| Notification Overload (alert fatigue) Posted: 30 Jun 2021 03:27 PM PDT Recently had a change in career to a desk job. Is there a way to toggle multiple apps at one time to stop/start alerting? I'm already at a desktop to see all those notifications so it won't make sense to see them on phone unless necessary. Here's the criteria:

| Offical Youtube app lag 720p60 Posted: 30 Jun 2021 11:09 PM PDT Just move to a new place today with fiber internet. I am watching 720p60 videos through the official Youtube app and it stutter so much that it was not watchable. I troubleshooted playing same video through youtube.com on Google Chrome app and there was no issue. Same with using a PC and no issues also. What is going on? I tried suggested tips like clearing the cache and try to update the Youtube app on Google Play Store. Very odd situation. [link] [comments]  |

I have tried Droid Transfer with no success. They claimed that their software would convert our texts to a pdf, but there were lots of ommisions. When I swipe up from the bottom of the phone display, I am presented with a visual of all the running apps, and I can scroll through them by swiping left and right. Each app panel has the icon of the app right at the top of the panel. I am not very familiar with many of the icons. Is there a way to show the name of the app, perhaps even in addition to the icon? | Transferring google messages app data to new phone Posted: 30 Jun 2021 05:38 PM PDT Just purchased a new Galaxy A52 5G to replace my old Galaxy S8. Used Smart Switch to transfer over all of my data from the old phone to the new one. I'd previously been using the Google Messages app rather than the Samsung one. All of my SMS messages have transferred over into the Samsung app on the new phone, but nothing has into the Google Messages app. Is there a way I can move from the old phone to the new one? I have tried Smart Switch again specifically selecting the Google Messages app but the new phone says there's only ~70MB worth of data that can be transferred but the app menu on the old phone lists there being hundreds of MB of data, and there is still none of my old SMS/MMS/Chat messages showing in the new phone. | Posted: 30 Jun 2021 09:22 PM PDT Yesterday, my Google Pixel 3 did that thing where when it dies it just says "shutting down". While it said that, i plugged it into my Macbook Air charger. Ever since all the battery indicator says is 2%. I have tried absolutely everything and help would be greatly appreciated. I was rooted when this happened, and i have since unrooted while trying to fix this. It will still charge and everything, it just won't show what percentage i have on my phone. I have fully charged then fully discharged it which did nothing, i have tried a factory reset. i have tried safe mode, and countless different "battery calibration apps", but to no avail. | Android assistant responses and answers don't show up on screen OnePlus 9 Posted: 30 Jun 2021 07:02 PM PDT Hey all, I hope I'm in the right place, but I've run into a frustrating issue with my phone, in the last day or so, that I can't seem to solve. Every time I use the Google assistant, it only responds with audio, none of the answers are displayed on screen. For example, if I were to ask it are there any tailors near me. It would respond "verbally" with sure here are some options (or whatever) but wouldn't show a screen with a map or anything else. I'm really at a loss here. I again am using a OnePlus 9 and it is up to date with their version of Android 10. I really appreciate you taking the time to read this and any help you all could provide. Thanks. | Wipe phone before selling - iShredder fails to overwrite two folders Posted: 30 Jun 2021 02:47 PM PDT Hi, So, I am about to sell my Galaxy s10e, and I want to make sure all of my data is unrecoverable, even if a tech wizard ends up buying it. And yeah, that data includes "deleted" media from my dirty snaps... My initial plan was to delete as much data as possible, perform a 3 cycle overwrite (wipe) with iShredder, and do a factory reset. I'd then do another wipe and another reset. I know it is debatable whether wiping is even necessary on an Android phone, due to how its storage works. It still makes sense to me since a lot of the data will be overwritten (I just don't know what will be left). When I performed a three cycle DoD 5220.22 M, I noticed that iShredder failed at wiping two folders: Emptyfolders/storage/emulated/0/Android/data: Emptyfolders/storage/emulated/0/Android/obb: I suspect that these two folders contain quite a bit of hidden (deleted) data, including my aformentioned snaps. So here are my questions: How can I wipe the two folders? Do I have to root my phone in order for iShredder to access them? Or is it enough, even for someone slightly paranoid, to perform a factory reset and let the encryption do its work? Thanks, [link] [comments]  |
| Brand new (or as close as possible) Pixel 3 XL, with dreadful battery life, and a few suspects Posted: 30 Jun 2021 12:33 PM PDT Picked up an opened but ultimately new Pixel 3 Xl to tide me over until the Pixel 6 (moved back from IOS to try Android), and while the phone itself is excellent, the battery has been weak to say the least. I'm aware the Pixel 3 XL is not a battery champ, however 12 hours of battery life with 3 hours of SOT seems a bit... beyond terrible... However, having a glance at my battery usage list ( https://imgur.com/a/24M0TEs ), I noticed that nestled under Screen comes in the Google App with 16% battery usage across the day... accept none of it was done in the background, and instead all entirely foreground. My apparent screen time with the Google App totalled to 31 minutes, but the battery app says it's used 1 hour and 50 minutes of "active" foreground time. Is this a red herring? Is the Pixel 3 XL truly just a weak battery? Are there any solutions? Typing in "battery bad pixel 3 xl" just brings up vague cope posting so I wanted something a bit more specific. Thanks! (Quick additional note; I spent 2 hours today taking the bus through an area with incredibly random signal strength, moving from 4g down to nothing constantly. Could this be the REAL culprit?) If we hang up, and call again, the problem is gone. For casual calls this isn't terrible, but it's really awkward for important calls. I have tried restarting my device. | i require help about a bright shading tint on my screen Posted: 30 Jun 2021 04:45 PM PDT dont know how else to describe it, first my screen had a shade of purple that spread across it and when it did it just became brighter or unfocused to the point where i cant see my screen when im in a semi bright place, the only time this effect seems to go away is when my screen turns darker in those moments when i download something or get a notification, you know when your screen turns a bit darker when you pull down the menu above? that basically makes me able to see some of whats happening on the screen, so i was wondering if theres some way i can make it a constant darker tint or some other way to fix this problem? thanks for anything in advance [link] [comments]  |

