops usually give? Do I get basic training and a basic job to start off and then I get more training later? Do they personally train me? What kind of training would a n00b get? Do I get trained in everything immediately? My idea is once I get this CCNA certification I am gonna apply to a whole bunch of entry level shops. I am an IT student so I thought I would ask.
