Is there any way I can recover the photos? Has anyone experienced something similar? I couldn't find a bin anywhere so it might be disabled or the Gallery app might be behind on updates. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A and I don't think I have the stuff in there backed up. There's some stuff from a really long time ago and pictures with my sister that I really don't want to lose. | Posted: 29 Jun 2021 04:15 PM PDT I used an app called "Fake GPS location" on the play store, worked great but now whenever I use my regular GPS / Maps / Waze its bugs out every 2 minutes and says "no GPS showing approximate location" and I get lost driving! I've looked all over the internet and tried many fixes but nothing works! I've cleared cache/data for fused location, play services, play store, cleared my maps location history, switched off location, turned off location mock and deleted the Fake GPS location by lexa app and reset my phone many times... Even tried GPS status and GPS fix by Google, it did make it slightly better like I'm not teleporting all over the map anymore but it just freezes every minute or so saying "No GPS showing approximate location" don't know what to do someone please help. | Rooting phone/mock location issues - Huawei P30 Pro. Posted: 29 Jun 2021 04:49 PM PDT Hi there, so my tech ability is very very basic. The issue I'm currently having is with a certain app detecting that I'm using mock locations. Now for a long time every time Ive had this issue, I'd simply download a new mock location app and would continue on until I experience the the issue again to which I'd download another mock location app. I'm now at the point where no mock location apps will work without being detected. I've tried using Express VPN in combination with a mock location app and this worked for awhile too but alas no longer. I know of atleast one VPN that does offer an inbuilt mock locations but I'd imagine once allowing it access in the mock location settings the app would again detect mock locations in use, the VPN doesn't offer a free trial so I'm not 100% sure on that. My question is, is there anyway to prevent apps from detecting mock locations in use without rooting my phone? If not and if I needed to root my phone, what's the most straight forward way to do so and how would I then stop apps from detecting mock locations? Can this even be done? But what's really strange is no one got a message on anyone's phone or notification and we're all in DND which means none of those sounds go off anyway. What I want to do is, to move new files with some updated versions of already existing files, technically a diff, to my phone as a zip archive and just unpack it in the right location without manually deleting the older versions of the files, which are going to be replaced. | Android Decryption/Boot fails after restore from TWRP backup while TWRP decrypts /data just fine Posted: 29 Jun 2021 01:14 PM PDT I'm using a Xiaomi Mi 9 (cepheus) with TWRP version 3.5.2_9-0. I have an issue with android atm which to me seems super weird. I recently tried dirty flashing an update to my custom ROM, prior to which I made a backup in TWRP, including system image, vendor image, data and boot partitions. After the dirty flash failed, I restored that backup, but now my phone doesn't boot. It gets as far as the "phone is starting"... screen and then hangs there forever. Using adb logcat, I was able to determine why android fails to boot; it's failing at the decryption stage and then later loops trying to access stuff in /data that's still encrypted, throwing an exception and trying again. Here's that part of the logcat:
What's really strange though is that TWRP has no problems decrypting the phone. The The ROM I'm using btw is crdroid, I tried updating from crDroidAndroid-11.0-20210414-cepheus-v7.5 to crDroidAndroid-11.0-20210509-cepheus-v7.6, both android version 11. [link] [comments]  |

Everytime I call someone or someone calls me and I pick up, my screen just turns off and nothing I do can open the screen during the call. Posted: 29 Jun 2021 03:56 PM PDT Hey all, I've found myself swapping back and forth between my Note 20 Ultra and my Galaxy Z Fold 2 (there being aspects I really love about each of them). This has mostly pretty simple: swap SIM cards, relink my Signal account, and go. The only real way I notice, and the thing that makes me hesitant to swap back and forth, is that I know, in particular, my photos won't synchronize (it may be silly, but I really like having my go-to photos handy for group chats, etc.). I know there are several photo back-up solutions through Verizon, Google etc. But what I really want is a kind of synchronized gallery easily accessible no matter what phone I happen to be using at the time. And, if possible, accessible to the point where I can essentially swap phones, press the gallery button, and immediately see all of the photos I took on the other phone. I'm talking social media saves, group chat saves, downloads, captures, etc. Bonus points if it's a fairly cheap option (I know with the kind of storage this might require, that may not be possible).