I started to use an old device that I had laying around, I login with a secondary account on that device but I noticed that some prices vary on the Google Play Store, some are higher priced, some are lower and I am not sure why is that. For example, beeline icon pack on my current device is more expensive, now on sale for $0.99 but on that device is only $0.34... on some other apps on my current device is cheaper like crypto browser is $0.99 but on the other device is $1.19. | Posted: 30 Jun 2021 03:45 PM PDT Hi everybody, I bought a QCY T5 TWS after I heard a lot of great reviews surrounding it, but I after I got them I found out that the gaming mode doesn't do anything in terms of latency, and whenever I put my phone in my pocket it keeps cutting off, and whenever I'm laying in bed it keeps stuttering randomly and drops out of sync with the video, and I previously had another tws but it didn't cut off but had latency issues while gaming, my phone is an infinix hot 8 that I bought back in April of 2020, and my Bluetooth version is 5.0 with A2DP, now what I want to know if this problem is caused by my phone or by the earphones itself, and if it can be fixed ? | Posted: 30 Jun 2021 11:31 AM PDT Since Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite could support up to 1 TB of external storage, I'm looking for it and I did my homework and learned these:
So I'm not a heavy camera user. I don't take too much video or photo, just a daily usage that's all but I do download apps and I don't want to force myself to decide which apps should stay on my tablet. This is my main reason for adding external storage actually. Since I aim for installing apps and using them freely, should I go with A2 class cause they said A2 has higher application speed for smartphone but the question is how much this speed difference is noticeable? and what about UHS 1 or UHS 3? Which one should I go for my usage scenario? I also don't want to feel that my application opening slowly because they're in microSD card. App opening speeds are the one what makes smartphone snappy and I don't want to make the wrong choice. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

I wanted to move some apps and games over to the sd but whenever I try to press the "move" button it flashes then nothing happens. I was wondering if there was any fix to this issue?
