Mi 11 is probably the Smoothest phone I have used

Everything is so fast and fluent, I usually try most of the Flagships every year in the United States and this one is definitely the Smoothest and fastest. OnePlus is very close

Updated to MIUI 12, my biggest mistake... I hate my Mi 10 now. I'm completely noob to custom roms, but I'd like to install one: any trustworthy in-depth guide for someone like me?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 02:58 AM PDT

I hate MIUI 12, it's so buggy and broken I don't know how it's called "stable". I regret updating my Mi 10.

I checked the XDA forums and Pixel Experience seems the best choice regarding custom roms for this phone, but I have no idea how to install one safely.

Could someone please help me with it? I need a step-by-step guide or something, never did anything like this.

    Thanks in advance...

Update for who's asking: this is a little list of the main things I dislike:

    • Can't find a way to disable chat heads, people text me on Telegram and their heads pop-up all over my screen, sometimes even the messages on top of other apps on a black background (can't really find a way to explain it better) - if there's a setting I can't find it, so feel free to help me if you know how...
    • Can't use fullscreen gestures with external launchers, there are alternatives for this on the Play Store but it's not the same as using the native ones. Official launcher is not good imho and I'm not a fan of being forced to use it
    • Animations are very buggy, sometimes they trigger, sometimes they don't or they look weird
    • Notifications design is all broken, with buttons like "Reply" displayed on top of text messages and stuff like that and UI elements not properly aligned
    • Opening notification center sometimes is laggy
    • Everytime the keyboard pops up, I get a notification that says "Choose input method". Can't find a way to disable this and can't swipe out because it's a system notification

None of this happened with MIUI 11 and it was overall way smoother.

Android 11 finally on Redmi Note 9S EEA!

Let's get serious about the green tinting on Poco F3.

I converted 5 people I know to Xiaomi. Can I have a job?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 10:06 AM PDT

First, 2 years ago. My girlfriend's iPhone 7 (yeah...I know right?) was dying pretty hard, and so I advised her to get the K20 Pro. I explained the benefits, flagship chip, OLED screen, good battery, cheap, amazing value for half the price of her stupid iPhone. So, she listened to me and got one.

Both our mom's phones were pretty lame too, old people's phones basically. So we got them Redmi Note 7.

My own phone, a BlackBerry Key2 (yeah, I know, but those physical keys man...I still miss them sometimes) died because of my cat. Poco F2 Pro was just released, so it was a no brainer.

Flashforward this year, my mom's Note 7 is getting slow. For her birthday, we got her the Poco F3, a huge upgrade from the Redmi Note 7. I briefly talked about it to my girlfriend's sister, and one of her colleague. I thought they were politely pretending to listen to me while I was talking nerd shit, detailing specifications to them, but it turns out they were actually listening. My girlfriend's sister just ordered her own Poco F3, and her colleague plans to do it next months when she gets the money.

I'm amazing at marketing. Please hire me.

Smooth Experience after Redmi Note 10 Pro got 12.5.1 update

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 05:04 AM PDT

Yesterday my Note 10 Pro Global version received 12.5.1 update. I did quite some research to check how it would perform on a Note 10 Pro - and I see there are many people saying its buggy slows down and there are many saying it's much better.

Luckily I should say things are much better after updating it to 12.5. I was actually disappointed at first coming from a Mi 9T(which was an excellent phone) using the Note 10 Pro. 120 Hz refresh rate the screen was stuttering all the time. Scrolling in most apps you could see how bad it was. There were times I was so disappointed in myself for not buying the Poco F3. Now after the update scrolling is silky smooth. Like how it should have been in the first place.

Another improvement I see is the haptic feedback. Coming from Mi9T the haptic feedback in Note 10 Pro was just awful. I am not sure if it's just my mind but I feel the haptic feedback has improved a lot with 12.5.

Regarding the battery, I don't see any difference. It is just the same as it was before.

Overall now I feel Note 10 Pro is the phone which it claims to be. Note 10 Pro with the old version was just not good enough.

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 09:24 PM PDT

I've been having an issue with my new Mi true wireless basic 2 earbuds. Whenever I put them on after I take them out of the box they make an static sound (only the right piece tho) that starts going away in like 10 minutes or so. Anyone that knows how can I fix that?

Sometimes my snoozed alarm notification dissappears - no way to turn the alarm off?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 08:29 PM PDT

    Hello,

I have a really annoying problem. I always snooze my alarm two or three times in the morning before I get up from bed. When I get up from the bed I turn the alarm off via the notification.

But sometimes the notification is not there, and there's no other way to turn off the snoozed alarm. That way when it's, say, 7 minutes to alarm to trigger again, must wait those 7 minutes close to my phone so I don't annoy my neighbors with the alarm.

Am I missing something? When I go to the alarms, I can only disable the future alarm, there's no way I can disable the snoozed one, that one always trigger. Any ideas what to do?

    My phone is Mi9

Sorry for any formatting or spelling errors, I write this sleepy and angry in the morning.

MI 11 Lite, Overheat and screen burn

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 07:52 PM PDT

I've been using my mi 11 Lite (4g) for like 4 days, the first day the phone was charging, and I was watching a movie with the max bright, it was extremely hot, especially in the upper part (front camera and back camera module) and now the screen, in the same region, star to look whitish this is even more noticeable on dark mode, it is a software problem (I don't think so) or is a hardware defect.

Mi band music controls are almost useless

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 06:55 PM PDT

If I pause music on the band and let the band screen timeout, and then want to press play ... but the band just says "no music playing".

Happens every time with Redmi note 7 and Mi band 4.

    Please fix Xiaomi!

    10T Pro MIUI 12.5

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 03:07 AM PDT

Just wanted to share that I updated my 10T Pro yesterday here in Croatia. My phone is global version 256GB. Everything seems great so far and I did not find any bugs or similar. Changes I noticed so far are a bit bigger battery and notifications icons and standby time on 4G seems a bit better. There is also ability to swipe when you take screenshot and clock widget on lockscreen changed.

So yeah, if you ask me it's safe to update!

Any other good gallery app to replace the native?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 05:41 AM PDT

Had a Mi 9T in 2020, totally disliked how the gallery worked, bugs and stutters all around, when playing and editing slowmotion videos. Have a Mi 10 now, and it's exactly the same, other than notifications being trash. Gonna sell this phone, but in the meanwhile, what's a good gallery that cand edit the videos I record in slowmo? Google photos stutters too while editing them.

Visionox or Samsung screen/sensor? (For mi 9t/k20)

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 01:22 PM PDT

Hi! Some time ago my phone fell into the water and the only thing that got screwed was, luckily, the screen. So I am looking at which screen I should buy to replace it and I have realized that there are two versions of screen/sensor: Visionox and Samsung. My question is, which is better? What are the differences between the two? It's certainly not clear to me if the difference is in the screen itself or in the way the fingerprint information is passed to the sensor.

I have been looking at several pages and I have not found a strong answer, I hope you can solve it for me.

    Thank you!

Mi 9 SE (stock, global) worse battery life since 12.5 MIUI update

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 06:45 AM PDT

    Hello :)

So, last week my Mi 9 SE got the MIUI 12.5 update and well, the battery duration fell dramatically.

You see, the Mi 9 SE never really had a great battery duration to begin with, since I bought it when it launched it would lose between 15% to 20% of battery while idle during my 6 to 8 hours of sleep.

Now since the 12.5 update that number went to between 45 to 50%, which means since the MIUI 12.5 my phone is losing almost half of its battery charge while idle in a span of 8 hours, that's a insane increase in battery consumption.

Keep in mind nothing changed, I haven't installed anything new, the only difference is the new MIUI 12.5

I don't have a ton of apps installed and I disable most of the bloat that comes with the phone.

The phone is running the stock global rom with no modifications.

Is anyone having this issue with the MIUI 12.5 as well?

Edit: I have checked the battery options on my phone right now (I didn't think to do it before making this post lol) and the things that are draining the battery more than pretty much everything else combined are Phone Idle with 18.25% and Cell Standby with 21.95% and screen for some reason with 15.52% (it's weird because I have my screen set to turn off after a few seconds only and it doesn't get much on time since I use phones mostly to answer messages and emails).

And I forgot to mention, now when recharging (original charger and cable that came with the phone) the phone gets REALLY HOT. It never did that before, it barely ever even warmed when charging, now it actually gets uncomfortably hot. It does cool down once it reaches 90% though.
